This company is a complete scam. They sent a technician out to our house last week. We called them for a routine cleaning. Two new parts and thousands of dollars later. The AC was making so much strange noise that our plumber said "the guy who fixed your AC made it worse." It sounded awful. Came back from vacation and the unit is completely dead. Highly recommend that you get a line by line item cost breakdown in the quote so that you know exactly what you are paying for. My first experience with this company several years ago was so positive that I didn't think to ask, but things change. Not recognizing that fact was my first mistake. The estimate was high, but you pay for premium service, right? A job done right the first time. The crew showed up and got started. I went back and checked on things a couple of times during the service call. Finally, the crew boss let's me know they are done. I take one look at the finished product and paused a full minute before replying. The metal housing around the copper line was sealed with what looked like mud. Not nicely applied evenly layered mud. It literally looked like someone had taken a bucket of dark mud and splattered it against the light colored exterior wall. I inform them this has to be redone. Crew boss looks unhappy and ask ME if I have a caulk gun. Hang on it gets worse. I do and loan them the tool. I come back later and check on progress. They announce they are finally done. I hope so because I am fairly DONE myself. I notice one side is caulked but only part of the other side is . Crew boss offers to come back and finish tomorrow or he informs me that I can always finish myself. He said I just need to run to the hardware store and buy some caulk. Yeah, you read it right. He said that. You can't make this stuff up. read more

Below is a summary of our experience with Optimal Air. We won't be using them again and suggest that you look elsewhere for HVAC service. June: Room temps weren't balanced, so we found Optimal Air found online. They completed a diagnostics visit, suggested to replace 3 damper motors and upgrade the control board to Lennox Harmony 3 for better function, the AC worked fine all summer with these adjustments November: Try to turn heat on for the first time since Optimal Air completed service, but the unit is not heating the house and some areas of the house are now COLD. I tracked down the problem to be the control board and requested Optimal Air come double check their installation. Technician confirmed the Lennox Harmony 3 board was not compatible with our system and would be out the next day to replace it as he didn't have the part with him. The next day the technician replaced the Harmony 3 board with a Honeywell HZ311. As he was working on it, I confirmed the heating was working but I did not know what was controlling the system. I noticed the new Honeywell board did not provide as many features as the Lennox, so I searched the pricing as I paid for an upgraded control system in June. The current market values for consumers show the Lennox board to be about $750 more than the Honeywell. Repair companies like Optimal Air can get them at different prices, but that's a big difference in the product I paid for and what I now have. I requested to be refunded the difference, Optimal Air "got their management to agree" to $100 and claimed their invoice difference between the two installs is normally $50 less for the Harmony. Online Prices and (Source) Lennox Harmony 3: $1049 (Supply House), $911 (Controls Central), $899 (Amazon) Honeywell HZ311: $143 (Supply House), $175 (Controls Central), $130 (Amazon) December: We attempted to run the heat for the first time since the Honeywell was installed, but it would not heat. Again, a request was made for Optimal Air to check their completed work. A technician was available that same day and was able to solve the problem of inadequate wiring connections made to the control board. The heat has been working properly since then. In summary, you may want to consider using a different company for your HVAC needs. They deserve credit for having technicians available with urgency. Technically, we should have never been presented the Harmony 3 board as it was not compatible with our system and the replacement control board connections were not done properly on a repair visit. Financially, it is obvious the two control boards are not of the same level and the cost of product difference is questionable in Optimal Air's billing. Personally, we had to make work arrangements to be available at home during four separate and lengthy service time slots and the lack of heating led to our children sleeping in cold conditions on two occasions. read more

Hired to replace HVAC system back in 2019 it was a nightmare. One of the partners was very unprofessional and communicated extremely unprofessionally and his partner had to step in. After the installation of the new HVAC system the crew damaged the attic door and frame when they removed and reinstalled, at first they refuse to make repair but after showing them the photos they sent a third part to attempt to fix it. It was worst, I spoke to One of the partners who then said he will have the attic door replaced, when replaced the door did not close properly, as an final solution they placed a heat barrier. They also said for all the problems they will extend maintenance, never received any maintenance . It was too frustrating to deal with them that I just did not want them back. read more

