Joe is amazing to work with. He repaired one of my windows and just reinstalled and installed new windows in our daughter's home. He took his time explaining everything. His team comes in with shoe covering, tapes down paper everywhere. Vacuums, cleans and removes any debirs. We needed new carpentry around the interior windows and their carpentry was superb. They washed all the windows, installed screens, new casements, matched what was already there. The manufacturing process may take a little longer than the large companies, but that is because they make the windows themselves in their shop. This has the added benefit of making them experts at window construction, so they can walk you through and recommend options. They also don't upsell - for example, they recommended thicker glass on the bedroom windows, but thinner glass on the larger living room windows to save. From my first telephone call to Airflo through the window installation, the scheduling, the service, attention to detail and professionalism of all involved was top notch. We purchased a landmarked limestone last year, and during the process of remodeling we decided we needed to upgrade the windows as the home had poor quality vinyl windows. We researched many brands from cheap to high end hoping to get a good deal and in the process we learned that you get what you pay for in windows. Cutting costs on the windows is NOT where one should do it. That being said, we found Airflo's prices competitive with the large internet companies but their customer service was outstanding. This is a family business that cares. Gary came out and spent some quality time with us explaining what we needed and what the best approach was. We had 15 windows that needed to be replaced, but have to do it in stages due to budget constraints. There was no "used car salesman" feeling throughout the process. Gary was very knowledgeable and we felt that he had our best interest in mind when proposing options. There were many opportunities for him to "upsell" us, but he actually did the opposite - keeping us from adding unnecessary expense. Our first order consisted of only 3 windows, yet Gary and the team made us feel like our job was just as important as their larger projects. The Airflo team was skilled at handling all of the landmarks permitting and got the approval needed very quickly. When it came time for installation we found the team to be above our expectations in their professionalism, work ethics, timeliness and overall attention to detail. Gary's son Joe managed the install, and it wasn't easy as the team had to deal with a rotted out window casing and transom case. It was an unexpected issue and the team had to completely rebuild it. Airflo could have charged us an arm and a leg as we were really in a bind, but they didn't, they were more than fair. I think customers tend to gravitate towards the monster window companies for their warranty, but I rest easy knowing Airflo would honor their workmanship for any future issues that could possibly arise. Overall, we found working with the team at Airflo to be a great experience and we're already looking forward to the installation of the rest of the windows in the not too far future. This is an actual follow up to a previous review I made. My first review was glowing and well deserved but because of that experience we decided to have our doors redone and subsequent windows when we are ready. We were actually going to have another contractor do the doors but everyone was so pleased with the first job and how well it went that it seemed to make perfect sense to have Air Flo do our doors as well. So, called AirFlo... Gary came out, gave the old rotting doors an inspection gave us a quote and we were off to the races. Needless to say things went pretty swimmingly, the AirFlo team came in, cleaned up and got these beautifully mahogany dressed doors installed. While we were waiting on the locksmith to get it together (which subsequently presented it's own challenges). The doors seemed to shift a bit which made them sticky on close. The locksmith came out and noted that it was likely just a tiny bit swollen from when they were placed but he couldn't put the locks on anyway at that time. Called AirFlo up... In no time the same guys that installed the door were making sure it was realigned and problem solved!. I'm not sure what else to tell you... You want it done right, you want quality, you want custom, you want attention to detail, you want to know that if something goes wrong with your install you aren't left hanging in the wind. Sure, I could BS you and tell you do the due diligence and keep searching around and wasting time but i'm not sure what purpose this review would serve. One of the conundrums of window replacement is choosing a company. One way is the experience of others. In addition, we have limitations place on a landmark building. Lastly, we were in the middle of Covid. I think the company we chose, Airflo, was a perfect fit. We worked through shortage of materials, whether it was wood or glass. It may have been annoying at first that he had incredible follow up, but that is exactly the support I needed. He is on it - it's just that we aren't used to that anymore, are we? As many others have noted this is a custom, service oriented and professional business. They know about how to work with landmarks, and how to solve problems. I once asked him why he didn't do more and he responded those other services isn't his expertise. That's the point. They do windows and doors period. So rare to see this business model these days - they not only did an excellent job (replacing a bent glass historic window) but without exception, everyone in the company was courteous, on time, pleasant and polite, responsive, helpful - you get the idea. These days I find I'm grateful when someone just shows up, so having someone call to tell me when they'd arrive, (on time, wearing masks, protecting my floors and belongings) to do an excellent, professional job knocks me out. I called Air Flo windows on a hunch as I drive by their offices every week. I live in an Landmarked building in Fort Greene, on the top floor, and needed to replace the three front windows of my apartment. We live in one of the most prominent old mansion brownstones on Clinton Avenue, so it was very important that the new windows were a perfect match for this building. Within a week, Gary and come around assessed the situation and given me an incredibly competitive quote, the best I had received. This, coupled with Gary's professional and friendly manner made it a no brainer- I went with Air Flo. From then on every