    Short wait in line
    Nate N.

I had a decent experience here, surprisingly since it's the end of the month. I drove up, grabbed a gate ticket, waited in line. About 10 mins, there were 2 lines one for regular vehicles and another for AWD and 4x4. I took the right side since I have a truck. The other lane opened up and the attendants ushered me into the faster line. I waited less than 10 mins in a long corridor, you can watch them conduct the emissions testing on your vehicle. There's a vending machine at the front of the waiting area. When your vehicle is done they wave you over to pay and get your emissions certificate. Better than I expected and they also do VIN verification for your vehicle for $20, the emissions test is $25. You'll need them if you want to register your vehicle for Colorado plates.

The idiot they had testing my car clearly didn't know how to drive stick, broke part of my car and tried to say it was already broken.

Never busy, always quick. Friendly folks, too. Just saw them last week. The 20-somethings that work there do a great job. Recommend!

The wait outside was annoying at 2 PM on a Friday. However, the waiting room is nice and the staff was nice.

Their poor communication and vague recommendations led me to another mechanic, who identified the issue. I don't trust them and wouldn't recommend their services. I've been taking my car to Arvada German Garage for the last six months since moving to Colorado. My first couple of visits for oil changes went smoothly, and I was impressed with the owner, who seemed very nice and informative. I was optimistic that I'd found a reliable shop. However, after my most recent experiences, I've completely changed my mind. After my second visit, I noticed a rattling noise coming from my engine. When I brought the car in for inspection, they informed me that it was the timing chain and gave me a quote for the repair. However, they didn't explain how serious this issue could be or that it had the potential to ruin my engine if left unchecked. They also mentioned I would need new rear brakes soon, but since I couldn't afford both at the time, I put off the repairs and went on my way. Last week, I returned for another routine oil change and finally had the rear brakes replaced. I dropped the car off on a Friday and picked it up just before closing. While the brakes were fine, I immediately noticed the check engine light was on, which was not the case when I dropped the car off. I turned around and went back to the shop, where the technician admitted he thought he had "cleared the code" earlier. He cleared it again, but after driving for 10 minutes, the light came back on. Unfortunately, the shop is closed on weekends, so I had to wait until Monday to return. When I brought it in, I explained the issue again, but they said they would have to keep my car all day to look at it, but I had work so was unable to leave it. I was told to come back Thursday. Already feeling frustrated, I dropped the car off first thing Thursday morning, hoping they would finally resolve the issue. By late afternoon, I hadn't heard anything, so I called them. The response I got was vague, they weren't sure what the problem was, but they suggested changing the oil filter or possibly replacing the sensors, which would cost $530. But even they admitted they weren't sure if that would fix the problem and that it could be an underlying issue. At this point, I was confused and annoyed, so I took my car back without agreeing to further repairs. The next day, I took my car to a different mechanic, paid $150 for a diagnostic, and within an hour, they told me I had a severe oil leak around the timing chain and gaskets. This was apparently the cause of the check engine light, and they were shocked that Arvada German Garage had not caught or mentioned this issue. It was a serious problem that I was completely unaware of. I'm thankful I took my car to another shop before more damage occurred, but I'm extremely disappointed with the service and lack of communication from Arvada German Garage What started as a positive experience has turned into one of frustration and mistrust. I won't be returning to this shop, and based on my experience, I wouldn't recommend them to others.

The vehicles are packed in like sardines in a warehouse / garage. Some of the vehicles are on lifts along the wall. I was there about a week and a half ago. I went in and was greeted by a receptionist. I told her I was just browsing and I entered the area where the vehicles are. No one ever came over to me asking if I was looking or just browsing or if I had any questions. That's actually a good thing in my book. The vehicles for the most part were not prepped for show. Many had accumulated a layer of dust. Almost all were open and you are allowed to sit in them. It was a reminder to me how big most of the old 60's and 70's vehicles were. I sat in a mid 70's Lincoln and literally sank into the seat as if it was a couch in a living room. As for pricing on their site, much of their inventory is way below some of the other dealerships. I believe this is due to the fact that many of the cars they have are not "mint" or not all original. I spent roughly forty five minutes to an hour looking around. They had a lot of Ford Broncos, Mustangs, Chevrolet Impalas, Malibus and a few Chevelles. It was a nice "time killer" since this trip to Denver was work related. Looking at their online reviews it's a mixed bag. There is a lot of fraud and scamming in the classic car market currently. Many vehicles aren't what the sellers / dealers claim they are. And, I have no idea why anyone would buy a vehicle "site unseen" especially a classic where cloned vehicles are such a problem.
