What is going on with this place? Price goes up and service goes down. Wednesday, April 25, 2018, I get there At 4:20 AM and the place is closed. Waited till 4:45 AM and still close. Called the 201 number and no answer. The answering machine picks up. According to the schedule, they were suppose to be open since since 4:00 AM (Ridgewood location). Signed onto Yelp to share my experience and see that apparently this is a common complaint. I've actually used them a handful of times without incident. But then this last time they left me waiting at the airport for almost an hour because the driver picked up another couple without confirming I was one of the passengers. I would've noticed if they brought the shuttle but they sent an unmarked limo because they supposedly did not have the shuttle available. They told me they would send a car in another hour and I said no way and paid more for an uber. Fine, things happen but this could've been avoided if they had told me they were sending an unmarked limo and confirmed passenger names before leaving. They gave me the same shpeel as the previous reviewer that they didn't have my phone number to confirm (because they never asked). Second why don't customer service reps understand the benefits of being apologetic for their mistakes? The person who seemed to be the manager kept saying defensively I don't know what happened and didn't apologize until I asked him to. He could've easily defused the situation with a sincere apology and effort to compensate from the start. I'm very disappointed because there are few affordable options to Newark from this area. I hope they will fix this issue soon. read more

I used to us air brook but no longer. They lost my online reservation and left me in the lurch at 5 in the morning. When I called they said there was no way to get a car to me in time. I begged and pleaded for a ride from family and friends, and believe it or not made it just in time. When I have paid for in the airport pick-up the last couple of times they were not inside and I had to find them outside. After hours on the plane this is not what I want to be doing. I think I am going to need to find a new limo service. read more

Different experience than Megan R. but same rating applies. Call for a pickup at 8:30PM Tuesday. Monday comes and I needed to contact them to change pickup time. I was on hold for over 30 min. No one answered. Called back and tried to get a dispatcher. No one answered. Called multiple times and was just on hold. We took a transfer from Newark Airport to Ridgewood, NJ with Air Brook and were very happy with the service. We called the 1800 number when we had collected our bags and the operator explained where to wait for the van, which would arrive in 15 minutes. We made our way to the central roadway and right on time the van turned up and collected us for the 45 min trip to Ridgewood. The trip was safe and comfortable and we paid for our tickets on arrival at the depot. For $29 each, this is a great way to get directly to Ridgewood without having to go via NYC. There is also a park / ride option for those wishing to leave their cars parked in the lot. We will use this service again. read more

We booked a car to Newark Airport for 8/19/2017 at 2 PM. This was booked almost one month in advance and then confirmed by phone 2 days before pickup. 2 PM comes and no one shows! I then called Air Brook and was told that the earliest someone could be at our house was 2:45 PM. No explanation as to why our reservation was not honored and no apology either!!! We would have missed our flight if we stuck with these losers!!! So we ended up driving to Newark and parking in Short-Term parking. Air Brook sucks IMO. read more

We reserved the bus to take our family of 13 from our house to NYC early on Dec. 21 to view the Christmas windows and see the Christmas Show at Radio City and then have a pick-up from Carmine's Restaurant in the afternoon. Our driver, Eve was early to our house so that we would not worry and also parked right in front of the restaurant to pick us up on the return. If I could give less than 1 star, I would. This company is the most incompetent, unprofessional, and rude car service I have ever dealt with. I absolutely advise against giving them your business. If you walk to the airport, you'll have a better chance of making your flight. It was the day after my wedding and I needed to book a flight for our honeymoon. Since I'm not from New Jersey, I'm not familiar with how long it takes to get from where we were staying to the Newark Airport. So I asked the dispatcher, "It's an international flight, what time do you recommend for pick-up?" The dispatcher gave me the recommended time, and I didn't think much of it. I trusted that they knew what they were doing. Big mistake. Not only was it much later of a pick-up time than they should have given me (found that out after the fact), but the driver took a route that took over twice as long as it should have - assumedly because he wanted to avoid tolls. Instead of taking the highway, he took side streets, back roads, and went through highly congested downtown areas with lots of traffic lights. We missed our honeymoon flight as a result, and when I called their customer service line they offered no apology but said it was my own fault. After being passed around from one person to the next, I finally got a woman who said she'd look into it and call me back. I didn't have cell reception for the week I was away on the honeymoon, but when I got back, I expected a voicemail from their customer service. Nothing. I tried to call again, but their customer service lady is never in the office and doesn't believe in returning voicemails. After nearly a week of trying to get through to someone, I finally got the same customer service lady, who said she had forgotten about it and that she would look into it again. Long story short: they offered me $50 off my next ride (the ride that caused me to miss my flight was over $100), but that $50 off is useless to me as I don't live in the NJ or NY area, and even if I did, I would never use their service again. The customer service lady I dealt with was incredibly rude, unhelpful, and incompetent. Our driver chatted us up the whole time about his personal life and how much he makes as a driver and didn't care at all that this was our honeymoon. He was the most unprofessional driver I've ever had. I'm more than happy to talk to drivers most of the time, but when you're on your honeymoon, you just want to relax and be with your spouse. DO NOT USE AIR BROOK. YOU WILL REGRET IT. read more

