Went to Hyundai Dealership for an AirBag light. Hyundai wanted $175.00 for one hour of "Tech" time to determine what is causing the issue. So -- my bill was going to be $175.00 PLUS the cost of any repair. The cost of repair could be a few thousand dollars for a "Seat Matt Senor to a few hundred dollars to reset the system." Called around and found "AirBag Tech". Rod told me to bring the car to him and he'll check out the issue and tell me what he can do. $95.00 dollars later, Rod reset the system and it seems to be working fine. My airbag light came on for no reason on my Hyundai Elantra. I took it to Keyes Hyundai dealership since I thought it might be a clockspring issue, which would be covered under an extended warranty. The dealership told me it was another problem, so they would need to charge me $175 per hour for a diagnostic to confirm the issue. I assumed they're either lying or going to charge me hundreds if not thousands of dollars to fix it, so I searched around to get a second opinion. Honestly, I was a bit hesitant at first to bring my car to Rodrigo because there weren't too many reviews and he works out of his house. BUT thankfully I took the chance. Rodrigo was friendly and professional. Plus it was really easy to set up an appointment. As he was diagnosing and repairing the issue, he told me step by step what he was doing. I don't know what happened previously but Rod is a "national treasure" when it comes to getting your airbag lights OFF....and the system working...for a reasonable price! I want to preface this review by saying that I am a critical person who rarely writes reviews. In this case I would have been ashamed not to write a review. The service provided by Rod Salas was exceptional and outstanding. Airbag problems appear not always to be straight-forward as was the case with my problem. We think of a technician only needing to hook up an analyzer, read off the problem, and replace an item. Not so. The solution for my problem required knowledge and experience, ability to think critically, and the skills necessary to accomplish the repair. I was present for the entire repair, and Rod demonstrated all of these. I had many questions for him, and he answered them patiently and with factual information; when he didn't know something, he said so. He was transparent and honest. He was conscious of costs. He removed the many plastic dashboard panels to get to the main SRS module slowly and carefully without breaking a single plastic tab! He was a gentleman and a pleasure to deal with. I just came from Rod's after spending over $1500 at the Mazda dealer attempting to diagnose and repair my air bag light on my 2006 Miata . It seems the dealer attempts to fix the problem by replacing one part at a time then telling you additional parts need to be replaced as they go, Rod originally diagnosed the seat track on my first visit. Ultimateely after spending over $1500 at the dealership. I installed the seat track myself and took it to Rod's for calibration. Within in 30 minutes my error codes were gone. Worst customer service. Had to get my airbag checked he doesn't tell me about the diagnostic fee of $60 then when I ask him how much it will be and what the car needs he avoids the question just keeps saying it needs three parts. Doesn't tell me at all what parts or why or anything. Then tells me I gotta pay him 60 for seeing the car and I tell him why he didn't tell me from the beginning about the fee and he stands up and walks out saying rude remarks. Very horrible service. The estimate given was about 30% of the value of the car, they talked about all of the issues it could be, hard to diagnose, didn't really want to do it. I recently bought a camper built on a 2004 Chevy Express Van chassis. An airbag light was one of the issues I needed to sort out. The issue was fairly sticky, but the guys from Airbag tech stayed at it until the issue was fully resolved. They traced a wiring issue from the front airbag sensor to the computer. They removed the front seat and a lot of carpet and trim to get to the wiring harness. It was all put back very cleanly and the airbag issue was solved. I am very happy with the service and would not hesitate to call them again. read more

Very unhappy with service quality. Not only does the guy have a terrible attitude but his knowledge of airbag systems is very limited. Could not and didn't want to bother explaining what was causing my airbag light to come on. Asked me to get a few replacement SRS parts installed on my car and told me he would come back to program the vehicle. When it was ready he refused to come back to complete programming on vehicle stating it was a waste of his time. Leaving me out cold after spending $300 on parts that were not even needed! Was forced to drive unsafe vehicle for a couple of days with my family until Galpin repaired the issue for $80. Please do yourself a favor and spend your hard earned money elsewhere. read more

These guys are the best. Got me in the morning after I called, drove over - they took a look and told me I had the wrong parts... Rod gave me a couple suggestions of where to find the parts I needed. Not only did I find them, but it was much easier than when I was looking on my own! I really was doing things the hard way going to salvage yards... I had no idea there was a gigantic online inventory available across the US & Canada. I called again- again he told me to come in the next morning. Super quick and easy install. Auto places are not the go-to for airbag install... They'll keep your car all day and charge you a kidney for it!! In fact, I found that most don't even really deal with airbags.
