I really liked the people and the place for awhile but I was given a recommendation to change the brake fluid & radiator fluid. I agree'd thinking it would not cost anything more than $50 dollars. At check out the clerk informed it would be an additional $300 dollars. Not sure why this wasn't communicated to me if it was going to so high. Was not going to argue with the clerk since he already provided the service but just felt it was a deceptive to not inform the consumer the price until after he completed the service. This place this exact location is a joke! Bought a brand new car had it for a month tops, bring it here for an oil change and few days later my engine blows. Don't wanna take responsibility. Won't show video of oil added to my car. even had a mechanic look at it and say the same thing "engine blew cause no oil" I pay for a oil change and the manager has the nerve to state "we don't do a full oil change unless you're completely bone dry or low on the dip stick " very unprofessional and not worth it at all! I went over to this Grease monkey just to get an estimate on how much it would cost to change the oil on my Volkswagen bus I got a little too close to the manager Angelo's car and he got really upset and started cussing at me starting out with the f word I highly do not recommend going there this kid doesn't have respect for adults or customers. I work for a plumbing company and always bring the company trucks there. That has just changed I will also advise everyone I know to avoid that store. Would zero star if I could. They're thieves, and here's how/why. I went in for an oil change. Got it. Man came out telling me that my air filter needed replacing. I told him okay, do that. Then, after being advised by another waiting customer, I told another co-worker there (Tim) that I didn't want my filter replaced. Still, they charged me for the filter. But here's the kicker; while checking out, and after telling them I didn't want the filter replaced, they said "Oh, he didn't put a new one in anyway." So they were fully willing, prepared, and ABOUT TO charge me for a service they weren't even providing. That's why they're thieves, no less. Never going there again, nor to any other Grease Monkeys. Had much better, more personable experiences at Jiffy Lube. read more

Andrew + crew are an efficient blend of professional and casual. They were personable right from the first phone call through to the garage chatter during car service. I came to them needing some diagnostics on what turned out to be worn down wheel bearings. They referred me to another pro they trust who had the tools to do the work I needed, gave me honest and friendly disclaimers about service costs and care, checked my tires, reset my indicator lights, and sent me on my way with easily one of the most pleasant automotive service experiences. I took my company vehicle in for an oil change. I mentioned to them there was a headlight out and if they can replace. They said yes. So when it was all said and done I left thinking I got an oil change and headlight replaced. Come the next day I check the headlight and it was still out and had not been replaced. I was also missing my new 2021 sticker for license plate that I just picked up from my office which was brand new un opened in the envelope. When I I went to think I was going to put it on the license plate I noticed the envelope had been ripped open and the sticker was missing. This is a shady Grease monkey and I would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

I recently had my car serviced at the dealership (for a specific issue for the type of car) and had my 'report card' of things that the car urgently needed to be fixed. I went to this Grease Monkey hoping it would be cheaper than the price listed at the dealership. Shawn was AMAZING. He looked at my car with his employees, walked me through my 'report card' and was completely honest with me about what needed to be fixed. I asked for my belt to be replaced and he actually showed me the belt and why it was just fine. I vented my frustrations at being a woman and being taken advantage of in the car situations and he guaranteed that would not happen here, why? Because his wife was owner of the place and she is no-nonsense about it as is he. Seriously, I'm a customer for life now. read more

I show up and the attendant went straight to the break room. No one in sight to help me. I waited in the lobby for about 8 minutes. Went to the grease monkey 2 miles away and was helped right away and didn't even have to get out of my car! Do not recommend this location at all! read more

If someone tells you it's company policy to always replace the rotors on every brake job, turn around and find someone else. It is simply not necessary, rotors can often be reconditioned ("turned") and your brakes will be fine. I dropped my vehicle stating I would not authorize new rotors before anyone even looked at my car. Services rendered: 1 oil change 2 tire rotation 3 new brake pads I got a call and Grease Monkey was magically able to break what they claimed was company policy, and they slapped new pads on for $70 which is a fair price compared to ~ $300 if the rotors need to be replaced.........WHICH THEY DID NOT. The condition of my car when I got it back: Evidently they performed the oil change and rotated the tires. My brakes were GRINDING as I drove, even when they were not applied. There was MOTOR OIL on my floor mat Dark GREASE on the door handles and steering wheel Caliper bolts STRIPPED to the point of being almost completely rounded off The invoice did not reflect the actual miles on my car, they just MADE UP a number They claimed to have vacuumed my car; there was plenty of evidence this was NOT done, not that I even care. Just one more lazy or dishonest representation. When I took my car to a shop I trusted to see what the deal was, they found the rotors were intact but needed turning which they handled. They also adjusted the parking brake. They also produced the caliper bolts that Grease Monkey nearly destroyed before inexcuseably putting them back on my car. These people abdicated their professional and ethical responsibility by failing to inform me of the condition of my BRAKES. The way my vehicle was treated could only be described as spiteful of the fact that I know enough about cars to see when they tried to charge me unnecessarily. The only reason I let them work on my car at all was because they were open on a Saturday. Never again. read more