We had a bad clog in our main a/c condenser line that was resulting in water draining out of emergency line. Eric came out and asked all the key questions like where is the main line and where does the condenser line lead to. He ended up giving solid advice and took care of the issue as sufficiently and thoroughly as possible. He also checked and cleaned all the evaporator coils, tracked pressures and temperatures, blew out the emergency condenser line, and also helped me understand what the condition of was for my entire system. He gave us solid and honest next steps without overselling his point. And I like that he took his time to make sure I understood what he was doing and was open in receiving/answering questions. I wound up having mixed feelings about Optimal, but at the end of the day, they got the job (mostly) done. I'll walk you through my experience and you can judge for yourself. I have an air handler in a tight spot indoors. I went out and got 4 quotes. Optimal was the highest by about 20%, BUT they were the only contractor who was smart enough to find a unit the same size that would fit in the space. Everyone else's plan was to rip out the wall, install their standard unit, and good luck to me on fixing the walls and redesigning my room. That alone won me over in using them. Here's the part where I was most unhappy: It was installed improperly the first time. It had massive air leaks all around the handler. When I called to report the problem to their office staff, they sent someone who didn't really address the problem. Here's the part where I was most happy: I sent an e-mail to the owner describing the issue with pictures that Saturday afternoon. Within hours, he had responded by both e-mail and text to set up an appointment to reinstall the whole unit. Shortly after, they pulled the entire unit out, redid the connection, and even had someone come out to patch a hole they had to cut in the wall. Mistakes happen when doing this kind of work. Sometimes it takes a few tries to get everything right. It's how companies deal with those mistakes that sets apart the garbage from the quality companies, and Optimal delivered. A little disappointment when later that week the connection busted again... So I had them out a fourth time. I could tell everyone was getting a little frustrated on both sides... They were tired of coming out and I was tired of meeting them at home during work hours. But I'll say that throughout the affair, though you could sense the frustration, all their employees were very professional. When I kicked the unit back on later, I noticed there was still some air leakage, but nothing nearly as bad as before. I bought some mastic paste myself and finished the job plugging those gaps. I'm now happy to say there is minimal air leakage, as far as I can tell. So, it took four trips and two full reinstalls, but I wound up with what I had wanted and what I was promised. It was a bit painful to go through, but I can tell you that a lot of other companies would not have handled it this well. So... A bit of a pain with a poor initial install, but I was happy with how everything else turned out. I don't regret my decision, because they still went about it in the best way compared to what other companies presented us. This is why you ALWAYS thoroughly check any job when someone works on your home. Even if you have no idea what you're looking at, throw some common sense at it. UPDATE: I've used them to troubleshoot some minor issues, and Buddy has been helping me out. Very professional and a nice helpful guy. Once again Andrew saved the day. he fixed the problem that we had related to the drip pan drainage into our downstairs powder room. he didn't get paid for this tip. He actually suggested that I use liquid fire in my downstairs sink that the drip tray empties into. that free tip saved me I don't know how much money never mind the excellent service I always get from Optimal air solutions. i paid $89 to oas to diagnose a problem with one of my furnaces. it need two switches replaced under a full parts warranty. they charged me $300 in labor to install, which took less than 15 minutes. this is an outrageous charge. i would mot recommend!! read more

Purchased a new 3.5 ton Lennox Air System with Optimal in March 2021. Everything was great until I noticed the system didn't appear to be cooling properly. The system was still under warranty so I had the guy's at Optimal come out and inspect the system. After inspecting the system they decided to replaced a few components in effort to resolve the cooling issue. Unfortunately that did not appear to resolve the problem. After troubleshooting the until it was later determined that the NEST thermostat that was previously installed prior to the new system was not compatible with the new system. I spoke with Ryan the owner and he offered to re wire the system at no charge to ensure my family was happy with the purchase. Optimal Air came out 3 times to fix the same problem, A/C not cooling, temp reaching 83 F. I paid staff 1st and 3rd visit before leaving. After staff left on the third visit, I called the office to confirm they performed all the services on the invoice to resolve the problem, since temp was not dropping from now 85 F. They stated they know they resolved the problem, but could not report the list of services or items completed. They stated to trust them, they have the problem resolved, call back if not. I stated I was looking for the list of what was done to compare with the list on the estimate. Wasn't able to get a list (punch list) from staff on site, can't confirm that I got what I paid for. I do not recommend Optimal Air, can not confirm after 3 visits my A/C problem is resolved and staff not able to confirm I got what I paid for. read more

