Expensive Salon. I needed my roots done for the grays and also half head of highlights. I was talked into getting full head of highlights because they said it will blend better. I asked for honey color highlights and i said that because my hair is damaged the color (foils) takes very fast. The foils were left for close to 40 minutes. She then had to use a toner because my highlight were too light. Now with the toner you can hardly even notice i have highlights. The color for my gray roots was left on for only 10 min. When i questioned why its ont on longer she said they are European colors and only need 10 min to cover the gray roots. She said she also added a treatment for the color to last longer. Now one week later I see gray all over my head. The cost was $350 and with tip over $400. That is a lot of $ to not be happy read more

They ruined my hair! I came in with natural hair and showed pictures of very subtle balayage, seeking just a small change to add dimension. Unfortunately, what I received was completely different from what I requested. The stylist didn't take time to properly review my inspiration photos and instead proceeded with a full head of highlights. After 7 hours and over $500, I left with bright orange highlights throughout my hair - nothing like the subtle look I had requested. The result was so upsetting that I couldn't even look in the mirror for days. When I called to have the mistake corrected, they scheduled me for an appointment at 3:30 PM. Upon arrival, I waited for 20 minutes without a single acknowledgment from any staff member - not even eye contact. This was particularly frustrating as the stylist knew I had a baby at home and limited time. I ultimately left to seek help at another salon. Most bewildering was receiving a call from the stylist 20 minutes after I left (40 minutes after my scheduled appointment time) informing me she was finally ready and asking if I was coming. While the staff has always been personally pleasant in our interactions, the service quality and customer care fell far below professional standards, especially considering the premium price point. read more

There was no apology, I tried to explain how I wanted my hair cut but only received a quick trim With no style. She spent more time on the boys haircut. Being a mom of twins with a full time job, and having no childcare on account of the pandemic, my time is, needless to say, VERY VERY limited. Sometimes it feels as if just taking a shower is a luxury. So going to the hair salon for highlights and a haircut is a pretty big deal to me. On the fateful day I went to Adelina to get my hair highlighted and cut by Faith, I (1) woke up at 4 am to finish my work and (2) arranged for an Uber (total roundtrip cost was $80) to bring my mom to my house to watch my kids Faith highlighted my hair which appeared ok (at first) and then asked how I'd like to cut my hair. I said to trim the "bare minimum" she responded by saying "just a cleanup?" to which I gave an emphatic yes. Faith proceeded to chop off about 4 - 5 inches of hair all around my head and gave me super short layers. That wasn't the worst part, though; had she cut my hair in a way that made sense I would have been ok with it, but the cut was just so haphazard. I was dismayed. My hair looks so bad now the only thing I can do is put it up in a ponytail. Another hairstylist to whom I requested a cut correction said there is nothing she can do as my haircut is the "worst botched haircut" she has ever seen. I called the front desk of the salon and asked for a refund for both services which I thought would be a no brainer but I just got the run around from Adelina. She made me go to the salon to show her the haircut which she indirectly admitted was bad because she said she could "fix it." Although she gave me a refund for the cut, she refused to give me a refund for the $200 highlights which I now see are very uneven. I didn't originally complain about the highlights but given that I can do nothing with my hair other than put it up, the highlights are basically useless. I feel extremely taken advantage of by this salon, it is an absolute travesty how I was treated. I was reluctant to have any services performed by Faith given that there is basically no demand for her services based on the booking link on the salon's website (see attached image), but I proceeded any. Next time I will trust my gut!! Since Adelina employs this person she should have taken responsibility for her employee's work but this unfortunately this didn't happen. read more

I am really not happy with my haircut at Adelina Salon. The hairstylist started 20 minutes late, the hairstylist I was supposed to have somehow wasn't available, it was never explained why, so I was given a stylist that was more expensive. Forgetting all that, the haircut I got was ugly. The hairstylist cut off at least double the inches I asked for, did exactly what I told her I did NOT want, and the haircut looks ugly and uneven and weird. My previous haircut was better and $30 cheaper. I will not be going back. read more

Then she cut it and blowed it out. I'm really happy with the result. Everything was done in a little under an hour. Dina is great and definitely knows what she is doing. My hair colorist, Samantha Diana, works at this salon!!! She is absolutely amazing at what she does and is so knowledgeable about all different hair types and coloring. She has so much experience and a huge following behind her. She is definitely one of the top colorist on the island. I live on the south shore and still travel to come to Adelina Salon for her.
