Our AC went out Saturday evening and we called around all Sunday to find a company willing to come out same-day. We discovered Elite Cooling through the Nextdoor app and gave them a call. In less than two hours, Charles was at our door and replaced the capacitor of our AC unit in under thirty minutes. He was informative, friendly and answered all of our questions. The service was also very affordable, which is always a plus! I highly recommend Elite Cooling if you want a fast, friendly, reliable and affordable AC repair company! We will definitely use this company for any other service or repair needed in the future. I have used Elite comfort two different times since moving to Houston over a year ago. The most recent involved replacing our entire ac system. The capacitor first went out, which we replaced. Then the fan motor went out. Before we were able to replace that, the condenser went out. Every time we had a technician out, they were kind, polite, and gave us our options without being pushy. We didn't have the money to replace the entire system so we were only able to replace the outside unit, and the coils. We have plans to replace the heater/fan as soon as we are able to afford it. You can bet that we will go through Elite to do so. I initially reached out to Elite Comfort Home and Commercial Services because the pilot light wouldn't stay lit on my furnace. I called on Friday 11/1/19 and they didn't have any same day appointments so they came out the following day, Saturday 11/2/19. First of all, they never called before coming out on Saturday and then the technician put the wrong address into his GPS and couldn't find us even though out house is less than a mile from their office. After a lot of going back and forth, he finally arrived, looked at the furnace, and said that it needed a new pressure switch. But their supplier store isn't open on Saturdays so we had to wait until Monday. He said that he couldn't be certain but that the price would be somewhere in the neighborhood of $110 plus the $80 trip fee that we were already paying. So me, my husband, and 2 kids bundled up under multiple layers and blankets throughout the weekend to keep from freezing. Come Monday 11/4/19, they never called to schedule the appointment; I had to call them. Once they confirmed that they had the part, they scheduled an appointment for that afternoon. When I asked for the final price, they called me back and left me a voicemail indicating a total additional charge of $128, which was in line with what the technician said on Saturday (again, in addition to the $80 trip fee I paid on Saturday). Then they couldn't find our house again and ended up driving all the way to downtown Houston looking for us when, again, we're less than a mile from their office in downtown Humble. Again, a lot of back and forth and waiting and he finally arrived. Once he finally arrived on Monday, he said that the part was $330, not the $128 they left on my voicemail. When we produced that voicemail, they honored the price but kept saying that they're losing money on this repair. It warmed up outside and we didn't need the heater again until this morning, Friday 11/8/19. But, when we went to turn it on, it was blowing cold air. So I called them back. They agreed to come back out but said that there next available wasn't until 6-8pm this evening. I was concerned that we might need an additional part and confirmed with the receptionist that their supplier store closed at 5pm that evening and wouldn't be open again until Monday. I asked if we could be moved up since we had already gone through a whole weekend without heat. The receptionist declined to do that so I reluctantly proceeded to schedule the appointment for 6-8pm this evening. After talking with a few coworkers, I was told that the pressure switch shouldn't be any more than approx. $50-$75, not $128 and certainly not $330. So I called EZ Comfort Air Conditioning and Heating. They quoted me $75 for a trip fee. They came out within 2 hours of my initial call to them and they had no issue in finding our home. When the technician looked at the unit, he said that Elite did not do a complete job. From his invoice to me for the trip fee, EZ Comfort stated: "Complete heat check up. Found pressure switch cutting off. Hose and inducer motor were dirty. Cleaned hoses. Heater started up and remains on. System is fairly new. Filters are clean. No signs of any gas leak. Heater is now working properly." So Elite did not do a complete job in cleaning the hoses, inducer motor, etc., which cost us an additional day without heat (could have been longer), the time and trouble of finding another company, and $75 for EZ Comfort's trip fee. And everything that went on today could have been avoided if the technician on Monday 11/4 would have done a complete job. I'm very frustrated with the lack of care and professionalism that Elite Comfort has shown. I will be using EZ Comfort Air Conditioning in the future. read more

I had gotten a quote from Elite Air Conditioning and it was over 60% higher then my final quote. They charged me over $400 to check out my air conditioning. I was really upset at myself that I let the technician perform his test. This test was really just for him to make extra money and he was so convincing that I let him do it. read more

