I have had an absolutely awful experience with Airco, and I feel compelled to warn others about their poor workmanship, lack of accountability, and rude customer service. First, the installation they did in August was completely botched. They had to come back shortly after to "fix" their mistakes, but it seems their fixes were only temporary. Fast forward to January, and my system started failing again. A fuse at the service disconnect blew, which left me with no choice but to contact them again. When the technician came out to address the issue, instead of thoroughly inspecting the wiring or taking responsibility, he tried to pass it off as a power surge. This excuse was nothing more than an attempt to dodge accountability, especially since there were no signs of a surge elsewhere in my home. He didn't even bother to properly check the wiring, which I later discovered was likely the root cause of the problem. To make matters worse, the air handler (which requires a 60-amp breaker) was installed on a 50-amp breaker--something that is not only unsafe but also a clear violation of electrical codes. When I brought this up, the technician rudely and combatively insisted it was fine, even though it obviously isn't. This is basic electrical knowledge, and their willingness to cut corners at the expense of safety is shocking. Their customer service has also been appalling throughout this process. When I reached out to schedule service, I received a dismissive and defensive text message instead of the clear communication I expected: "This is Airco, I talked to you around 3:45 and told you we would be out today after 4 or 5. I did not tell you it would be before then. You are next on the schedule." This kind of tone is unprofessional and only added to my frustration. Overall, Airco has failed me on every level--botched installation, dismissive customer service, and rude, combative technicians who are more interested in deflecting blame than solving problems. I wouldn't recommend Airco to anyone. Save yourself the headache and hire a company that will prioritize safety, professionalism, and customer satisfaction. To top it all, I called the city, in September, and they did not pull a permit. The city fined AirCo and contacted them to tell them to file a permit. read more

I totally LOVE my experience with Airco so far. Jon was my technician today and he was INCREDIBLE. Our A/C stopped blowing cool and Jon arrived the same day I called. He was prompt, on time, called 30 minutes before arrival, and was very professional. After performing several different tests, Jon was able to find the issue related to a burnt-out piece connecting to the circuit board. Jon even noticed my thermostat control unit in my house had been wired incorrectly for 2 years (which is what caused the part on the circuit board to melt and burn out - because both heating and A/C were running at the same). Jon explained things to me in an easy-to-understand way and was very honest with me on what needed to be fixed. Honesty is something that I look for most in an A/C repair company. Jon was able to bypass the heater until the parts could be ordered (which allowed our house to stay cool in the meantime.) Jon also stayed with me for an extra 20 minutes after the diagnosis to help me configure my Alexa smart thermostat properly. The inspection service charge was also very reasonable at $65.00. Airco is great so far and I hope Jon is the technician who is dispatched to my house once the new part arrives. I highly recommend Airco. read more

Our 19 year old unit was dying fast and we knew we needed it replaced. Because of my work schedule my wife was the one who had to handle everything. She got bids from 4 major companies and one mom and pop. Airco was only a few hundred dollars more then the cheapest bid. Stuart the salesman was very professional in telling my wife what we needed, didn't try to sell us stuff we didn't, showed her the companies insurance and bonding. He left us with info on 3 different units and let us determine what we could afford. Out of the 5 bids we received, Airco and Stuart were the most knowledgeable about the products they sell, the presentation of why we should chose them and the warranty information. When they came to install the new unit the installers were very polite and professional, even asking permission to use the restroom every time they needed to use it. They protected my floors and cleaned up everything when they were done. They asked if my wife wanted to go into the attic and look at the new unit and explain everything. I would highly recommend Airco to anyone who needs a new AC. read more

Updated info: Wes at Airco got in touch re the receipt and sent me what I needed. Orig review: I had Airco come out to deal with my non-running A/C. Day one they sent out an A/C guy who checked a few things and said we needed to call in an electrician. The electrician came out the next day and got things running again. Both guys seemed to know what they were doing and fixed the problem. No complaints there. I paid in full immediately. Now you'd think receipts for the payments would show up in my email pretty soon, right? That's pretty much how the world works these days. A receipt for the A/C guy's work DID soon show up in my email. But a receipt for the electrician's work did not. I called Airco a number of times asking for one. Finally they sent an invoice, not a receipt. Then they sent me a 'New Customer Order', whatever that is. It's still not a receipt. So at this point, I give up. I just hope my insurance company will accept my claim based on the non-receipt I'm going to send them! read more

I'm always pleased with Airco Residential Tech Robert who comes to our home for service checks once a year. Airco has sent the same Sr. Tech which causes you to build a repore with your service tech. Immediately Robert ask did I have any concerns and begin to follow-up for each area. He exceeded expectation and gave me additional information which will help our goal and keep our units excellent. What impressed me about Robert is his concern for your well being even sharing his own personal care taking of his parents/family and why he believes in the company he works for. He has to come back tomorrow and I appreciated Robert focusing on keeping our systems excellent and our money in our pocket. I have seen other companies take advantage of your lack of knowledge. I truly appreciate Robert's professionalism. I appreciate Airco. They are the best way to go. They know how to treat their people. This will be a long term partnership. Thank you Airco. read more

This is my 3 time using AirCo and I could not be more pleased. I had some issues with one of my AC units in my house, very easy to schedule, Martin reached out with his scheduled time, arrived when he said, quickly figured out what was wrong, explained it all, got him some parts and went to work on fixing it straight away... always keeping me in the loop as the afternoon went on. I have to say, in the 30 years living in Austin, AirCo is hands down better than any of the other 8-10 HVAC companies I've dealt with across the 12 HVAC systems between my home and work locations. These guys are a breath of fresh "Air" in a world of companies that have been a bit of a disappointment ether with lack of responsiveness, honestly, or skill level. I returned home from vacation, opened my front door, and was hit with Extreme Heat. I could hear the AC running, but it was not putting out cold air my AC was not working. I called Airco, and they sent out their specialists Rudy Flores. Rudy was very professional ,and knowledgeable about his job, and products. Once Rudy found out my unit was not repairable, he offered a portable unit to keep my master bedroom cool, until the new unit could be installed. Rudy went over all my options, and made sure that I was in agreement. The install team arrived on time Saturday as promised, and they did a Great job, and made sure that everything was clean before leaving, and that I understood how to operate the unit. If I ever need in AC service in the future, or someone that I know needs a good AC company, I will for sure recommend Airco. read more

