I recently had work done on my truck. The work performed was good. As an ex mechanic myself is hard to trust others working on your vehicle. My problem was the quality of work based on being careless. Had my wheels balanced and all my wheels were scratched. I have a truck so I won't bitch to much but I wish techs were more careful and own up to when they mess things up instead of just hoping the owner won't find out. Had excellent looking wheels and now I got eye sore looking at them. Makes it hard to build trust with a possible good shop. I may or may not go back again now. read more

I've been going to this store for years for tires and alignments and they were great. Recently I got e-mailed an ad from them and I saw the Jaguar logo. I assumed they could fix Jags, I was wrong. I had an engine light problem and they said they could take care of it. They charged me $200 for "diagnostics" and another $400+ to fix some unrelated issues. I get in my car and immediately the engine light comes on. Now they want $100 for additional diagnostics. Obviously these guys do not know the car and are charging me to figure out what's wrong. A real car mechanic doesn't charge you to find out what is wrong, they charge you to fix it. I'll never go back here again. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. We went in for a toe in/alignment like many places told us that we could do to help a sway on the van. We already had the suspension and shocks and everything checked more than once and they had nothing wrong with the. This shop charged me for an alignment but didn't do what I asked so not sure why I was even charged. Said discount tire had the tires out of spec and they could not toe it in because it wouldn't help. Sent a video of the underside moving around saying all components were bad. Well we couldn't recreate it at any other shop or alone. They said the shocks needed to be replaced but they don't. Don't go to this shop. Put new brakes and tires on wife's truck. She took it in for alignment and somehow got suckered into spending i think extra 150 to swap the front rotors as the directions of the slots were wrong. Like a 2min job. I work on all my own cars. Hell I install my own tires even usually. But I do not have a 10k alignment machine so am at the mercy of shops to align. Will never go back. This place has taken an unfortunate turn from when Rick owned it. Scenario - 3year old Toyota 47K miles Toyota stated new front brakes ( at 3) and brake fluid change. Called RG was quoted expected costs but would need a brake inspection which is $50 but waived if do the repairs. They proceed to call stating $3400 and we needed new brakes front and back (per Toyota they were at 6). Stated need new rotors unable to resurface (Toyota states they can). RG wanted to replace Calipers, i never have had to replace on a car. RG stated an oil change, Rick never touched an engine (Toyota just did the oil change last week). RG suggested transmission fluid change which Toyota doesn't recommend, especially this soon. They thought they would show me some brake pad and rotors like i know what they look like. Who said they actually came off his car. Really??? My mechanical brother laughed at all they wanted to do. It is unfortunate as the whole family used to go there. read more

Just had my vehicle lowered at RG. Fantastic job and I can highly recommend them. Vehicle is a 2019 Dodge Challenger, and from the factory, they look like they could go four-wheeling, sitting really high on their suspension. I got a set of Eibach lowering springs, and started calling around for installation quotes. Sam at RG had done a car for me a few years ago, and I was totally satisfied. He quoted me over the phone, and was right in line with the other shops, but I know he's got all of the high tech equpiment. I made an appointment for installation. When I showed up 8am Sat morning, they were just opening, but took me in right away. They took down the normal vehicle and personal info and I was out of the shop 15 min later. I went about my daily business until they called about four hours later, and I had the wife drive me back down to their shop. First of all, the car looked much better lowered a couple of inches. The vehicle was spotless inside and out, and had none of the "just worked on" indicators that are sometimes found after a shop does their thing. They produced a complete alignment report showing the before, recommended and after specs. My old springs were put back in the Eibach box and left in the trunk of the car. "Maggie", who helped me when taking the car in and when I picked it up, and "Sam" were friendly, knowledgable and professional. If you need brakes or alignment, I would highly recommend this well equipped and professional shop. read more

I had taken my previous cars here to have wheels and lowering spring installed and had a good experience so I thought I would take my son's first car, a 1978 BMW 733i to have lowering springs installed. He was so excited as he saved up money for the car which he purchased for $5K. This is normally a two hour job at most as I waited for the install a couple times before, but this time the shop quoted a shop rate of $175 per hour and said to pick it up next day which I thought odd, since they started to work on it right away and would have completed the job by end of day. So I expected it to cost in the neighborhood of $350 or so, $100 more than I paid 5 years ago which is fair given inflation. I was shocked when I saw the bill was $1100. There is no way the install took 6 hours. The shop even purposely delayed my pickup until the next day so at least 6 hours would have elapsed knowing full well it would not take that long. Very disappointed in the deceptive practice and will not be going back. The car looks awesome lowered so nothing against the mechanics who did a great job, but the people behind the desk are dishonest and unscrupulous. read more

