There are plenty of signs throughout the airport indicating where you need to go to get the Tram (though, heads-up, depending on what gate you're coming from/going to, it could be a very long walk). Pass the enormous E D I N B U R G H letters outside the airport, and you'll see the ticket kiosks (pricing is currently £7.50 for a single, or £9.50 for an open return - the better value! I think you also save 50p if you pre-purchase online). Trams to the city from the airport run every seven to ten minutes, it takes about thirty to thirty-five minutes from the airport to either the Princes St or St Andrews Square stop (admittedly, I've never traveled beyond these two stops). There's spacious luggage racks to store your bags, plenty of seats for everyone, and it's noticeably clean as well. Make sure you have your ticket on you so they can check it (because they will). This is definitely the least stressful way to travel to/from the airport!

Personally, I'd rather get from A to B without getting a headache from the in-your-face purple, turquoise and blue décor they plaster the insides of their buses with. And I also don't understand how they can justify charging more than Lothian Buses do - First cover a fraction of the routes that Lothian do, and Lothian's buses are much cleaner inside and run to timetable a lot more than First. More expensive, not by that much, First Bus Company are really pushing it! If I was paying more, I would expect a more direct route than other services, better conditioned buses, bus services which are on time (Very annoying!) and cheery bus drivers. I got none of these things, the bus was late, I was worried that the double decker First bus was going to break down and the bus driver didn't even let me try and sit down before he stormed off! People of Edinburgh, just stick with Lothian buses, they convenient, mostly on time and cost less than First Buses!

This small station is located at the higher end of North Queensferry and proudly stands over the rest of this coastal town. And it is its position which make the station standout on the rail route towards Edinburgh. With great views of the city of Edinburgh and its surrounding areas, tourists flock here with their cameras. Furthermore, this station is used, along with Dalmeny as a hop off and on station for crossing the Forth Rail Bridge. The station is small and is set in the Victorian mould with the main building and bridge. One of the walls at the station has been decorated by local school children with an image of the iconic bridge and the Firth of Forth. As a frequent train traveller I have formed an admiration for these small, old stations which almost look out of place in our villages and towns. However, North Queensferry train station certainly adds some character to the place and is well worth a visit for train station enthusiasts!

Situated just outside Inverkeithing and just off the A90 is Ferrytoll park and ride. This park and ride service allows users to park their cars in a secure car park and get a bus through to Edinburgh. The bus service is mainly run by Stagecoach, and the services in the morning and evening are very busy! However, the prices are not bad at all, and are cheaper than going via train! I have only used it a couple of times and I found the service quite fast and only took around twenty minutes to get into the centre of Edinburgh. From Edinburgh you can get buses back from the bus station or George Street. A great service by all accounts and a great way to get cars of the road in Edinburgh!

Apart from the really obvious things to like about this bus, I think overall it is very modern & clean. The combination of new green seating & a more pleasant florescent lighting is much better on the eyes, Im pretty sure the windows might have a different tinted affect as well. I think the new progress/stop tracker & the announcement voice are really valuable additions for locals & tourists who have no idea where they are. Im still unsure as to what the space behind the driver is actually for but overall I think this bus is really great & is a lot nicer than the tacky primary colour tartan buses- and its a lot better on the environment! Its nice to see a bit of that in Edinburgh!

We used the ticket machine but a helpful employee also checked on us to make sure we're weren't having any problems. She then directed us to the next tram. It was very easy. I know that many in our tour group also used the tram when they arrived in Edinburgh and they had no problems either. The ride was uneventful, and quick until we arrived in the city. The tram was clean and quiet and we felt safe using it. As a visitor, I am aware that any discussion regarding the tram can get very political and heated but we really liked the convenience. We also had no problems buying tickets at the station when we traveled from St Andrews Square to the West End a few times. As it was festival season, the trams were quite crowded at times but the ride was always smooth and quick enough. We didn't use it when we returned to the airport as our departure was at 3am but if ever the tram ran all night, we would certainly use it.

I decided to get the tram and apparently you cannot buy tickets onboard. As a tourist I had no way to know this and was fined £10 which was my entire travel budget for my stay. The buses are modern and comfortable and all buses have a buggy bus and disabled access. Another great feature is that the bus driver gives you change instead of putting the bus fare into a little box and you pay the exact amount unlike other bus companies. They also supply luxury buses for functions and the service they provide is great.

There's no attempt at any artistic merit at the platform level; however that is redeemed largely by the fantastic Alasdair Gray mural on the entrance concourse wall. I feel they have missed a trick with the refurbishment by not taking the opportunity to install LED lighting and incorporate more design elements on the platforms. It's hard to maintain the sense of individuality that the stations used to have when they are all bright white tiles. Some design motifs would have helped, and with LED lighting they would not only be more eco-friendly, they could change the mood of the lighting to suit the occasion. The best it can be described as is functional and utilitarian. But I do love the mural upstairs.

It has both staffed and self-service ticket…read moresales points and it has plenty of space in the main entrance and six turnstiles for its hundreds of customers - Hillhead is one of the busiest subway stops in the city. It also has that cool Alastair Grey tiled mural and a coffee shop. This stop is especially handy for Byres Road, the Botanic Gardens and the University of Glasgow which goes some way to explaining why its one of the busier stops on the Clockwork Orange. It's definitely a bit crowded at peak times but the regular rate of trains passing through mean that this isn't normally an issue. It has just reopened following works to modernise the subway in (summer 2016). However, since these works were necessary for sections of track at the depot, rather than for the stations themselves, it looks more or less the same as it did before.
