Sitting in the exit waiting for my resilts..

Be Fair to the Air Okay, they did piss me off when I read the sign that they didn't take "credit cards." My own fault for STILL waiting in line (which took FOREVER) to ask if they only take cash. I was hoping debit card didn't apply to that sign. What was I even thinking?! So, please remember to bring cash or your check book! Thankfully I drove to the nearest US Bank in the King Soopers on Nelson & Hover. Not super close but not a bad drive. No ATM fee and I had a chance to get some banking done while I was there. I also decided to head to the Target next door to buy some tees since I planned on going there anyway. Sure, I went to Air Care CO early to beat the "rush," but apparently everyone thought the same thing. Just a little heads up! When I finally made my way back, mind you it's a Saturday morning around 10am at this point, only one person pulled in ahead of me at the exact time I got there. Not bad in comparison to the 5 cars ahead of me at 8:30am. It's really a no hassle place to get your emissions & VIN check. Emissions Test $25 VIN Inspection $20 I wanted to dock them so bad because they don't have an ATM on the premises but they were fast and friendly. It's like a emissions drive-thru service. The only things that might prolong your stay is a fail or the millions of other people that decided to go the same time you did. Waiting sucks but I'm glad my service went smoothly. No complaints except...GET WITH THE TIMES & START ACCEPTING CARDS!!!

Emissions and vin verification. In and out fairly fast. I thought it was a reasonable price.

Replying to the previous review (7/13/2020) about this station being "permanently closed," it actually re-opened on July 20, 2020.

They turned me away for a VIN inspection due to being short staffed and didn't offer anything but an apology for wasting my time.

At my turn I told the employee helping me that I also had to do a vin verification and she said that was no problem.

My beloved car flunked emissions!!! The OBD-II said it was the gas cap, after the "Check Engine"…read morelight appeared. So I went to Auto Zone. $25 for a new gas cap. Got one for $10 and went through emissions testing. FAIL! Aieeeee. I got a 30-day extension for temp tags, but went out of town for two weeks. Came back, and threw myself on the mercy of the DMV. A wonderful, kind, helpful lady named Karen told me that another extension wasn't possible, BUT I could get a FREE DIAGNOSTIC TEST from the State!!! And possibly a one-year waiver! Bite me, dealer who wanted $296. I made an appointment for Friday, which was the earliest available, and also the day my temp tags expired. Ack! I had to bring my failed emissions test paperwork. I was greeted by a very nice lady, checked in, and directed to a spacious waiting room with a TV, magazines, and comfy chairs! I had settled in and was happily reading a magazine, when Mark came in and sat down. He said that the problem, as stated on the paperwork, was the gas cap. I said, nah, it's not the cap. I replaced the cap. He patiently told me that they run a specific test on the cap, and mine failed the test. He then asked where I got it, and I said, "Amazon." He said, that explains it. Told me to go to a reputable auto parts store Mark was AMAZING. He's employed by the CO Dept of Health, and has been a mechanic for 40 years. He explained that Air Care Colorado is a subcontractor for the testing. He also explained that since the State services are free, they can't do repairs etc. He answered ALL my questions, of which there were many. I said that I would never have known about this service if it wasn't for the wonderful DMV agent. He said that they can't (or don't) advertise. They're located right next to the emissions testing place. I asked what would happen if I got a new cap and the car flunked again. He said, "Then you come back and see me." I got a new gas cap, went through the emissions testing again, and PASSED. Dealer had said it might be a valve thing and could cost $1500-5000 to fix. Smh. $30 for a gas cap, and done. I cannot overstate how GREAT this service, and these people (Mark and nice lady) are. If your "Check Engine" light comes on, and/or your car flunks emissions in Southeast metro Denver, this is the place to go. Call for an appointment. I don't think that they take walk-ins.
