I met with Grossman to swap out a toilet & the water controls in a shower (non-emergency service call). Matt came to my house to provide an estimate. We scheduled a time for him to return a few days later (11/2020). They came and they did a good job. There were no economic surprises. They cleaned up their mess and everything works fine. Fast forward to the following morning day: they came exactly at the time they'd promised and got the job done at the time they'd estimated. This sounds elementary, and it is, but I still fell into this trap because I trusted the man, who had me sign his tablet even though I wasn't able to read a word on it. I should have refused. The bill for his simple 30 minutes of labor turned out to be a whopping $2,150. I learned later that a fair charge would have been $600.
