My son had his wisdom teeth removed in Feb. 2025. The service was excellent - the billing was awful. I was asked to pay $2100 in advance and told I would be refunded by the insurance. What I did not understand is that the dr took my money instead of waiting for the insurance to PAY HIM - under our insurance, we only owed roughly $400. Lo and behold, the office submitted the paperwork incorrectly and the insurance took until June 2025 to process. My insurance paid the dr (not me), THEN the dr refunded my payment less the $400 - and required me to pick up a check from the office, refusing to mail it to me. Good grief. I will not return simply because of the billing practices. I have never been asked to pay the entire amount of an insurance claim so the doctor does not have to wait for the insurance payment!!! I can't say enough great things about Dr. Edmonds. Long story short, I had to have a tooth extracted due to a severe infection around the tooth. His staff fit me in right away as they knew it was an urgent situation. He pulled the tooth as painlessly as possible and checked on me throughout the following days as the infection was severe and it required a hospital stay due to the severity of the infection. He is truly a doctor who cares about his patients and we will be his patients for as long as he practices. Thank you Dr. Edmonds for being such a caring person and great doctor! If you are having a hard time deciding on oral surgeons, pick him. Easy decision! read more

This review is long over due!! My husband had his wisdom teeth removed by Dr. Edmonds and, apart from the given pain of the procedure, it went so very well!! Dr. Edmonds is warm, friendly, informative and easy to talk to. My husband was worried that he had a dry socket after and Dr. Edmonds actually spoke with us over he phone on the weekend, sent in a prescription for more medicine, and then saw us first thing Monday morning. I first became a patient of Dr. Gregory Edmonds DDS ( Ahwatukee Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery) a couple years ago. I recently had another minor surgical procedure. Dr. Edmonds and his entire staff exercised the highest moral and ethical standards. The front desk employees were professional, friendly and helpful. The assistants were very comforting as they competently prepared me for surgery. Dr. Edmonds discussed every necessary precaution for pre and post op care. Dr Edmonds was very professional. His staff was fantastic. I was shopping around for dental implants and had some bad experiences, but they are the best in the Ahwatukee area. I did a lot of research and they came out on top. I highly recommend AOMS for all your Maxillofacial and Oral needs. The staff and Dr. Edmonds are very friendly, efficient and informative. I went here because I needed 3 wisdom teeth removed. You may be wondering why 3 and not all four? That's because a year prior, I had one of my wisdom teeth removed at a normal dentist office and the experience was absolutely dreadful! So dreadful that I refused to let the dentist remove the other three at the time. The dentist at the time recommended I see a Maxillofacial surgeon due to the difficult placement of my teeth and so I could get general anesthesia to be put to sleep during the procedure. I found this place just in passing and decided to Google them. I didn't find anything negative about them on the internet so I decided to call in and make an appointment. The initial consultation was quick and informative. The ladies at the front office know their stuff and provided me with a great quote with the breakdown of all the charges due on the day of surgery. During the consultation Dr. Edmonds thoroughly walked me through the game plan and explained to me what I had to do to prep my body prior to the extraction. The day of the extraction went much better than expected! The anesthesiologist knocked me out while I was yammering about my love of peanut butter and the procedure was over before I realized I was ever under! Dr. Edmonds wrapped my head up with an ACE bandage which looked ridiculous but due to this technique I barely had any swelling at all. The procedure went so well that I was able to go a picnic the next day with no swelling or pain! Fast-forward two weeks, it turns out my insurance covered more than originally expected so the office sent me a check for $20 to cover the difference! Great customer service I would have never known if they hadn't told me. Bravo to Dr. Edmonds and the entire staff! read more

I came to see dr edmunds based on a recommendation. I went to all of the consultations and scheduled my surgery. Dr edmunds is a nice guy and for the most part I felt like I trusted him with my health. Amanda (I think...?) was a god send and was primarily the only person that I could talk to immediately and get advice. So as far as my surgery everything was fine I went home and began to heal after. My understanding of what my recovery would be like and what I actually went through are like night and day. Please note my wisdom teeth were impacted and that I understand there are many variables that will impact your recovery. But the pain in my jaw was extremely intense every night and on several occasions I had to go to a urgent care to get immediate assistance. I don't feel like I was properly informed of what to expect before I got my surgery. Otherwise I would have NEVER signed myself up for this. I am 4 weeks post surgery and I am still having jaw pain. It's not as intense but it is very uncomfortable. Dr edmunds was at times hard to get a hold of and there were some instances where I felt like he wasn't sure what to tell me. I had a pinched nerve that hurt so bad I would couldn't sleep at night. The billing specialist is not very nice and made the insurance process very difficult for my mom. The only saving grace is Amanda upfront she never once complained about the amount of times I would call and was very attentive. Overall if I could go back in time I really wish I would have NEVER put myself in such a painful position. read more

The only reason I'm not giving this a better rating is because of what happened during my recovery time. I drove to my apt with my 13 year old daughter and it was explained to me right before my surgery that I would not be able to drive my car home or drive at all for 24 hours. I was fine with that and I specifically told them that I would have my daughter call us a cab or I would call myself AFTER recovery. I was also going to have my best friend and her husband go and get my car after they got off of work. 15 minutes after I was in recovery- still extremely high from sedation- I was told my cab was there and I was told to get in a wheelchair and all but shoved in the cab. At that time I was not ready at ALL and did not even realize it had been only a 15-20 minutes since surgery!! I was barely able to pay the cab driver and my daughter had to stop me from giving the cab driver too much money. later the doctor did call me to see how I was doing and I told him I was ok and in no pain. I also told him that I did not get my 45 minutes recovery that I needed and he said "yeah". No apology. I was very nice to him but as I thought about it I became upset. I am not going back for a follow up. read more