Called at 10:30 PM on Friday and Chris came out to fix the unit on Saturday. He was on time, polite, knowledgable and most importantly fixed my air conditioner. Rather than try to up sell me on buying a new unit, he fixed my existing equipment. He had the parts on hand and completed all repairs on the first call. After the service company I used for more than 10 years wouldn't call with a repair cost and schedule, despite my calling several times over a 3-day period, I called Elite Comfort yesterday morning. I chose them because they were a Trane-authorized company and had highly favorable online reviews. I spoke with Chris, who verified in less than 5 minutes that the needed part was under warranty and he could have a technician come out that afternoon (on a weekend). The technician, Dave, showed up promptly as scheduled, was professional and competent, explained everything, asked if I needed anything else, and answered all my questions. Would like to say if you want honest prompt work done at a decent price I strongly recommend this company. I had an AC issue and was not only over quoted by another company but was pushed hard for their upsale. I went o the BBB website along with Yelp to find a company close to me that had good reviews. Called Elite on a Sunday, a technician named Charles came out Monday, diagnosed my AC problem for a third of the other company. The technician never tried to upsale me and was very courteous and knowledgeable about my AC issue. They will be here tomorrow which is a Tuesday to fix the issue. I have to say that it is nice to find a company that is not all about sucking the money out of their clients pockets but more about actually fixing their problem for a decent price. I was in desperate need of someone to check my home AC unit because it just one day stop working. To make matters worst it's summer and when in Texas we don't kid around the summer heat. I don't know much about air conditioning but what I know is that if you start to have issues with it, worst case scenario is it's not going to be cheap. I called them up and the lady who answered had a very calming voice almost to a point that I already sensed that I will be taken cared of. At first she said that they don't have any body available till the next day to get someone to come and check my AC unit; then I said today is my only availability and my kids are just having a hard time without air conditioning. She put me on hold for a few minutes and somehow she was able to set me up the same day I called and said they'll send someone to check my unit. Not only did they send someone; they actually sent the owner of the company Mr. Charles. Very humble guy and gave my unit a thorough check up and the good news was I only needed a freon boost. I was so relieved that that was the only issue with my unit although I may need to replace a part for my AC on the future, he will give me an estimate for it. Once he got it fixed before he left, he doubled check everything and made sure that everything is back to working condition. Now that's what you call GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE. AC went out last night around 11pm. Called elite and they actually picked up. Tried to get a technician over but it was unavailable. Luckily it was a cooler night. They sent Chris A over first thing in the morning but I was still wary bc I've been burned by other ac repair shops before. Chris was awesome, did a diagnostic and told me my frion was low and that's all I needed. Didn't try to sell me a leak charge or a warranty. The scheduling process was super fast and very easy. They were very professional and prompt. The tech that came out was super nice and you could tell he really cared. He figured out the supposed issue and came back later that night to put a temp fix in place. The only drawback I had was that I felt pressured that he wanted me to make a decision that night on a very expensive repair and sign the estimate. I work in sales and know the value of getting a second opinion, and as soon as he found that out, his tune changed. He originally wasn't going to charge me for the service call but decided to tack that on to my bill once I mentioned getting a second opinion. That didn't sit well with me. I was already paying for the quick fix he performed. They charge $150 for the first pound of freon and $90 per pound after that. The second company I had come out only charges $75 per pound for the same freon so not sure why they charge so much for the exact same product. I had wanted an honest opinion on parts being replaced or if I could get some more time out of them....they made it seem like I really needed a $6,000 repair. The second company that came out gave me a better price for the same work, including the same warranty, and were upfront that I could probably get more time out of my unit before doing an expensive repair. All in all, they were good to work with and I understand they are in business to make money, I just preferred the pricing and honesty of the other company better. read more

Get multiple quotes. I had multiple contractors come out, and Elite's quote was by far the highest. And other contractor's quoted better units. Maybe they decided to raise their prices after a little success from good reviews on Yelp? I went with ProTex Comfort Control based on a recommendation from a coworker. Protex replaced my AC unit for 1800, and Elite quoted me almost 3000. I googled the AC units they quoted and the unit Protex quoted was more expensive. read more

Our house was built in 1949. They came in and checked out our old equipment, attic and all. Then they came back with 3 options and pricing for our needs/budget. So it wasn't one size fits all, to me it was custom to our home. So, at 3pm, my A/C stops blowing. Yay. I called around and most people said they could not get to me until tomorrow at 4pm. That is NOT going to work in 100+ temps. So, I called Elite and the phone was promptly answered and I was told they could get someone out in an hour or so. Yeah, baby! The dispatcher said she would call me to let me know when he was on his way. About an hour later, the dispatch calls to say he was on his way. Not too much longer on, Scott arrived. He quickly assessed our issue and gave us the good news and the bad. Bad news was the stores were closed and the part he needed was not available otherwise. Good news was for a fee, we could get someone to open the store and sell him the part. OK by me. He went to get the part after assuring us that he was coming back. He sure did.