Don't bother. The truest measure of a good car service is whether they pick you up or not. Airbrook left me STRANDED twice at Newark Airport. They didn't bother to call, email, apologize, or discount. When I called to fire them from all future rides they didn't care one bit. read more

We called and they said the shuttle would be there at the stated time...they didn't show, and when we called to ask, they said they would look into it and call back. They didn't call and then when we called again they said the shuttle wasn't coming. Left us high and dry. read more

I have used Airbrook over the last 20 years and the service and schedule seem to be declining. They have cut back on the number of shuttles and have raised the prices on both shuttle and parking over the last couple of years. It's actually cheaper to just drive yourself and park near the airport. Also, you don't have to wait maybe an hour or more to get a ride back. I had a particularly bad experience the other day which is the reason for this posting. I called for a pickup at the airport and was told that one of the shuttles was broken and I had to wait for the other shuttle to make it's next run, which was 2 hours later from when I called. That's NOT an acceptable business practice. Apparently, they have NO contingency plan for a shuttle that's not working. They only have one job here, take your your money and drive to the airport. If a shuttle is down, they should have a backup shuttle and driver that can get into the rotation within an hour. They have no such plan. People rely on the shuttle schedule to make a flight or a meeting and when they fail to show up, that's just a bad business practice. I will now be finding a suitable lot near the airport for me and all my company employees so this can never happen again and save some money in the process. read more

THEY NEVER SHOWED UP!!!! We had a reservation for an international flight at 4 am. They NEVER SHOWED!!! When I called, the guy had me on hold for 15 minutes. I called from my other phone, and he told me he was trying to get in touch with the driver. 45 minutes later, he finally tells me the driver called in sick and they had no ride for us!!! We were traveling with our 3 children! WHAT A MESS!!! We were forced to take our expensive car and leave it in Newark Airport Short term parking (my minivan was in the shop, we were FORCED to take my husbands car with luggage on our laps). NEVER AGAIN!!! The dispatch guy had ZERO remorse, and pretty much said I was out of luck. Air Canada was great. They rushed us through check-in and held the plane at the gate. THANK GOD! read more

I've used Airbook a number of times for airport pickups and dropoffs. The drivers have arrived early just about every time, which sometimes makes for some frantic last-minute packing, but I found them to be very reliable. The cars are clean and the drivers are generally very nice. Also, one time I needed a larger van to transport a group of people into Manhattan and the driver did not object when we asked him to wait for more than 40 minutes in the parking lot because our dinner was running late. Of course they charged us a waiting fee, but we knew that upfront and just couldn't leave any earlier so we appreciated the flexibility. read more

Used AB a few times and had no issues. email confirmations, professional drivers, always on-time. Will use them again.

I always felt this was a great value, running hourly and affordable parking. However, my last trip was a nightmare where I waited 3 hours at Newark because I missed one shuttle by 10 minutes, the next one was 1 1/2 hours later due to schedule changes, then "the driver couldn't find you", along with another passenger waiting, and the dispatcher could not contact the driver. Finally, a complaint to the manager goes unanswered and not even an apology. HELLO UBER!!! read more

Air Brook Limo was amazing in taking our scout troop to an event in Highland NY. The 12 passenger vans we used was immaculately clean. The drivers were so accommodating from helping with luggage to even accepting directions for a quicker drive. Everyone at the office was also pleasant and helpful. When a different price was charge for the return trip this was immediately handled with a courtesy discounted price for our inconvenience. We were picked up at 2 on Friday and at exactly 2pm on Sunday our van arrived. Could not have asked for better service. read more

