Ok this is a long one! I really hate leaving negative reviews, but sometimes it just can't be helped. I absolutely love having my hair played with--whether it's brushed, massaged, or even brushed by my 4-year-old-- I was super excited to try the head spa after seeing it all over social media. I was able to get an appointment right away-which was a nice start. The spa itself is very nice- it has a very relaxing vibe with private rooms. It first started with an initial consultation, they used a tool to examine my scalp, and to my shock, I discovered it was extremely dry and full of dandruff(you can see on the TV!) --a fact I hadn't known until then. I was then offered a dandruff treatment for an extra $10, which I happily accepted after seeing that! Everything about the room was great- from the cleanliness, soothing spa music, and clean sheets. However, when the actual session began, the experience took a downturn. The head massage was incredibly rough; my whole body was moving due to the intensity. Initially, I thought that perhaps the vigorous technique was meant to help scrape off the dandruff, but after about 15 minutes of what felt more like my head was being beaten, I asked if she could be a little gentler. Even then, the intensity only dropped from a 10 to a 9! After that, I was left under a water ring for at least 30 minutes! Literally just water streaming down my hair with nothing else done!. The technician then returned to continue the rough scalp massage, and although I had opted for the 90-minute package that included a mini-facial (which turned out to be just a basic sheet mask), the experience worsened when I was left (yet again!) under a steamer for another 15 minutes. Sitting there doing nothing was starting to give me anxiety!! Finally, she washed what little treatment had been done out of my hair, brushed it, and attempted to blow dry it while I was still lying down. The treatment concluded with a brief session at the stylist booth, where extra oil was applied and an electric brush used. My hair ended up half-dried, poofy, and tangled, likely due to the rough handling throughout the process. I then had to pay with another attendant who basically insisted on a tip. While the technician who performed the treatment was very kind, her technique was seriously horrible! I left with a headache, a sore scalp, and hair that felt more tangled than cared for. Even though I paid only $70 through Groupon (when the regular price is around $180), the experience was so disappointing that I can't help but feel for anyone who might pay full price. In the end, I'd honestly prefer the gentleness of my 4-year-old brushing my hair. I definitely won't be back ! Was a horrible first experience and it makes me sad! read more

My honest feedback is that the price point is too high at $88 and after a $20 tip, total was $108. This is a glorified head shampoo experience but they lack pertinent details such as an advanced head massage technique, consistency and use target products (at least the conditioner spray). My main grip was that the experience was just too boring and they could do so much more to enhance the experience with proper technique. We circulated lot for 14 minutes. ~Atmosphere: typical spa environment. All areas of spa very clean. ~Communication: was poor there is a language barrier whereas we were totally confused about room assignment and payment. ~Service: this really where this spa fell short. A contribute much of this to communication challenges. Check in was confusing, as I was being treated, she put all kind of crap in my hair, she did not bother to explain the process, another employee came into the room and then they left without a word. A few minutes later technician walked out of the room again. I found this unprofessional. Upon completion I was told by way of pointing to sit in a chair to have my hair dried. Upon check out I was told I would be charged $2.00 to use my debit card. When I told her this was not on their website she just shrugged. I told her I would not pay it and did not have $60 cash. No one answered when first called but returned my phone call. Very clean and orderly. Very friendly. Confirmed my appointment with message, which I appreciated. Started with video imaging of my scalp. Nice music playing in the background. Had "point" card to earn extra service. Hot towel under neck at the end. Areas for growth: longer blanket- blanket to cover me was short and didn't cover feet ( I'm 5'9"); when rinsing hair, didn't run fingers through my hair, felt like product was still in hair; used scalp tool to massage head (nice) but at the very end didn't comb or brush hair through from scalp to ends and had a big "nest" at neck area; hot towel smelled like mildew! ; burned scalp with blow dryer; lady left room to get a brush to brush ends only- a heart-shaped novelty brush that looks like purchased at Dollar Tree. At end, Re-looked at scalp, scalp looked great besides red mark from burn. Manager/ owner stated it was red due to "sensitivity" form heat. Clearly not true or WHOLE head would have been red. They suggested a different "treatment" for my irritation. I approved it thinking it would alleviate my inflammation. The esthetician focused primarily on this section of scalp and irritated it even more and it still has not healed two weeks later. She literally scraped this inflamed scalp for 30 minutes. I really enjoyed my experience here. Everyone was nice and friendly. English is their second language, but they did their best to try and understand what I was saying. I got the 90 minute scalp treatment. It was a very relaxing experience overall. First, Annie started with the scalp massage. She made sure she wasn't adding too much pressure. Then came the shampooing and massage. I'm positive she used one of those scalp massager brushes at some point. Then she did the conditioning and massaging. Next, she turned on the water machine to rinse it out. It was so relaxing. The last thing we did was a facial and upper body massage. I think she used a jade roller or something like that. Then she used her hands. It felt so good and again, she made sure she didn't apply too much pressure. I love this place. Would definitely comeback. The only small complaint that I have is that they don't really know how to dry 4c textured hair. It's the end of the world, but my scalp feels amazing. I can definitely see myself going at least once a month. Would recommend this for anyone with any hair type. Get your scalp cleaned because that's the focus of the service.