I just want to take a moment to give the highest praise possible to Dean, the AC guy, who is now basically a folk hero in our hearts. During Kill Tony episode #731 at the Comedy Mothership, the main room AC went out, and in a moment that will surely be studied in HVAC textbooks for decades, Dean emerged from the shadows like a climate-control cowboy. Within minutes, he wrangled that rogue AC unit back into submission, saving the audience from becoming a sweaty, sad open mic at a sauna. When Tony brought him on stage after the fix, the place erupted. I wasn't there in person... but I felt the cold air spiritually. You know a man is good at his job when his work gives you goosebumps through a podcast. Dean didn't just fix the AC--he fixed the vibe. Solid service. Always prompt and efficient. Good at following up. Only concern I have is that each time they come for a maintenance check up on our units they leave a repair estimate for totally different things (i never have them do any of the work, so in theory all of the problems they find should exist the next time a guy comes to do a check). I decided a while back that I would only consider doing the recommended repairs if 2 service guys in a row leave me with estimates for the same issues - so far that has not happened. After the last appointment I was told that there were no issues that needed to be fixed and that aside from being old the units are in ok condition. They never push me to pay for any of the repairs they suggest so overall I am pleased with the service they give. read more

Cannot say enough good things about this company and their staff. I was getting estimates for the replacement of my old HVAC unit, which was still working but was worn out. Stuart was sent to my home to assess the situation, and gave me 4 good options with no pressure to purchase one or the other, he was there to simply educate me so I can make the best choice. Enrique was sent to install my system yesterday, and did a fantastic job start to finish. And yes the people they send are employees, not subcontractors. I would never hesitate to use AirCo for your HVAC needs. They're local folks and much more reasonably priced than their competitors and don't try to sucker you in to something that you don't need/want/cannot afford. As you may know, any type of home repair can be stressful and exhausting especially the major ones like our broken ac unit. My Wife and I called Airco and spoke with Wes (An Owner). Wes treated us with understanding and compassion through clear and sound advice when purchasing a new a/c unit. He went above and beyond to treat us like family and cared for our home like his own. My A/C just broke down I called Airco to have it checked. Unfortunately my air conditioning is no way to be repaired. Prior to Airco I called other company to have my air conditioning repaired however after few days it won't cool then yesterday it just don't work anymore. And it was nightmare! I decided not to call them again and rather called Airco as recommended by my colleague. They were very honest as they say my aircon retired and the cost of the repair would be very expensive way more expensive than buying a new one. So they recommend me buying a new one. Oh well I didn't argue with it since my A/C served me for almost 5 years maybe really it should need to be replaced. They are honest people I highly recommend them. read more

He replaced the circuit board on my furnace to restore the fan blower, and he did it with remarkable efficiency and professionalism. Beyond the repair, John Paul conducted a comprehensive diagnostic of my entire HVAC system and clearly explained a few important issues with my condenser that need to be addressed to ensure peak performance. We used Airco after an experience with another company left us with a broken a/c unit several times in one week. I had heard Airco's service was top notch - and they certainly delivered! We were able to get someone out that day - and the representative that came out (Todd) was wonderful. He went through a few tests, many of which the other company hadn't done or hadn't done correctly, and he was able to locate the problem and fix our unit within hours and for much less than we expected. Having two small children in the house, knowing that we will have reliable a/c this weekend and going into the hot summer season is so crucial! Just wanted to give another shout-out to Rudy for going out of his way to help us get an appointment, despite having a booked schedule. We originally booked an appointment to take place the next week, but when he finished a job that was nearby he called to say he could squeeze us in (even though it was a Saturday afternoon) so we wouldn't have to wait through the weekend with our AC issue. He spent over an hour checking things out to diagnose the issue and when it turned out to be more of an issue with plumbing, rather than AC, he still took the time to describe the problem to us in detail so we knew how to seek assistance--and he didn't charge us for the time. Airco replaced our HVAC system about five years ago and we've kept a maintenance contract with them ever since. Last summer Robert came out on one of the hottest days of the year to replace a bad capacitor, and said it sounded like our fan motor was dragging, but he didn't have a replacement on hand. Well, the system ran okay through the heating system but with hot weather approaching again I thought I'd better get that motor seen to. So Robert returned, replaced the motor, flushed the drain pipes and did all he could on a cool day to make sure we're ready for hot days ahead. He is professional, thorough, personable, and kind. This company is amazing! And Rudy Flores is the best ever! Sure, there were things that went wrong... and I was scared and frustrated. But Rudy took such good care of me and the company backed him up every time. Things go wrong y'all, your house might be old... You may have to deal with a little bit more than you would like. The gas heat on my AC / heating unit quit working. I phoned AIRCO and got an appointment the next afternoon. My technician, Martin showed up at the beginning of the time window. He checked out the problem, which was a new board, still under warranty. He was able to get the part the same day, and got another part just in case it was damaged by the failure of the first one. He got the heater going, checked it out carefully, and will return the second part. The unit was installed by AIRCO and has been maintained by AIRCO, same for our rental properties. I have been very satisfied with their service, efficiency, and willingness to explain problems and issues. read more
