This has been my hair salon for years! Leslie colors my hair and Olivia cuts it! I've had others blow dry/style it whenever I've needed but those 2 women are the best ! I'm not the happiest with my hair because for 2 years I let it grow after I got it chopped off. I got my hair colored by Adriana who was professional about the whole incident but none the less I did not get what I asked for. My hair was virgin hair that's the best hair to work on !!!! I told her I specifically do not want brassy tones & showed her the picture numerous times. When I had to dry my own hair & saw what the result was my heart dropped. Have been going here for several years now. Frank for cuts and Leslie for color. Both are superb professionals and I highly recommend both. (My husband also uses Frank for cuts & has been more than satisfied with his hair.) The assistants at the sinks, with special mention going out to Marcela & Isabela, are all terrific too. The salon itself is clean, attractive & comfortable but the lighting is poor, which takes away from immediately enjoying the finished work of these professionals. The front desk is usually manned by Julie, who's accommodating, professional, and really nice. The major negative is parking. There's no salon valet or private spaces. Given the very high prices, I'd expect this. Instead, clients are stuck with metered parking, usually in the lot behind the building. Receptionist (Julie) and support staff (Isabel in particular who is an angel) are wonderful. Sadly can't say the same of the hair people and the owner. I have detected a real fall off in how many customers are in the salon over the last year or so, I think many are sharing my dissatisfaction. Parking is convenient and they are right in town so I've stuck it out although I never leave feeling that they really care if I look my best, I certainly never feel like they are glad to see me (again, not Julie or Isabel). I've been a regular for years and a BIG tipper. I made the decision today to try and find another crew for my color and cuts. I typically don't write reviews because I'm generally in agreement with the majority. I've been to De-Al a number of times of the last year or two for both cut and color as well as my daughter's hair. I got my last cut in late December and noticed a few days later it was uneven. However, being a work from home mother, my hair is almost always up and my schedule has been insanely busy with extremely long work days. I tried calling a few times to rectify the situation, but it was on a Sunday and Monday when the salon was closed. This was definitely my own fault to have waited this long. However, I finally was able to call today and was told I'd have to pay for a new haircut to fix the issue. Before I wrote a review, I tried to ask to make sure they wouldn't help resolve it. Their explanation was that it's been 8 weeks and my hair my just grow back uneven, even though I explained I noticed it was uneven from early on and was just too busy to do anything about it. I won't names because I think everyone is human and can make mistakes. I'm mostly discouraged by how the situation was managed and the lack of customer service. I was happy to have gone here out of convenience and have been for almost two years to the same cut and colorist, but I will definitely be looking to go somewhere else in the future. read more

I have been going to this salon for almost 10 years now and I'm ALWAYS happy with end result. I have also referred a lot of friends ( who ask me where I get my hair done) and they are also. Frank is an awesome hair stylist. I have long hair with layers and he always gives me a current and beautiful cut. ALL of the colorists are awesome too. I have also done keratin treatments and Brazilian blow outs and I always love the end result. One of the best things about this beautiful brand new salon aside from the great products (Oribe) they use is the people who work there. No negative, pretentious attitudes here, just very kind, professional, and down to earth. I have ALWAYS felt pampered and cared for there. My color has never looked better and I've went to several top places in the city which the only reason I left is because my colorist was leaving to LA. I asked around and found De al. I've been a client here for over three years now and have never looked back. They always make me feel like I'm the one and only even when the salon is packed. My color is AMAZING. Moving on to my haircut, Olivia never disappoints. She's professional and artistic. She takes her time and goes over everything with you on what she thinks best suits your face. On to the shampoo ladies, before you sit down you are offered a cappuccino, coffee, water etc. not to mention the shampoos and massage are A+.
