If you read no further than this line, this salon provides exceptional service and I would recommend it to anyone, especially someone who needs a beauty team for her wedding. The week of my wedding, I realized i couldn't use the 3 make up artists i booked with another company bc they refused to show proof of vaccination or a negative covid test. Panicked, my mom and I called all the local salons in great neck. When i tried Airbar Blow Dry Bar, I was lucky enough to get the owner Jessica, who immediately put me at ease. She could tell i was in a super stressful situation and told me that by the end of the day, she'd sort out my need for make up artists for my wedding. That very same evening Jessica got back to me with 2 incredible make up artists, Stephanie and Breiana, both of whom were willing to comply with the covid restrictions imposed by my wedding venue. The paperwork to reserve the artists was extremely reasonable and easy to follow. I was able to fill it out and pay my deposit the next day. In addition, Jessica reserved these artists for the entire morning so they were able to travel to the venue where i was getting ready. I can't say enough about the actual work these artists did. I have never felt more beautiful. I showed Stephanie and inspiration photo which she followed to a T. Stephanie and Breiana both did my bridesmaids as well who looked flawless. My make up lasted all day. I will absolutely be back in the salon to have either of these artists do my make up. If you are planning a wedding, I'd definitely book these women ASAP. read more

The owner, Jessica is also extremely sweet and kind. They also use high quality tools and products such as Olaplex and IGK! The salon itself is also beautiful and has a very high end luxe feel to it! Airbar has been my go-to place since their opening. I've had my thick, curly hair blown out by several stylists and have never been disappointed! Although I've moved to Queens, I am always sure to make the trip for all my hair needs. They're the only place I trust for blowouts. I have thick hair and have had the usual heavy sighs from other places but at Airbar, I've always felt welcomed and part of the family! Actually worst hair cut I've ever gotten - blocky short layers in the front half of my head and long in the back. Looks like two haircuts in one. I didn't say anything because I honestly need to grow it out and get it shaped somewhere else. I used to go to this salon and actually really liked it but unfortunately will NEVER be going back again. After tipping 20% on a service I was told that tips are usually $10 (coming out to 33% of my service in this case). I followed up with an email explaining how that is a very high tip to ask for and was bombarded by calls and a voice message in a rude tone of voice. Rather than simply taking my feedback I was then sent an essay arguing with me claiming their tipping policy was a suggestion as people often ask (I did not ask, nor was it suggested). By the way they record your voice without consent - would advise going elsewhere! I'm regards to the below: I did not delete my Google review nor will I remove this one - how dare you ask me to censor myself because I had a poor experience with you? This is my review and my opinion and it just highlights your poor customer service. YOU disappointed me over $4 - a 20% tip is standard and why would your stylist give me a tipping "suggestion" after already tipping her if I did not ask for it! YOU are the one that shared incorrect info on Google review saying that I asked for a refund on my tip which I never did - YOU offered me a refund on my 2nd blowout, I did not ask for it and was going to come back to redeem it (and then never come back). This place is awesome! I had my hair and makeup done by Stephanie for my wedding day and it turned out perfect. I gave her an idea of what I wanted and she made it happen (and made it look 10x better than I imagined). I got my hair and makeup done with Stephanie this past weekend and she did an amazing job. I got so many compliments on my blowout and my makeup. I recently moved to the area and with the pandemic, I hadn't needed to get my hair/makeup done since. I made an appointment online, which was super easy and everything was all set when I arrived. Went back as a walk in for my second visit for a blow out and it went well. However, I went back for a third visit WITH an appointment. I had an event to go to so booked hair first and then mani pedi after (right next door). I was acknowledged 10 mins after sitting there and the woman said she'd be with me shortly. I was completely ok with that. But 15 mins later I was still waiting and when I asked how much longer it will be, I was told as soon as soon as someone is available to help me. Apparently, someone called out and they were short staffed. We're human. Things happen. I would have appreciated a phone call in advance to let me know that so I could at least make other arrangements. I decided I to walk out because no one offered me any other solution and I had to get to my next appointment. Needless to say, I received a call from the salon shortly after telling me that they have to charge me for half the fee of the service because I didn't tell them I was leaving or wanted to "cancel", when the 2 stylists there watched me leave. Instead of calling me to apologize, they called to threaten me saying they will put a note in my file noting " what I just did" because I refused to pay for them making me miss my appointment. What a damn shame because I thought I found a new salon especially since I am new to the area. I'm not looking for perfect customer service but I am looking for common courtesy.
