Shrimp wontons & spicy fries. The wontons were delicious. The fries and 2 hush puppies were average though

The food was delicious. Be aware that mild is spicy. The ambience is cute with a nautical theme. They ran out of mussels early sunday morning but that indicated to me that food is fresh and not frozen.

I can't believe we've waited this long to try this place!! Very well done on the inside! Very clean and the staff were extremely accommodating. Many different options to order from! My husband had the lb of crab legs and I had fried cat fish. Both were the best we had ever had! They also have a great drink menu reasonably priced. We can't wait to go back and try something new! This place should be WAY busier than what it was.. go try it! You will love it!

Just discovered this place when meandering into our "sometimes caught in" area, in the mood for something new/different and it was perfectly what we had in mind. Grand opening, so everything is obviously spic n span, fresh and new. We wandered in about an hour before closing, but we assured them we'd be quick about it, ha! Service was super friendly. The menu looked as it should, I think, for a proper seafood place, lots of "market price", meaning it's fresh! Prices are very fair, and it's great for more of a less expensive, simple basket style dinner and also lots of very upscale choices when you're celebrating something, etc., living large! We went the simple 2 choice basket and a shrimp poboy, and man, it was VERY good. Listen up, we grew up 20 minutes from The Gulf Coast, so we know what's good. A few mentions, other seafood places can take notes on their gumbo. The size is called a cup, but it's very generous for that term, something other places want to get away with calling a bowl. And it was delicious! Wifey thought it was a tad salty, but I thought it was as it should be, even perfectly spicy. The heat is throttled just right! My basket and her Poboy was fantastic too, the shrimp tasted fresh, and battered just right (not some strong, hard, over-bearing crust like restaurants tend to bury their shrimp in). In fact, we needed a to-go container, so for the pricepoint, we got 3 dinners. Just plain great, we will be back for sure!

One of the best seafood experiences in my recent memory. There are many great things I will be happy to recommend but first and foremost, you need their bread in your life. Trust me, the bread alone is worth a visit. Yet there is much more worth trying. I didn't expect to like the type of hushpuppies they served, but they are excellent. We had the oysters on the half shell, best I've had in years. The spiked raspberry lemonade was surprising because I haven't ever had a drink exceed expectations as well. Service was excellent. Everything was clean. Dr. Pepper was normal. Couple tips: "Mild" spicy is quite spicy for people with a palate like mine. Asking for butter yields melted clarified butter, but unsalted. Ask for salt.

King Crab House's 3rd location grand opening today! The restaurant is super spacious and clean. Huge U shaped bar in the back for the adults (: They have happy hour everyday from 4pm-8pm for signature cocktails! Service is quick and attentive. If you can't decide what to order, here are some suggestions! I recommend the house special sauce with spice level HAWT for your seafood boil. Triple Your Lovin's #1. We had a reservation, which I'd definitely recommend because it gets busy especially on a Friday and parking is limited. Once we were seated, the server gave us a nice rundown of the menu. We started with the hand rolls, the Masu Tartare and Toro Tartare and both were delicious. I personally loved the Masu more, but you really can't go wrong with either. We also ordered calamari, which arrived a bit later. It was okay, nothing spectacular, not as crispy as I hoped but the rest of the meal more than made up for it. For sushi, I had the Spicy Atlantic Salmon and the Kani Koi. I absolutely loved the Spicy Atlantic Salmon...it was definitely a favorite but my fiancé preferred the Kanikoi, so everyone wins. We also tried the Kamasu - Barracuda, which was just as delicious. Overall, everything was perfect, and I can't wait to come back to try more hand rolls and a few other dishes.