When you reserve or book a limo company, the expectation at a minimum is that they show up to pick up the customer- the only variable should be possibly timing. This company was abysmal as they never showed up- period. I received a call back and an apology for them missing my 5:15am pick up for a trip to Newark airport for a 7am flight and had to scramble for a cab to get me there on time. If that's not bad enough- THEY NEVER SHOWED UP FOR THE PICK UP FOR THE RETURN FLIGHT EITHER!!! Abysmal cannot adequately describe their lack of their most simple service- TO SHOW UP. For anyone who travels extensively, the last thing you need to fret about is a car service doing what their supposed to do- and that's pick you up on time AND IN THIS CASE...they missed the front and back end of the trip. Calling with an apology after missing the departure screw up and then forgetting about picking me up on the return flight is UNREAL. Do not use Air Brook Shuttle based at the park and ride in Ridgewood, NJ. I am almost 70 years old and flew to see my grandchildren in northern New Jersey. Prior to my flight into EWR, I called 3 separate times to make sure they could pick me up when I arrived on American Airlines from DFW at 5 in the afternoon. They don't take reservations but have a schedule they post on their website. I was assured that the schedule was correct and I should just call them when I landed and got my bag. I called them to let them know I arrived and where I was. They told me where to meet the driver but it would be about an hour according to the schedule. I went to the meeting place and called again to make sure I was in the correct place which they assured me I was correct. When they didn't arrive at the pick up time (it was 32 degrees outside), I called again. I was told, with apologies, they didn't have a driver and wouldn't have a driver. They explained that they didn't have my number to call me when I asked why all this happened. I cried and then called Uber whose driver rescued me and took me to see my grandchildren. read more

I would not recommend using this airport shuttle service. I did have a good experience parking and getting to the airport. When my return flight landed today I called the 800 number as instructed to let them know I was ready to be picked up. The scheduled pick up times on their website for Terminal C listed 1:15. I called at 1:16 and was told that I had just missed the shuttle. While this was disappointing I fully understood. The next pick up time listed was at 2:45. I would have been okay with that. The dispatcher then informed me that they were short a driver and the next shuttle would not come to pick me up until 4:15. He was not this slightest bit apologetic about my having to wait 3 hours outside baggage claim for a 40 minute ride back to my car that I paid for in advance. If I had known how unreliable they are I would have made different arrangements and plan to do so in the future. I am currently still waiting outside baggage claim at Newark and still have 40 minutes more to go. I have never posted a review online before but given I have 3 hours and nothing else to do I feel that sharing my bad experience is a good use of my time. read more