step of the process, the measuring, the Landmark application and, most importantly, the installation went like clockwork.... perfectly. These guys worked with our busy schedule and delivered on time. The guys who installed the windows (on the 4th floor) did it within in a day, took amazing pride in their work, left the rooms spotless of dust as they did a thorough clean up and came back the next day to do an excellent paint touch up job. They even painted my interior window ledges as a free extra without me even asking. Gary and the guys provided an unbelievable product and service. I cannot believe how competitively priced they are in a field where most of the other quotes where way, way too high. I highly recommend them to anyone else out there. Rude and lacks transparency. Firstly, I gave 2 stars to this company because when I called for an immediate quote and visit, I received one for the next day. The appointment was seamless and at the time, in an attempt to get the new business, Gary Nebiol was pleasant to deal with. We were looking to solve a draft problem and I was very hesitant because along with a few good reviews, there were also several bad ones- some which specifically dealt their installs causing drafts. Nonetheless, I decided to give him the chance. Gary was fine and brought his son along whom he seemed to be training on the job with my service appointment. We had seen previous window contractors who had suggested storm windows or brick to brick installs for our big, brownstone windows but Gary immediately discounted this saying he won't do it at all but would recommended simply replacing the current windows which I thought was odd since several others told me that the problem was not the actual windows but the insulation. He also tried to push removing our window bars for additional fees when our toddler was present at the appointment -- Very convenient as he mentioned that his son has a metals business and could remove them for us. It seemed to us that he was nickle and diming us from the beginning and that the proper install would take too much of his time. He kept pushing the same install we already had or the very quick storm window install where he upcharged me for the install and then separately added various other items doubling the price. I then contacted him to try to negotiate the rate as the add ons--which were necessary--caused the price to skyrocket beyond the flat rate that he gave. us. While speaking with him on a call regarding the cost options and what I wanted, only the 3rd time we actually spoke in total, he out of nowhere seemed to have lost control and literally full-on screamed at me while trying to explain away his extra cost add-ons. I was shell-shocked because as a customer and I general, I am definitely not used to this and was in a public space at a professional conference so I could Not defend against his unprofessional screaming rants. He was basically a stranger who was to do a service for me. It seems that he was frustrated and annoyed because I was questioning each one of his add-ones and deciding on the spot whether or not they were necessary for me because they made the job double the price. As a consumer, I should have all of the information before making a decision. I was so disgusted with Gary's attitude, I told him I would call him back in a quiet time and immediately hung up and crossed him off of my list. This man does not know how to deal with customers in a professional manner when they ask for information that he may not be comfortable with. This is the nature of business and questions and concerns should be addressed without any issues. I'm not sure if he is from some old school way of doing business but this behavior will not cut it in the age where there are various competitors who treat their customers like they want their business and with complete transparency. I would skip this business unless you like drama and being disrespected. I do not regret looking at all the reviews and making a decision on my own but I did keep all of the reviews in the back of my mind when I dealt with him. It did not take long to see the red flags. Drafty, problematic windows that fall down at the top, leak constantly, come loose, do not stay up when opened and have major issues all around. I honestly have nightmares about the windows in my apartment even though I call them a few times a year to come out. Billing was a tad shady this last time. Even though I knew up front the cost per hour and the cost of the truck (whatever that means...I assumed "cost of the truck" meant travel costs, but no. I was yelled at and told I was not even being charged for travel.) When I heard my repair guy (who is always nice) tell Gary that he was here for two hours on their 1st visit, and an hour/hour and a half this last time, I interjected because that was wrong. It makes my blood boil that they must think I don't know how to read a clock. The first time they were here for an hour, and the second time was 35 minutes. Then, I was told that they round up, and would call it "one hour" even though it was 35 minutes. Additionally, I was the nice person who said to the repair guys, "let's call the office to see how much I owe so I can send you with a check." They were going to just take off with out a check. So much for being the nice consumer. Other units in the building have similar issues, and constantly complain about how drafty it is. I found the scheduling to be ok. I haven't had too many problems with that. I can understand some maintenance once in a while, but this has been a major problem. It will definitely cause an issue when I go to sell this apartment since you can see major gaps or actually pick the window right up out of the track. We had windows installed by them 5 years ago and they are so drafty, we now need to use plastic over them. I have tried to schedule appointments for Air Flo to come and re-caulk the windows to help ease the drafts, and they never call me back. Replaced the front windows on the top two floors of our brownstone. Took care of all the hoops that needed jumping through with the city and made the whole thing effortless. Arrived on time both days, finished on time both days. For all the work they did, you would never know they had been there based on how clean they left the place. The quality of the windows couldn't be better, and the they saved us a lot of aggravation by noticing that we needed to add a couple of add-ons to the window sills. Not nickel-and-diming us either--the add-ons were so cheap and they made the front of the building look better plus saved us repair problems for the future.
