So happy they finally opened a store here in SoCal! My husband and I would always stop by the store in New York so that he doesn't have to pay the shipping fee We came on a Saturday afternoon where we were told it would be a 90 min wait. You scan the QR code and join the waitlist. Then when you get the text that it's your turn you have 5-10 min to check in. Luckily for me community goods was a short walk away so we killed time there. It's a pretty small store with the cafe in the back. Workers were helpful, but man was it busy. I suggest coming on a weekday or during odd hours. Pretty good selections of hats, tees, shoes etc. Seemed like they were out of popular sizes but thankfully my husband was able to get the hat he wanted. We'll def be back! read more

I will never purchase an ALD product again and am in the process of selling everything I own with their name on it. This is my 2nd time visiting the store. It's also the 2nd time the lady at the door looked me up and down and told me I couldn't come in. I've visited the NYC location many times and it's been great. No idea what the deal is with the staff here. This time around, I came with a friend visiting from France because she'd wanted a hat before she went back home. We made the long trip out there only to be told we weren't good enough to enter their store. I've never seen such a thing...it worked out because I gave her both my ALD hats and will be selling what's left. Part of wearing such an expensive brand is having pride for those who produce it. I've lost all that and feel letdown I spent so much on a brand that didn't think we were good enough to enter twice. Racism? No idea. Do yourself a favor and drive down the street to KITH. Incredible staff and a great experience overall. Welcome to LA, ALD. Do better. read more

The grand opening of Aimé Leon Dore in Los Angeles absolutely lived up to the hype and honestly exceeded it. From the moment you walk in, the space feels incredibly intentional. The design is stunning clean, elevated, and warm at the same time. It has that perfect balance of luxury and comfort, where every detail feels curated but never overdone. Huge credit to Sarita Posada she absolutely nailed it. The way she brought together textures, tones, and layout creates an environment that feels both sophisticated and welcoming. It's the kind of space that instantly puts you in a good mood. The vibe is what really sets it apart. It feels laid-back yet refined, the kind of place you want to hang out in not just shop and leave. Music, lighting, and overall flow all come together seamlessly, giving off that effortless cool that ALD is known for. Also have to shout out the hospitality while we were waiting, the manager Marquis came out to greet us, which was a really nice touch and made the whole experience feel even more welcoming and personal. And of course, the clothing speaks for itself. The quality, the fits, the color palettes it's all on point. You can see and feel the craftsmanship in every piece. Whether you're into timeless staples or more statement pieces, there's something that just pulls you in. One of the standout features has to be the detached café. It's honestly such a vibe on its own. Beautifully designed, super inviting, and the perfect extension of the brand. Grabbing a coffee there feels like part of the overall experience, not just an add on. It makes you want to slow down, sit for a bit, and take it all in. Overall, this is more than just a retail opening it's a full lifestyle experience. Aimé Leon Dore brought something really special to LA, and it already feels like a staple. I got my husband a gift card for the brand recently so we made our way to LA yesterday. We were surprised when we arrived that there was over an hour wait. While in NY last year we walked right in. We added our name then walked over to other stores. Once back we grabbed some drinks at the cafe. There was a short line to order. I don't mind a wait however the employee was spending so much time with each customer so it made for a longer wait. I ordered a couple iced teas and a chocolate bar. The tea had an interesting taste. The employees were friendly. We sat in the courtyard while we waited. We did notice that a group of guests seem to go in and out of the cafe/store so it could be they aren't monitoring who enters through the back. Once in the store it was pretty dull. As another reviewer mentioned the employees aren't really interested in guests or outgoing. If you need help you'll need to ask. The store is quite small. People seem to linger hence the long wait. Overall I don't plan to return. I'll stop in the NY location later this year. read more

Cafe staff is extremely nice and welcoming. Store staff needs to get laid. Came on a Thursday and this man told me I couldn't take pics or videos while sitting down outside waiting for our drinks. Babe it's LA. There are endless amount of videos and photos of this spot all over the internet. Store staff could not have been more hostile. Man like literally what happened to yall. Worst shopping experience and that short guy needs to take a chill and maybe take some ashwaganda. His energy was just god awful. Other than that, cafe staff most definitely deserve raises! Matcha was fantastic and Greek yogurt bowl was delicious!! Aime Leon Dore has been one of my favorite brands for years, and until now I had only shopped online. When the LA store opened, I went in with a lot of excitement. Since then, I've visited three more times. But every time I went, I felt that some of the staff were neither friendly nor proactive. Even something as simple as asking for a size felt awkward because it was hard to know who to approach. No one ever came up first to help. One person who seemed like a manager actually came across as quite arrogant. The excitement of waiting 20-30 minutes outside for check-in at the front door ends up feeling better than the actual in-store experience. Honestly, I miss the days of imagining the New York store while shopping online. Those online experiences somehow felt more special than visiting the LA location in person. read more

Look, it's a beautiful, beautiful store with a courtyard and cafe, great items and design and such. Just such an unpleasant experience that made me feel terrible about myself for even going. The first time I went they said they were at capacity for the rest of the day, so I came back a week later. I was let in after 15 minutes of waiting (no problem), the woman controlling the line at the door was actually super nice. However, the employees inside are a different story. The other comment about them needing to be more proactive is spot on. We're looking through the rack admiring the clothes, holding it against ourselves, and the employee just stares. No "need some help?" or "want me to grab a size for you?" or even a compliment like "that would look great on you". Just a cold stare. The baristas also seemed to not care if I were dead or alive. My biggest pet peeve is when I order something and am immediately met with "anything else..." and a cold stare. You know you don't have to be a barista right? The coffee was uncharacteristically mediocre considering how intentional everything in the cafe is, down to the gem of a custom La Marzocco espresso machine. What compelled me to write this, however, was an incident in the courtyard. I came with a friend who is in the US for school, who has that rich-foreigner-looking to buy today-energy, whereas I am his proletariat-poorer companion. He asked me to take some pictures of him in the courtyard dining area with his phone, so I flick away and vary angles and suddenly two employees rush out from the store and into the camera view, asking him if it's alright that i'm photographing him and if "he's okay". Confused, he said "uhh yes, it's fine...?". They ask him if he's sure, and then ask the man sitting next to him, who was not even nearly in my pictures, if it was okay that I was taking pictures. I frustratingly asked "am I not allowed to take pictures?", to which I was told "oh no no it's...it's fine...", they said, not even looking 30 degrees within my direction. I honestly felt so insulted and "less than", and began to feel like I didn't belong amongst this group of elite retail workers and shoppers. I uncomfortably waited for my drink as one of the employees who confronted us lingered in the courtyard for what could only feel like monitoring of my behavior. As soon as my drink was called, we up and left. It was very unfortunate because this store is GORGEOUS!! There's no doubt about that. Their pieces are truly special. I was planning on saving up some money to buy some dodgers collabs that they have on the rack, which are so beautiful, but idk anymore, it just feels like they didn't see or treat me as someone who is worthy and able to shop at ALD. read more

Horrible shopping experience ever. I recently went to the NY location so I was excited that they opened one in LA. Unfortunately the staff were extremely rude. No one there were approachable and had an ugly attitude. Don't even bother asking for a size, took more than 15 mins trying to see if they had my size. As I approached another employee about it they said that's it's normal to wait that long? The original employee then asked me what was the matter & I asked again for my size and she said oh yea they didn't have my size. Wasted my time. Don't think I'll come here again. read more