Over the summer, my husband made a phone reservation with Air Brook for a van to take our family to JFK from our northern NJ town (about a 40 minute drive tops, no traffic). The reservation was made with a credit card #. The rate was $175, a little high I had originally though but my husband had heard of this company and wanted to use someone reliable (he does not read reviews). We had an 8 pm flight and wanted to leave our house around 3:30 pm believing this was enough time to arrive, 3 hours before departure. We have two little children, 2 and 5 years old, and did not want to spend unnecessary time at the airport. The Air Brook guy convinced my husband that we needed to get picked up earlier because of road construction and did not want us to risk missing the plane. Believing that Air Brook knew what they were talking about , my husband agreed. They scheduled a 1:30 pm pick up to allow for the suspected extra time it would take to get to JFK because of the traffic. On pick up day, I was not ready at exactly 1:30 and consequently, the driver had to wait 30 minutes for me in our driveway. Contrary to what this professional airport service argued, there was no traffic and we got to the airport in 40 minutes arriving well before 3:00 pm. Did I mention we had an 8 pm flight? Did I mention we had a two year old and a five year old? When we pulled up, the driver asked for my credit card to swipe. He handed me a slip to sign with a charge of $235, $175 original rate + a $60 wait time fee because he had to wait 30 minutes. I refused to pay it and ripped up the slip of paper and demanded to speak with the person in charge. I explained to the person over the phone that no one ever notified us of any wait time charge and he argued that, because of the extra wait, his driver lost another pick up. I reminded him that the whole reason I was at the airport at 3 pm for an 8 pm flight was because of all the traffic Air Brook thought we were going to hit so why would they book my driver for another pick up if he'd be stuck in traffic trying to get us to the airport. At that point the manager said to not worry about it and we would get it resolved after we came back. I felt relieved and went on my not so merry way wondering how I was to keep my rambunctious kids occupied for five hours. Well, the manager's idea of resolving it was to charge the full amount of $235 on the credit card # given when making the reservation. Upon returning from vacation and finding this excessive charge, I called my credit card company to place the overcharge portion of $60 in "dispute" until it got resolved to my satisfaction, which meant until it disappeared altogether. I did pay the $175. When the credit card company inquired with Air Brook about this charge, Air Brook provided them with some bogus reservation printout that showed we made a reservation for a van to take us from our home to JFK for total amount of $235.00. (Only crazy or super rich people would pay $235 for a 40 minute ride to the airport...and we are neither!) There was no mention of the original rate of $175 or the late charge of $60. So my credit card recharged me the $60 and is asking for documents on my end to prove my side. All I have is a piece of paper with my husband's scribbled notes on it with a reservation #. Don't know what to do now. Will probably have to pay it. That is why I am here writing this review because I need to get some satisfaction after being robbed of my hard earned money. Lesson to share with all: #1 get a hard copy of any agreement and all reservation details, #2 do not use Air Brook because they are dishonest and greedy. I have used Air Brook many times in the past and they were great. I have not used them for awhile because I do not travel much anymore. I made reservations to go to the city for Christmas and when the driver showed up he was very polite and on time. Now the fun part. When i made the reservations I asked if all the cars were non-smoking and I was told yes. When I entered the 6 passenger limo the smell of smoke was so strong that I actually choked. Since myself and 5 others were on a schedule we had no choice but to use the car. When we arrived at our destination I paid the driver and told him that the odor was overwhelming and that the car was supposed to be smoke free the response was we try. Later in the day I called Air Brook to tell them of the problem and spoke to customer service. As I explained my dissatisfaction I was told the there was not any notation that I wanted a smoke free car. I said that if All Of Your Cars are Non Smoking then why must I request a non smoking car and beside that the car had a no smoking sign on the window!!! The bottom line is that I was told the same car would pick us up for the return because there was not any notations but I could upgrade for an extra charge. I cancelled the return trip. and had a family member pick us up. I can't help but fee that Air Brooks answer was too bad suck it up or cancel. As I said I don't travel much but I do know that I and my family will never use Air Brook again. read more

Driver failed to stop at a blinking red light and almost got us into an accident. His fault! The driver after being rightfully honked at have the finger at the other driver who after looking back had a baby in the car. If this company employs such wreckless drivers I would not give them any recommendations. Btw the driver didn't get any tip and the company called and complained to me about that and refused to listen when I told them why. read more

I recently booked a limo from Air Brook to be picked up on May 23, 2014 at 5:30 a.m. The driver arrived before that time and was at my door at 5:25 a.m. He was courteous and professional. He took all my luggage and placed it in the car. He played nice music and the car was comfortable and very clean. We were out in Newark in more then enough time. I took the red eye from California and arrived in Newark at 6:00 AM. When I called to confirm I'd be on the 6:15 shuttle back to Ridgewood, they told me there was no 6:15 shuttle today and to take the 7:15. No explanation. No apology. Bad customer relations. read more

I used Air Brook for business travel a couple of weeks ago. I was so horrified by the experience. A dilapidated car arrived at Newark Airport to pick me up. I actually think it was missing its muffler. The inside of the car was equally bad. Dirty, old, broken, smelly. I called the Manager to discuss the experience. Although the manager was not available at the time, I was told she would return my call. Well, its been a couple of weeks and still no return call. I would avoid Air Brook at all costs. read more

I most recently used Air Brook for a ride home from the airport. They were wonderful! My flight was delayed for 3 hours and came in very late but they were there waiting for me when I arrived. The driver was polite, professional, helpful, and really just a nice guy. Their pricing is great, their customer service is superb, and the cars are spotless and well maintained. I used Air Brook last year to get to and from Newark airport. Can't complain at all, perhaps I was lucky. The morning driver was 15 minutes earlier than scheduled, and one that picked us up from the airport was there waiting for us. Both very courteous, safe drivers. Very tempted to use a different company this year, but then you get what you pay for, so I think I'd rather pay a little more (they are on average $15-$20 more than the rest of the taxi services) and have peace of mind. read more