Well, the story is the same as most. Every summer my A/C would stop cooling and instead of doing the right thing, I would have some random company recharge the system for me and move on. Short Review: Excellent Service/ Price/ Company - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED Long Review: A coworker suggested Optimal after he had his A/C completely replaced and told me to give them a call for a quote. I had already received a quote from another company but decided to give Optimal a try. Called the company and a very nice person answered the phone and asked a couple of questions before scheduling an appointment. I received a Text message and email immediately after I hung up confirming the appointment. Within the hour I received another message and email letting me know who was coming to my house for the quote. Day of Quote: The next day, I received notice when the tech (Joey) was on the way to my home. He showed up a little early which was extremely appreciated! Joey, was very professional, performed a complete walk through and evaluation of my system. He made a recommendation and provided a price better than my first quote. I never told him about the first quote, so this was Optimal's standard great pricing. After he provide the quote, I received an email not more than 5-10 minutes later with the exact details of the work he offered, in writing with the price!!! No games! I approved the quote and was notified of my scheduled appointment for the next day. Day of the Install: I received notification that they were en route and once again showed up a little early!! Yep, they are consistent with this good service thing, and I love it! The first tech (Eric) walked the house to identify areas that he would need to place drapes, to protect the floors. (Yep that good service again!) Then an additional 2 techs (Jorge and Chris) showed up to begin the work. My gate to the backyard was too small for the new unit, so they removed it and replaced it after they were done. While they worked, my original contact for the quote Joey stopped by to verify everything was delivered as discussed and verified if I had any questions. (Service Again!) They finished the work, cleaned up well, tested the system and walked me through everything until I was pleased. Would I recommend them, yes without hesitation and at this point I'm ready to be their spokesperson after receiving this type of service. This type of experience is rare these days, but it seems to come naturally for Optimal. The Trane system is installed and the house is ice cold!! They are always polite starting with the scheduler, on time and their pricing is not only fair but very competitive. I have found them to be trustworthy and they do not try to upsell the service and often times they offer alternatives solutions to whatever my issue may be. Currently I use them for my semi annual maintenance of my three air conditioner/heating units and I find this service to be very valuable and well worth the cost. Called in November to have our heating/AC looked at for a heating issue stemming from a previous problem. The obnoxious joker who showed up was not very forthcoming and we should have picked up on that. This young man did not want to be here; his demeanor and attitude certainly showed that. He spent some time in our attic talking to someone (I assume more knowledgeable) on his cell phone, sighing and grunting and after an hour or so pronounced that our heat kit among some other things needed replacement. He made notes on some things but said he would research where he could get the replacement part(s) and would get back to us with an estimate about the work that needed to be done. About a day or two later I received an obnoxious ONE-LINER TEXT MESSAGE saying that he could not find a replacement. Are you kidding me??? The nice lady who schedules the appointments called a few days later trying to rectify the situation but we had enough. I'm not sure what he was doing sitting outside our house for an eternity after the appointment but judging by the big shiny noisy pick up truck; he obviously didn't need our business. Apparently sighing and grunting seems to work for this individual as he gets paid no matter what. Honestly, we did not want to risk them sending that idiot back and having to deal with his arrogance? weirdness? Crackhead? I don't know...I don't want to know whatever that punk had going on; I want no part of it in my home. It was unacceptable. read more

Optimal installed 2 Trane units for me 4 years ago in 2018. The install was great and I have been pleased with the units. One quit working last week so I called to have a technician come out. They were able to get someone out the same day, which was great, and confirmed the 10 year warranty on parts. They told me there would be a $89 diagnostic charge. The technician arrived that evening, came inside and confirmed the blower was working and went outside to confirm that the fan and compressor were not. That was the extent of the diagnostics. In 5 minutes he had a new capacitor installed and the unit blowing cold again. I could not have been happier until the technician gave me a price of $384, $89 for the diagnostics plus $295 for the capacitor. I told him that the part should be under warranty. He then agreed but wasn't able to find that part on the warranty list. He found a similar but less expensive capacitor that was on the warranty list and said he could discount my invoice with that warranty savings and that I could call the office the next day and that they should be able to fund the right part on the list and take care of it. So I gave the tech my credit card and he charged it for $283. I called the office the next morning and proceeded to get the "I need to talk to this manager or that manager" for several days. I had to keep calling back. Then I was finally told that the part was covered under warranty but the charge was for the labor to install it. I told them that even if I said it took 10 minutes to install, which it did not, that would still come to a rate of $1,698 per hour. They replied they have a fixed charge to install a capacitor and because I had already paid, they could not go back and change it. But they could give me a discount the next time I call them out. Like I would make that mistake again..... I looked up the capacitor on Amazon and it is available from multiple sources for between $15 and $20. It literally takes 5 minutes to install with no more than a screw driver and a pair of pliers. I feel like the part should have been covered by the warranty and that the $89 diagnostic charge should have covered the 5 to 10 mins it took the tech to confirm the blower was working, the outside unit was not and change out the capacitor. The warranty is pretty much useless if it saved me $15 but still cost me close to $300 for 5 minutes of work. I feel like Optimal did not stand behind their install and quite frankly that they ripped me off. read more

I would highly recommend Optimal Air Solutions for anyone who is in need of air conditioning needs. I was able to get a hold of them on Easter evening, which is very impressing. Joe came out the very next morning, on time and on the early side of time window they initially told me. It should also be noted that you receive text messages letting you know when they are in route. After I described the issue, he knew exactly where to look and sure enough Joe diagnosed the problem within minutes.
