I really hate that I wasted $10 on an ice latte that tastes like milk with no coffee flavor at all. Ordered a banana caramel latte and I cannot taste any of those flavors. Not to mention one of the baristas was handling food orders without gloves. Save your money and go elsewhere. Also Dawn makes a better coffee and only a few blocks away.

I ordered a Raspberry Cheese Muffin and a latte. The muffins was delicious I took it home and put I warmed it up. The latte wasn't anything to write home about. I'd go back to try more desserts. The shop has a vibe and nice customer service. I also want to check out their later hours

Love this location! I was greeted warmly during my visit, chai latte was fabulous, and nice place to support locally. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have plenty of places to sit, chill vibes,[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] and a nice Black owned business in the area.

Quickly greeted and asked how the barista could help me. It took a minute to review their menu, but I landed on the small honey vanilla oat milk latte. It came out truly hot/warm. Not sure that I loved the mix and would probably just get either honey or vanilla next time. I did appreciate that the menu included how many shots of espresso went into each drink. [[HIGHLIGHT]]You can really tell that the spot has a community vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]While waiting, one can pursue the community board. People gather there to gather and catch up.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Their mission alone would be a 5/5.

I've been to this Sip & Savor in Hyde Park a couple times, and I've always enjoyed it. This most recent time, I tried the Mocha Bama and the Egg and Cheese Croissant Sandwich. No issues with service.

I'm writing to report a slight downgrade on this otherwise good establishment. I'll go with 2 1/2 stars instead of the 3 I originally gave. Anyone can have an 'off day' and I want to believe that's what happened here. I came in last week 12/3 and requested my usual decaf or half decaf, per my doctor's orders, and the new or (or temp, I hope) barista said they do NOT HAVE DECAF, or not the drip decaf. I said I have received it here before, but she replied they only have decaf espresso (Note to coffee lovers: as much as I can't stand decaf, stay away from cafes that only offer decaf as an upcharge of espresso or Americano. Drip coffee Decaf is not rocket science!!!) So I went ahead and ordered regular, as I did not have time to stop at my beloved Starbucks, which is just 3.5 blocks away from the Hyde Park location. The overall experience was not pleasant, but I only come once a week as they are a 15 minute walk. I wrote an email complaining the same day with no response. I'm a fossil and so I used email to keep it 'entre nous'.

I've been here several times. It's a great place to sit and do work. When I first arrived there was jazz music playing in the background, when I was leaving there was upbeat hip hop. I got my usual-carrot muffin and chai tea latte. It was tasty per usual. The employees there are always nice and friendly. As a sidenote I preferred the jazz music to the hip hop. Only because I would get distracted by the lyrics and wanna dance instead of being focused on work.

Great atmosphere!! If you're looking for a nice quaint place to hang out, grab a drink, and just relax ... come here!! On certain nights they have entertainment, vendors, and specials. I'm here on a Wednesday for "Wine & Dine" with half off drinks for a limited time. The music is on point!! Great vibes. There's a food vendor and a cannabis vendor here for the guest. This is my 1st visit but I can't wait to become a regular. This will be my new midday stop. Ok, you can stop reading here & make your way there!! Trez (Owner) was there working hands on. He's nice, personable, and welcoming. Thank you for providing such a space for us to parlay.

The cafe doesn't have coffee with "regular" names (eg. Americano). Instead, each item on the menu has a Philz-only name and twist. This makes for a more unique experience that other cafes in Hyde Park. I enjoyed their Iced Coffee Rose, and my father enjoyed both the Silken Splendor and Jacob's Wonderbar. The decor is warm and inviting, and the cashiers and baristas are always friendly and helpful. The cashier in fact walked me through their selection quite extensively and patiently. I haven't tried any of their food so far, but definitely intend to do so. The establishment is open only till 3pm on weekdays, which is unfortunate because otherwise this would have become my default study spot. I still plan to visit, perhaps with a book or two. Overall, I recommend Philz if you are in the neighborhood in the morning or early afternoon.

TBH, Philz is just like any standard coffee shop, offering different kinds of roasts, teas, and light bites. I asked the cashier for a rec and they pointed to the popular flavors. I'm not a dark roast lover, but also wanted a good cup of coffee, so I got the Philtered Soul, which is their medium roast. I initially ordered it hot, but it was pretty warm (~50+ degrees, warm in chi standards lol) that day, so the barista gladly pivoted and made my drink cold. They asked iced or cold brew and I said dealer's choice - I got the cold brew and it was a GREAT gamble!! Loved that there was a cup of free keychains at the register, so I had to take one back w me as a souvenir. Bright spot with ample seating and locals working on laptops. Shoutout to the Philz staff for an overall delightful visit and enjoyable bev!

This however means that the servers and staff put little to no effort in creating a welcoming environment for patrons: they are often curt and unhelpful. The food itself has not been disappointing, though I would recommend their savoury selections over the sweets. The drinks have generally been good, and I quite liked the Vietnamese iced coffee. The ambiance is super pretty, with cozy couches and comfortable chairs. The location is also fantastic, with a lovely porch that's nice to hang out in during the warmer months.