I am a Sushi novice to say the least, but my grandson and daughter wanted to introduce me to his new favorite restaurant, he's 15 so I had to see what he was raving about! The only reason I gave 4 stars is, cuz I am not educated on all things sushi and the extensive menu didn't really break down what each category really meant, the place was packed so clearly it's a newbie issue. I mentioned to our server Cameron, who was so polite and professional by the way, that it might be fun to host a monthly Sushi 101, where people could make reservations and for a flat rate the attendees could learn the difference between sashimi, sushi and all the other preparations for the cuisine. People could taste and sample each type and learn a little bit, giving them confidence to put Hush in their local food rotation. I really enjoyed my experience, and will do some research on the different options so I can try some new foods, I have no doubt I can ask my server, but that would have made me uncomfortable making the rest of my party wait while I learn, this was a spur of the moment invite so I didn't have time to do research, totally my problem. I will be going back once I learn more! I enjoyed my food, the Tempura Shrimp roll, we also really liked the smoked salmon roll, the crab rangoon, and shrimp fried rice, all was delicious! Very nice place for a date night, if you like sushi you won't be disappointed!

Bartenders were quick and friendly. No draft beer, but a pretty stocked full bar so no complaints. One thing I really ended up liking best about this place, was it's a mostly older crowd. Both the Tavern and Tycoon are in Flower Mound, and I have not visited, but I have made stops at both Jane and now Volstead. And I have to say, I wanted to be impressed, and I just wasn't. When I went to Jane, the cocktails were not up to snuff. My visit to Volstead, the cocktail was fantastic but the ambiance and food disappointed. I came into Volstead to check out the happy hour. They have a discount on wine, and half off their signature cocktails and martinis. They make craft cocktails, which were impressive, but only have one bartender. It takes time, but they could use another. I ordered a Volstead Vesper. It is a bold martini. Josh made it well. It was well balanced. Boozy yet balanced. And I love a lemon curl. A garnish can really elevate a cocktail. Five stars for the drink. I will come back and order another one. I also ordered their spicy tuna crispy rice. It was rather a disappointment. The serving size was generous, the crunch on the rice was there, and then it fell short. The texture of the rice was on the mushier side. The tuna was NOT spicy. It had been dressed in something, but it brought absolutely NO flavor or anything to the tuna. There was a wasabi cream and a sauce (maybe eel sauce) that dressed the plate, but the tuna was bland. A little soy, citrus, yuzu, sriracha or SOMETHING to elevate and brighten the tuna would have been EVERYTHING. So it just ended up being bland tuna, on undressed avocado, on fried mushy rice with some tasty sauces. It absolutely was not spicy. And with a little something something it could have been rather tasty. Even with mushy rice. When I walked in and sat down, there was no music playing so you were just hearing conversations bouncing off the walls. After about a half hour someone decided they needed some tunes, but then it was too loud and it was hard to hear the bar tenders. I loved the decor, and again, my cocktail was really rather good. The overall feel just felt kind of sloppy. It could have been awesome, and fell short. They claim to have Southlakes best burger, and maybe that is a better choice than the tuna. I may give it a shot. It got rather popular as I was leaving, the crowd a bit more mature. And maybe that is their bag. They have great reviews and high stars, I just didn't feel it.

The noise level was extremely high...we literally had to yell just to have a conversation with each other. Service was also very slow. It took about 15 minutes just to be acknowledged at the bar, and close to 30 minutes to actually receive a drink. When I finally ordered, I told the bartender to make her favorite drink. She made something that included raw egg whites (which I later learned is common in certain cocktails), but it wasn't mentioned or explained at the time. A few hours later, I became very sick...vomiting and dealing with what felt like severe food poisoning all night and through the next 24 hours. After looking into it, I suspect it may have been related to the raw egg used in the drink. Just something to be aware of if you're ordering drinks like a whiskey sour or anything that may include egg whites. After getting our receipt (which you need for the speakeasy entry code), we checked out the speakeasy portion, but the vibe there wasn't great either..pretty must the same as the other part of the bar. We ended up leaving within about five minutes. Overall, the experience didn't live up to the hype for us....between the noise, long wait times, and how we were treated, it just wasn't enjoyable. For comparison, the bar next door, Archibald, felt much more welcoming. Maybe regulars have a different experience, but as first-time guests, we were not impressed.