I recently wanted to to get a transmission flush but I guess the machine wasn't working properly, so the talked me into an exchange of fluid. there is no dip stick on the 2017 Altima and they basically had to guess. you would think they would have access to some kind of database or something. anyway it ended up being low after my visit and I had to put 2 more quarts. You can tell by the work they do on your vehicle that they value you as a customer. They fit me into a busy schedule to fix my broken strut and I'm super grateful for the work they've done! I came to this location after the 136th and Co. location was too busy. I got there and waited for a while and no one came out to greet me or see what I needed so I called. I just needed an oil change. The guy I talked to asked what kind of car I had and said they could get me in within 20 minutes. My baby was awake and fussing so I gave them my key and told them I was going to Kohl's across the street to kill time. I was in Kohl's for about 45 minutes to ensure they had plenty of time to do their thing. I came back and I went in to pay and no one was there. There was a bunch of guys in the garage goofing off, dancing, etc. finally someone noticed me and came in to tell me that they were out of the oil my car uses. Why didn't they call me 40 minutes ago to tell me that? I don't know. They were super curt and unapologetic. This totally wasted my time and ruined my entire day. I've been going to grease monkey for a long time but I won't be returning. I understand that it isn't their fault that they were out of the oil, but the way they went about it and wasted my time. Ridiculous. Their customer service could use some serious work. You'd probably be better off making an appointment somewhere else, it's just not worth it to come here and get jerked around. I'd rather pay 5X more than they charge here for decent courtesy and customer service. read more

Waited outside for 15 minutes with only a couple cars ahead of me, and had to step out of my car to wave an attendant down before even being greeted. Once they did start to service my car, they tried to convince me I needed add-ons and higher grade oil than is necessary for my vehicle. I suppose auto shops always think women are an easy mark. I just needed an oil change, and had to spend two hours of my day dealing with poor service here to get that done. I'll deal with the line at Valvoline next time and still get home faster, with a lower invoice as well. read more