Came in to have a steering wheel correction, unfortunately after service was done steering wheel was still not centered. I called a few weeks after work was done and mentioned I needed the steering wheel corrected again. Today I went in 3 days after the 30 day mark and I was told there would be another fee. Not sure who runs a shop like this but their Customer Service is unsatisfactory and it seems like they want to continue to charge for a service that was already paid for. Funny thing is, when I initially went in to have this done they tried charging me for an alignment which was actually done by this shop recently after I had a 6"lift kit installed. The shop that installed the lift kit had to call them and tell them the alignment wasn't necessary and to just do the steering wheel correction. I will be taking my business to Big John's for now. Spent around 4k to fix many things on my jeep wrangler and they returned my car back with the loudest noise. I couldn't believe it. They claimed the rust and nails caused this problem and that it was going to happen regardless. I fought as hard as I could and they still wanted me to pay to fix the new noise on my car that THEY caused. So now I'm stuck with a noisy 2016 jeep that sounds like 97 hoopty. read more

I've been coming to RG for years for alignment work and tire balancing. Almost 25 years. I haven't needed to use them until recently. July 2020 to be exact. Last time I used them was over a year and half ago. When RG was owned and operated by its founding owner Rick and his family. And not the new people Magic Auto Co. aka MAC. I didn't realize it was under new ownership until after I had dropped off my custom wheels to have new tires I provided mounted. Turns out they made matter worse. The chipped and dinged not one but all 5 wheels I had brought to them. One obviously being a spare. As you can see from the photos they F'd each wheel. I get that these wheels with the tires weigh about 100lbs a piece. But when I called I asked if they handle custom wheels of this nature and weight , Maggie said they did. Turns out they don't. The new owner Moe did a shitty job of handling the situation. He had me bring back the wheels for his wheel repair guy to look at when he said they were mobile and could come to me. Lugging around 500lbs of wheels isn't fun. He assured it would be repaired "as good as new" . The repair they did was a joke. Their company tried to touch the custom powder coating with paint instead of dismounting the wheels/tires and having them completely recoated. They even tried to buff out the gouges made by their techs not being careful when mounting the wheels on their balancer. Needless to say I took the wheels and wanted to get them the fuck out their possession before they screwed it up even worse. Moe, Maggie and their techs screwed up my wheels and did even a more crappy job trying to fix it. I hate posting negative reviews but this is what yelp is for. To let potential people know to avoid places like this. If you value your property i.e. your wheels or car don't take them here. You run the risk of them being damaged and the staff trying to half ass the fix. Such a disappointment with this place. I will be passing this review along as well spreading the word to as many people as I can about this incident. TO THE NEW MANAGEMENT/ OWNERS OF RG ... you wanna make it right. Loyal Past, present & future Customers- Beware of RG Brake. They're conartists!! They have NO INTEGRITY! We were Duped!! We are in disbelief that RG Brake & alignment let our son drive a car they repaired for $2600+, yet they deemed too dangerous later to test drive, just a few months and a few hundred miles later, due to Covid inactivity. What does that say about OUR SON'S SAFETY since we had all that they recommended fixed on his car for over $2600 months earlier ? Totally Unacceptable! We brought our high school son's car in for a simple belt squeak & oil leak. It ran great! Even though we were Astonished by the exorbitant repair cost, we paid for the services they recommended. The repair job amounted to over $2600!! Yet, the car still leaks- all over our drive way! And now they tell us it's too dangerous for them to test drive?! Seriously?! Unbelievable. Only a few months later, when it was only driven once or twice a week, just a few hundred miles since it was 'repaired', they claim 2 axles are in such bad condition that they can't test drive it before replacing them at a cost of $500. It's that dangerous!! Really??! We paid over $2600 to fix a squeak and a leak & IT STILL Leaks!! Unconscionably, The very dangerous condition the axles are in, as told to us by RG Brake & any urgency to replace them- was not relayed to us just months earlier. Bottomline- Victims of Fraud- We relied upon their expert opinion to fix it to our $detriment. Our high school son's car still has yet to be properly repaired. RG Brake tell us now that his car 'desperately' needs new axles, but didn't just a few months & miles ago when they repaired it last??! Summary- Our son's car Always ran great, but it still leaks. We brought it in this 2nd time to get the leak fixed, hoping there would be no charge as we have already paid them to fix the leak & maintain car. I got quoted a ballpark price to bring my car in and the actual job was several hundred dollars more than what they quoted me to get me in the door. I even asked them to quote me a price with rotors.. The only time I would suggest you bring business here is if you want to get ripped off. If you have money to throw around and waste, then this is your place. I know that it is hard to get service on cars in this area, but honesty goes a long way and this place has none. And they don't tell you upfront, but they charge you $45 just to give you a price. Just another little surprise to really piss you off. Stay as far away from this place as you can, I cannot emphasize that enough. ***update*** as expected, I took my car to a reputable repair shop. I didn't need rotors, My reply to the owners reply- People please be aware that I didn't deal with Travis nor did I talk or see him on premises. His reply was further affirmation of my original review. Yes I absolutely signed for the brake check fee, however I was told it was to give them permission to drive my car. Never once was a charge mentioned. Pretty unprofessional to put down another shop that you don't know, and didn't see their work. To me that says all I need to know. A simple apology for not letting me know about the change would had gone a long way. Maybe you should put up a large banner that says we charge you $45 to give you a price for your job! The old saying stuff happens would had applied here. I even mentioned that I would be leaving a negative yelp review and was told by the lady "we don't care" so I was expecting this reply. Bottom line people, I'd understand if the price was $100 more, but $400 more isn't a mistake, it's bait and switch. When I called and told you I needed a price for a specific car, and asked for a quote including rotors, I'd expect the price to be pretty close. How many customers need new brake fluid? How many customers need rotors? They want to install a new brake system on every car that rolls in. Of course they want to because they make more profit and the chance of someone coming back is low. I was having some real problems with my brakes, on my rebuilt 1989 Ford Bronco 4X4 full size. I had taken it to several shop's but the problems still persist? I notified RG Brake and they took care of my brakes and let me know what the problem was and why it was not corrected! Being that the truck is 32 years old, I needed to find an old school mechanic who could find the problem then correctly fix it without the use of new computer technology. Prices are good. Nice people to work with. Got what I needed handled same day. Marked down a star because they forgot to put TWO screws back before putting tires back on. Screws that were VERY important and kept some cables from rubbing on the tires as they turn. I noticed after it got thru the wire's rubber casing and really starting to make a scraping noise. Luckily I was able to locate the issue, take tire off and had a couple machine screws that fit perfect, before more damage was done. I wonder how they missed a couple screws lying around after the work was done. Or if they noticed and didn't care enough to figure out where they came from after car put back together. read more

