    Summer 2026 Seasonal Sips

I love the Capital One cafe. I'm pretty sure you don't need a Capital One card to use the facilities. They often have discounts online to get a free beverage throughout the year. I like their coffees (Verve Coffee), and they rotate through seasonal flavors quarterly. They have small tables, community spaces you can reserve if you want a group meeting, couches, and host events like financial planning for college for free. Everyone who works there has always been very nice to me. Plus if you have a Capital One card (or Discover card), you get 50% off beverages.

I come here every so often. Having CO gets you 50% off. I have to admit I miss Peet's , but that's the fault of the bank not this location. I always have great service here. Everyone is so nice. Decent seating. I sometimes get work done here. Some seats have plugs. Verve coffee is ok. The baristas always make a great drink though, so I enjoy coming.

Great beverages and wonderful service. Have not tried the food here. The cafe is a great place to work, with WiFi and comfy chairs and couches as well as plenty of tables with charging points. You get 50% off on beverages with a Capital One card, which makes this an incredibly economical option for me. I've also seen people use the cafe to work even without buying anything, so that also appears to be an option. After a series of disappointing visits to cafes near the University of Chicago (for instance, Pret and Fairgrounds), I'm so glad I found this cafe to chill out and work in. The ambiance is not particularly cozy but cozy is not what I'm looking for while working. Overall, highly recommend this cafe as a convenient workspace.

Went for the first time this weekend. Even though I live closer to other locations, I really wanted to visit the Hyde Park branch. I was pleasantly pleased. The location is right on the corner. Parking is a challenge; public transportation is an option to get there. The space was great for meetings, logging in to work on your devices and especially to work with one of their Capital One Ambassadors. Kelvin was the BEST in helping our family with banking questions. Superb customer service! Cafe staff is welcoming and friendly! I ordered a non fat iced vanilla latte. I usually drink hot drinks, however the latte was prepared perfectly. I drank every..last..drop. I go to Hyde Park for multiple activities, shopping, going out to eat with friends. Now I am adding my banking activities to my list. I will be back. Thanks, Capital One Cafe. Cheers!~

It's bright, clean, shiny and looks just like the cafe in the commercial except without the smiling guy with the weird big hands walking around. A little slow given how empty it was. My espresso was good, but even drinking in there's only disposable cups. What has become of America? Half price if you use a Capital One card, but even with the discount I think I would prefer a coffee shop in a place that didn't feel so sterile and environmentally irresponsible.

Cafe Menu - 50% off with Capital One bank card or credit card. Ask the banker, easy to apply.

What an AMAZING experience! There are baristas available to take my order. There are bankers to help with any banking questions and ongoing promotions. I came to this Hyde Park Capital One Cafe looking for a seating area with my son to work for a few hours. I was greeted each and every time I come. Ambassador Christopher Price and his staff welcome us with graciousness and hospitality that is beyond my expectations of what I am use to in a cafe and/or bank. I've enjoyed being here tremendously as well as many other people here, I know this by them greeting customers by their first name. TIPS: 1) Use your Capital One bank card or credit card and get 50% your purchase. Thank you Capital One for your VIP treatment. Everyday is a customer appreciation day. 2) Book your own private room in advance for free on LiquidSpace.com 3) Ask ambassador Chris how to improve your credit score CapitalOne- please make more spaces like this Hyde Park Cafe available everywhere. It's been a pleasure!

I truly think this lounge located in Hyde park is great little space to relax or get some work done. I truly enjoy the fact that for their cardholders we get a 50% discount on drinks which is nice. I enjoyed a banana smoothie while my fiancé grabbed a honey lavender latte and wow we were blown away. There are people acting as brand ambassadors and more than willing to help with your experience which is an added benefit as well.

I love it here and I have 2 new favorite menu items!!!! The turkey club is so delicious and the tractor juice is so refreshing! Try them out!

There's even a community board towards the bathroom, which gives this spot a community-based vibe. It's a quick, casual spot with several tables open for grabs when people leave. I also ordered their popular Sumac Chicken sandwich on their Dutch Crunch bread, which was really good!! The bread had a slight sweetness to it that was satisfying and the flavors altogether were soo yummy. I waited ~12 min for my order, since they were rightfully packed. No outside food/drinks allowed if you're grabbing a table to eat. There's WiFi and a restroom in the back. Lots of neighborhood regulars. Downside to sitting in is the music is loud so if you need a quiet space this probably isn't it. The service is good. Very swift and to the point. I ordered an iced coffee that I wouldn't get again but not a harsh judge on that. Don't think drinks are their strong-suit. Naturally, best part is the sandwiches. I had a corned beef breakfast sandwich on croissant and it was fantastic. Will definitely be back!

Super cute cafe in "downtown" Hyde Park with excellent coffee and friendly service…read more I'm not a coffee aficionado, but my dad is, and he was very happy with the quality of the coffee. The cafe doesn't have coffee with "regular" names (eg. Americano). Instead, each item on the menu has a Philz-only name and twist. This makes for a more unique experience that other cafes in Hyde Park. I enjoyed their Iced Coffee Rose, and my father enjoyed both the Silken Splendor and Jacob's Wonderbar. The decor is warm and inviting, and the cashiers and baristas are always friendly and helpful. The cashier in fact walked me through their selection quite extensively and patiently. I haven't tried any of their food so far, but definitely intend to do so. The establishment is open only till 3pm on weekdays, which is unfortunate because otherwise this would have become my default study spot. I still plan to visit, perhaps with a book or two. Overall, I recommend Philz if you are in the neighborhood in the morning or early afternoon.

TBH, Philz is just like any standard coffee shop, offering different kinds of roasts, teas, and light bites. I asked the cashier for a rec and they pointed to the popular flavors. I'm not a dark roast lover, but also wanted a good cup of coffee, so I got the Philtered Soul, which is their medium roast. I initially ordered it hot, but it was pretty warm (~50+ degrees, warm in chi standards lol) that day, so the barista gladly pivoted and made my drink cold. They asked iced or cold brew and I said dealer's choice - I got the cold brew and it was a GREAT gamble!! Loved that there was a cup of free keychains at the register, so I had to take one back w me as a souvenir. Bright spot with ample seating and locals working on laptops. Shoutout to the Philz staff for an overall delightful visit and enjoyable bev!