I have had two occasions where I needed assistance, not an oil change but help. This shop both times went above and beyond to completely help me, never asked for a dime and helped me with nothing but smiles. The group that was there on the morning of 4/22 and a whole different group of workers a few months ago so it wasn't just one really nice person both times IT IS ALL OF THEM!!!! I can't explain the difficult situation I'm in and why I needed to go there but the fact that it happened twice shows just how wonderful they are at this location. I've only ever used this location off of 120th Ave next to Kohls. I've probably gone a total of about twenty times. The only reason I keep going is because I don't know how to change my oil. (Maybe I should learn?) I had a car I brought in all the time. If I was by myself they always felt the need to tell me my air filter needed changing. I always said no because even I can change that, and for half the price they charge. However, most times it doesn't even need to be changed. Make sure they show you your filter. If I'm with a man, they never ask me a thing. (I'm not over exaggerating, either.) They also get upset if you give them a coupon, too. I recently purchased a new car and so I'm new in their system again. I asked the guy if they still accepted the $6.00 off coupons they've had, literally, for years. He said "No, I've never seen them before". I almost told him to his face that he was lying. He wasn't very good at lying, either. It was pretty obvious. I knew he worked their for years and I knew he had to have seen those coupons multiple times. They're everywhere! I decided it wasn't worth the confrontation. Other than that he was really nice. My car was stuttering while I was pressing on the gas and they just knew what it was and pointed out what may be the issue, misfire + coil + spark plugs. On 7/6/16 I stopped at the Grease Monkey location on 120th and Colorado Blvd in Thornton(right by the Kohls and Wells Fargo). I was just driving by and saw they were offering free computer scans, something the dealership charges up to $150 for. My engine was not functioning properly and I wanted them to take a look at it. As soon as I pulled in, the mechanics promptly greeted me, asked me what I came in for and starting running the computer scan on my car. Floyd was able to look at the codes and get a rough idea of what was needed and suggested I leave my car with him so he could professionally diagnose the situation. When I left my car, Floyd was able to diagnose that my Vtech solenoid wire was frayed/unconnected and that was causing my cylinders to misfire. He looked into other possibilities and found this to be it, fixed it, and took my car for a test drive and it is as good as new. Floyd and the guys at Grease Monkey saved me a lot of time and money. Other places were telling me my manual transmission was dying and I should throw this Honda Civic with 133,000 miles away. Another place wanted $125 to diagnose the problem and almost in the thousands to fix a bunch of other stuff and replace the Vtech solenoid mechanism itself. The thing I liked about working with Grease Monkey and Floyd is they really wanted to look at my car and find the problem, not just replace a bunch of stuff and see if it sticks. Floyd always looked me in the eye when talking, was more than happy to field my questions and inquiries, and actually did what he said he was going to do. If are needing repair work, anything from oil to tires or something as serious as the engine, I would definitely check out this Grease Monkey location. Put in the wrong oil in my car, when I noticed they put in the wrong oil, insisted it was manufacturer recommended. 231k miles on a 20 year old car calls for THICKER not THINNER OIL. I have been very fortunate to have had some AWESOME cars in my time and I mean car-show quality cars that have won awards at various car shows... * PLAIN AND SIMPLE PEOPLE: I ONLY take my cars to "Floyd" and his great crew at this Grease Monkey location and I'm happy to tell you why! Last year, I took my 1957 custom Ford Custom300; a multi-award winner that was featured on MECUM Auctions here in Denver earlier this year, to Floyd and his crew. Already a car-show quality car, Floyd and his crew fixed up only the last few little things it needed... certainly for a car like this, if he wanted to, he could have easily charged for more things and time but he CHOSE NOT TO because "Floyd" and his team have an appreciation and respect for people and for their cars...period! This past month, I had my 1975 Corvette Stingray newly painted and I ONLY trusted Floyd and his team to help me out with the original cracked bumpers that they took off (40-year old bumpers...not fun!), I got the car painted (gorgeous!?!?!) and then drove it right back to Floyd to have the newly painted new bumpers installed and they did a PHENOMENAL JOB; honest work at an honest price! * And now it's ready for auction later this month at the Convention Center (11/28)! This is what it really comes down to past, present and future...if you can find a repair shop that has trustworthy people, GO THERE and STAY THERE for your car repair needs because life's too damn short to be driving all around town getting ripped off here and there...it adds up and quickly! I'm grateful for Floyd's time, patience and excellent real-world work! I too have been going to this particular location for YEARS. I have NEVER had a bad or unpleasant experience. This last time that I went about a week ago I was very impressed with the manager, I feel bad now because I can't remember his name but he was certainly nice and again appreciative of my business which in this economy is a plus. The rest of the staff seemed happy enough to be there with the exception of one person who looked like he was being murdered slowly and wanted to be anywhere but there, can't judge that though, maybe he was having a bad day or his life sucked at that particular moment....ya never know. I have to agree with the previous poster though, they definitely don't like coupons and I say, why make them available if you don't like honoring them? Anyway, I know I don't keep up good regular maintenance on my vehicle, shame on me, and I also know NOTHING about them so if they tell me something needs replaced I usually go with it and that's the price I pay for being ignorant about something so important. Overall I like these guys, always have and I will go back because they are nice and usually do a fantastic job!! =) read more

WARNING!!!!! I took my car in for an oil change a few weeks ago. The mechanic said I need brakes right away and that it would cost over $400. I told the mechanic I would need some time to think about it due to it being so expensive. A week later I was in at another auto shop because their price was a better deal to get the brakes done. They stated I don't need any because they are practically brand new and did not need brakes. I'm not happy that this place tried to hustle me hundreds of dollars for something I did not need. This is the most honest oil change/garage that I've ever been to. I took my 4Runner there to get winterized and thought I needed things that I didn't and Dwayne was honest and told me that I didn't. He saved me about $90 and won my ongoing business. I strongly recommend them because it's rare to see that level of honesty in the mechanic business. I've been going to this Grease Monkey for about 8 months now. The guys are always very cool. They haven't recommended changing my air filter. But they show you the filter. If it looks nasty and you want to make the effort of going to an auto parts store to buy one, do it. These guys have always been very nice to me and talk to me, not at me.
