I always try to switch it up but I consistently end up ordering the jerk salmon or the chicken wrap on a spinach wrap with no tomatoes. The quality is always good. The space is the same, small but enough seats. Cozy for a cafe. I also get the jerk chicken salad when I see it on the menu. The workers are cool! I think a lot of times people just assume that you are familiar with a restaurant if it's popular to the community. I don't think people realize that there are some people who have never experienced their business before. I ordered the blackened salmon wrap. It was very delicious! And not too messy. Some restaurants that have salmon wraps on their menu make them too juicy which causes the wrap to become too soft. Ain't She Sweet Cafe got it just right. The price was pretty good, especially considering they offer a bag of chips in the cost. I didn't get a chance to taste anything sweet but I'll definitely go back. In the future, I'd just recommend that the employees treat each customer like it's their first time there because it just might be. read more

I got the garden veggie panini and the bread was soggy because of all the spicy mayo they added when I specifically asked for vegan jerk sauce. And I asked for it on the side! The sun dried tomatoes were more like regular tomatoes and I'm not sure if broccoli was supposed to be on the sandwich but it was. I still ate the sandwich because I was hungry but it was mid. Had my mindset on Chicago pizza before exiting the "pizza Mecca" as still prefer NY style and the fond memories of getting slices on a regular basis. Happy to be referred to this spot. The café proximity to a coffee shop, both black owned, made my decision, super easy. Ordered coffee, and then went next-door to get food. There were several options, including wraps, Panini's and soups. I selected the jerk chicken salad wrap on a spinach tortilla and a bowl of the tomato spinach bisque soup to share. My companion had the veggie Panini. Despite the busy atmosphere, service was Fishel and personable. Order was placed and received ticket to wait for my name to be called. There was a discrepancy with amount, charged, and the reason for the four star rating. I brought the matter to the attention of the cashier and resolved immediately with addition of pre packaged jerk salad for later enjoyment. I would suggest due diligence in making sure that your order is accurate, should be done in all instances. Food was received in a timely fashion and all condiments were available or already included. Enjoyed my soup immediately and took the wrap for my flight. The soup was amazing and perfect for the cooler temperatures in Chicago. My wrap had great flavor and the jerk spice provided additional heat! My boyfriend took me to this hidden gem that I never knew existed until today and after tasting it and also seeing all these reviews that agree I will be giving it a go again. I specifically want to try the jerk chicken wrap everyone is craving about. So, we did come right in the middle of lunch around 12:30 and there was a small line but it got much longer as time passed up until we left. They definitely had a good rush and that's always a sign to me that this is people's go to spot for lunch. I could tell right away from the menu that anything i was ordering (after a nice workout) would be nice and healthy as well. My sandwich was loaded and I loved every bite. It comes with your choice of bbq or plain lays chips. We purchased the Joes teas and those were fresh and tasty as well. I would highly recommend this place for lunch! Welcome surprise. The sandwiches were decent, nothing out of bounds while simultaneously nothing to loose your marbles over. IMHO the Steve sandwich should be a panini because I thought the crossing was unnecessary. Where I think this place excels is in the sweets department. That sweet potato pie was scrumptious. My daughter was raving about the red velvet. Wraps & sandwiches of the this genre & nothing new to Chicago but I can't think of another option unless you go all the way to Hyde park. I understand why this gets the hype. Upon first entering, I was met with a line that was nearly out the door. From looking at the menu, it's options that seem pretty basic - sandwiches, soups, burritos, desserts, and smoothies - but minus the dessert (and I didn't order a smoothie), my dishes were very fresh and filling. I ordered the jerk chicken burrito, and I really appreciate not only how fresh it tasted, but that the jerk sauce wasn't heavily salty. The burrito was also evenly filled and you could taste all the ingredients, which complimented well with one another. The basil tomato bisque soup was absolutely delightful, and my only knock is that I didn't get a bowl / more of it. My only true criticism is the caramel cake dessert was pretty dry, and the potato salad was a bit too tangy. When she handed me my bag and my smoothie I had a feeling that it was going to be delish!! I ordered the Da Steve (which was turkey ham, turkey bacon, oven roasted turkey, cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, red onion, mayo and mustard on a buttery croissant for a $1.00 extra I added the soup of the day (you must call first to see what it is) I didn't because I wanted to be surprised. I was! Their tomato basil soup is sooo good!! I mean you could pour it on a leather shoe and have a great meal!! Loll!! It was that good! I also ordered a Tropical Breez. I sub out the croissant and get it on panini bread bc the croissant gets a little soggy. I'm charged an extra $2 for the bread, ok that's fine but when I ask for the croissant on the side it's a problem... isn't the cost of the croissant included in $11.44. Why can't I have my croissant. So I asked Emily she said "we don't do it like that"... the two lady's at the front were very rude. I got my sandwich got in the car and called the Beverly location. The manger said we would have just subbed out your bread no charge. I live 3 minutes from the 43rd location I'm literally never going back there I rather drive 30 minutes to western than deal with 43rd street customer service. I said my realization aloud and said "Oh okay, that's fine". But how hard would it be for her to have simply said "We only serve turkey bacon, not pork bacon. Is that fine?") Sweet Ain't She? Is the question to ask yourself and be answer will be YES... This place is one of my FaV places to stop by in the Bronzeville area when I'm home in Chicago. It's like Cheers in this small lovely cafe. Everyone stops in from children to school teachers to city workers to retired individuals, etc.. Some people know one another like it's there regular place for lunch and there are always lots of smiles when you enter. I really enjoy the atmosphere and appreciate the location being in one of our urban areas. Right next door is a park built for the people by the people and it just warms my soul when in the midst of such positivity in my city where outsiders only see negativity. Back to Ain't she sweet..