Too much condensation and thought there must be a leak somewhere and a much needed alignment. Got a call back within a reasonable time and a clear explanation on the work needed to get the car fixed. R.G.Brakes is not the same business as when the former owner Rick green owned it. They over charged and they try to sell you things that you do not need. When I called them about it the office manager flat out lied about it. They tried to get me to change my transmission fluid by showing me dirty fluid from elsewhere and not from my car. My transmission fluid was done 3 months prior and did not need to be changed. They flat out lied to me to try and rip me off. When I told the office about it they offered me a free oil change. I said ok and maybe it was a valid mistake. 15 minutes later I was called and lied to by the so called office manager who said that it never happens as it's not on the paperwork. I told him that he is the one who showed me the dirty trans fluid on his little plastic tray. I told him that he is a liar and he tried to rip me off. Not to mention they charged me 150.00 over what my brake job should have been. I will never ever go back to them and I do not recommend them at all. Had to get wife's jeep alignment done after installing leveling kit. Setting up an appointment was easy and they got to work on the vehicle within minutes of arriving...they were on time as far as I was concerned! The service was very good and since I hadn't eaten bfast yet, their guy who was running out to pick up bfast burritos for the guys working there even picked me one up (I paid for mine of course). Great shop and I'll be using them for my alignment issues in the future. Sorry, I do my own brakes and other wrenching but will definitely use them when I need their services. read more

These guys really helped us out in a pinch. We had a horrific experience driving on the 5 and the grapevine, and our tire getting totally damaged. After hours waiting on the side of the road with semis roaring by, and calling tire shops while waiting for the tow truck, we found these guys. They had a replacement tire in stock and graciously stayed open so we could get there, get our tire fixed, and get back on the road for our vacation! They were super friendly and cool.
