I'm not sure why the reviews here are so harsh! I suppose those reviewers were helped by different employees than I had, because I had a great experience! I showed up at 7:30 AM on a Friday morning, and 2 cars were already in line ahead of me. So if you want to progress quickly once they open, get there early if it's a Friday! I have a feeling they are busier on that day. They opened promptly at 8AM and started taking customers. At my turn I told the employee helping me that I also had to do a vin verification and she said that was no problem. When I got to the employee would would be doing the test, I told him again that I needed a vin verification as well. (I had read the reviews and was worried they would miss doing it). He seemed like he hadn't known that I needed the vin so I'm glad I made sure. They ask you to leave your car and step aside to a long room with windows where you can see the inside of the shop. I waited about 10 minutes or less, and they told me I was all set! Went to the exit where my car was waiting and paid - $25 for the emissions, $25 for the vin verification, so $50 total. All in all, after opening I was there for about 20-25 minutes. Good experience, nice staff! Thanks guys! read more

Be Fair to the Air Okay, they did piss me off when I read the sign that they didn't take "credit cards." My own fault for STILL waiting in line (which took FOREVER) to ask if they only take cash. I was hoping debit card didn't apply to that sign. What was I even thinking?! So, please remember to bring cash or your check book! Thankfully I drove to the nearest US Bank in the King Soopers on Nelson & Hover. Not super close but not a bad drive. No ATM fee and I had a chance to get some banking done while I was there. I also decided to head to the Target next door to buy some tees since I planned on going there anyway. Sure, I went to Air Care CO early to beat the "rush," but apparently everyone thought the same thing. Just a little heads up! When I finally made my way back, mind you it's a Saturday morning around 10am at this point, only one person pulled in ahead of me at the exact time I got there. Not bad in comparison to the 5 cars ahead of me at 8:30am. It's really a no hassle place to get your emissions & VIN check. Emissions Test $25 VIN Inspection $20 I wanted to dock them so bad because they don't have an ATM on the premises but they were fast and friendly. It's like a emissions drive-thru service. The only things that might prolong your stay is a fail or the millions of other people that decided to go the same time you did. Waiting sucks but I'm glad my service went smoothly. DO NOT GO HERE!! Wish I could post a Negative Star. Worst experience ever!!! I have never dealt with more rude unhelpful staff - the manager in particular. Came in for a service that they provide clearly on their sign for VIN verification. Was third in line before opening told to move and that we were "not a priority. We'll get to you if we can - but it's not likely it's a Saturday". As the manager walked she instructed her staff not to help us. read more

I think this place is great. Showed up at 9:45AM on a Wednesday and no line. Quick, kind, and professional. Was in and out in no longer than 10 minutes. They informed me that after 24 hours from passing the emissions test, I can renew my tags online. They DO accept all major credit cards as of December 30, 2015. read more

Need a VIN verification to get my car registered. The DMV wouldn't do it because they are understaffed. They told me to come here. Went here with my husband as he needed both VIN verification and emissions testing done on his vehicle. There was a sign on the door that read "if you need a VIN verification, talk to someone at the service side of the building" or something to that effect. My husband asked about my VIN verification when the technician came to his car to start the emissions test. She said it would be no problem and just to let the person know at the end when we paid. The manager is the one that completed our transaction. When we told her we needed VIN verification for a second vehicle she got very annoyed and told us that she didn't know when she would have time to do it, that there was already someone waiting for one ahead of us, and that her priority was the line of cars waiting for emissions testing. She was very rude. She said that it's a "favor we do for the state" and that it wasn't a priority, so we could wait, but she didn't know how long we would be waiting. She isn't someone that should be dealing with the public in any capacity, in my opinion. If you need a VIN verification, save yourself the crappy experience and find a different location. read more

The Air Care Colorado location in Longmont, CO is now permanently closed due to closure after all of the staff there quit due to coronavirus concerns. This location is on Airport Road N. of Nelson Rd. in Longmont. However, the AC CO in Boulder, CO (ALSO on Airport Rd. off of east Valmont) is open. There was a line today, but from the time I pulled up and looked at the time (11:05AM) to the time I was actually driving out (11:43AM) wasn't too bad of a wait, although facing the sun midday wasn't fun. I wish AC CO would remove the Longmont location (until at least they can re-staff it). The reason I'm giving this 3 stars is because AC CO hasn't removed the Longmont location from their website. read more

First, know that it's cash only. The sign says it as soon as you pull in. $25 for the emissions test. $20 for VIN verification. This was as good as it gets with an emissions test. Got an emissions test and VIN verification. I went today (a Thursday) at about 3PM. I was there about 15 min total. 5 min in line with one car in front of me. 10 min in the waiting room for the test. VIN verification took about 2 minutes. Encountered three staff members. Everyone was nice and greeted me. Very helpful. Easy in, easy out. Went down to Coffman St and got my new registration in only about 20 min. I guess I won the bureaucratic lottery today. It was a good day. read more

Of all the possible choices in the county, this one is by far the best one and only one I go to. From the time you get out of your car, until you're driving away is roughly 10 minutes, which is pretty decent. They tend to have lanes closed but will begin to open more as the lines get to big allowing it the flow better which is nice. One of the other location won't open more and just let cars back up into the street. I have always found the staff to be friendly and courteous during the process, and I now suggest to everyone to just come here to get your emissions done. read more

They turned me away for a VIN inspection due to being short staffed and didn't offer anything but an apology for wasting my time.
