I told her this and she said it should still have the strip in it. They did not start adding the strips until 1992. I could understand if it was some youngster that might only be familiar with the newer bill design, but she was not young. I also would have accepted her stance if she said it was hotel policy to only accept bills that have the strip. The way the interaction took place left me feeling accused of trying to pass a counterfeit bill. A little more tact would have gone a long way here. I feel like a hotel manager would be more in tune with customer service. Funny enough, I went back to the bar the next night and paid with the $20 in question. The bartender on duty that night accepted it without batting an eyelash. Food was just okay.
