Just a warning they advertise being 24/7 for emergencies and they are NOT 24/7. On the weekends it's an answering service. My AC broke on a Saturday and I have a newborn at home and it was creeping up into 85 degrees in my house. I called all weekend at least 7 times. The service had no additional information for me just said they'd "pass along the message" and I was a previous customer. I gave up and found ATA heating and air conditioning they were able to come out on a Sunday, confirm I needed a new unit and installed the very next day. 2 weeks later I still haven't gotten a callback from Airflow. I called to cancel our maintenance membership and the woman on the phone couldn't care less about me. 2 stars because the work they DID do a few weeks prior was good and professional. TL;DR they DONT do 24/7 service it's false advertising. read more

I have been using Airflow and EJ Service for the past 20 years. Luckily, throughout that ENTIRE time, I have only had to have them come out to the house a total of three times. Their first visit was to install a brand new unit. Second was to fix a degraded motor in the unit fourteen years later. Third was to install and replace same unit after 20 years of everyday use! (Even in the winter months). What I like most about Airflow is that when Gabriel comes out to troubleshoot something or give a quote, he does so with your well being in mind. He seems to be always looking for ways to save you money, while at the same time providing SUPER high quality work. When the technicians come to do much of the heavy lifting, Gabriel makes it a point to come to the site, survey the job and make sure that everything is running smoothly and that you are happy and satisfied with what is being done. His techs, Israel and Alfredo, produce clean, professional work. Alfredo has been working with him for 20 years and was the same guy who installed my first unit. Super friendly and hard working guys. I have used Airflow and EJ Service Air Conditioning for the last time. I hired them to provide maintenance on my a/c unit which has proven to be a total waste of time and money as they don't really check for anything that is essential. They basically charge to replace your filters twice a year. I recently had a HUGE problem and had another company check as things weren't working properly. Apparently, there was a slew of issues that I never knew about that caused extensive damage to my house. They were out to service my unit just a few weeks before my ceiling collapsed due to the slow leak that saturated the beams in the ceiling and never told me that anything was wrong. I spent $35,000 to replace the a/c unit and all the damage that was caused due to their negligence. read more

Extremely knowledgeable and explained how everything worked and how the environment of the area can affect the unit. He even took me out to the fan to explain how that worked and small tips which I can do myself over time to help reduce my electric bill. Fantastic service and highly recommend. My father helps run a temple in the North Hollywood area and when the AC went out we were worried it would become a huge expense. We had several companies from yelp come out on site and tell us we'd need to replace the system entirely. This would cost tens of thousands of dollars on such a grand scale. And then airflow air stepped in. They came and actually tried to diagnose the issue. They found the problem- a part that needed to be replaced lowering the cost down to a few hundred bucks. My air conditioning wasn't working. I called Airflow on the recommendation of a friend -- AFTER another company gave me an estimate to replace my air conditioning / heating unit. The first company gave me a quote that was way more than I had expected AND way more than I could afford. Airflow came out ONLY to give me a second estimate. To my surprise and delight, I was told the unit DID NOT need to be repaired OR replaced. Instead, Gabriel said I needed ONLY a new thermostat! Unbelievable! He returned later that same day and installed a new thermostat. Instead of paying $10,000 that the first company quoted, I only spent $250! I was overwhelmed. This hot weekend I had a chance to try out the new thermostat. My air conditioning worked great! I was told IF I ever needed a new unit in the future, Airflow would charge about HALF what the other company quoted. I definitely will return to Airflow. Had several estimates for a complete makeover of my 30-40 year old heating and air conditioning system: new everything right down to the studs so to speak. Everyone was professional, did a quick look around in the basement and crawlspace then left to email their bids. Except for one guy. Gabriel of Airflow. He asked if the top floor gets cool enough in the summer? He wondered if the size of the return ducting was too small for a 5 ton unit. He politely asked if he could(with mask) enter the house and look around. He probably spent a couple of hours checking out all the aspects of the potential of installation. Gabriel has a bit of an accent and with the mask was a bit hard to understand. Although he seemed like he might be a bit brusk he was very patient and never got cranky when I asked him to repeat himself. I am a bit handy and had done alot of digging and framing to create this new space for the main indoor part of the system and he was complimentary and gave me suggestions on things I could do to prepare for a new system- whether he got the gig or not. Once he left I was very impressed that he had taken the time to get the complete scope of what I was looking for and, with his experience, what I NEEDED. He sent back his bid(actually several variations) and was the first to suggest a heat pump instead of a furnace. Hmmm. A heat pump? But I already have natural gas. I did some research. Turns out, given our(present!) climate, a heat pump made alot of sense to me given how it works and it's relationship with climate change. Probably helps that I have solar panels. And a heat pump is crazy efficient. He also felt doing a zoning system would alleviate the poor performance of the AC upstairs in the house. I was excited that not only was the HVAC system going to change but my lifestyle would too- no more gathering in the lower part of the house during 100° days waiting for the bedroom to cool off. No more waiting for the outside air temp to cook off enough to run the whole house fan. I know I've gone on a bit already so let me cut to the chase: Airflow got the job and the installation was amazing. On time arrival and departure. Alfredo and Allan were polite and professional. They even let me run the wire and wire up the thermostats and also pour a nice slab for the outside unit saving them time(and me money) and letting me have some control over how things looked. Since the system just went in all I can report about is the heating. It is uniform and stealth. With the old system the air blew hot and didn't heat everywhere. With the new system you don't even notice. You don't think about the temperature. It just works! Amazing. I really couldn't be happier with how it all turned out. Usually I dread the heat of the summer but now we are prepared thanks to the people at Airflow. read more

I live out of state. My elderly mother who lives with a caregiver was having trouble with the AC during the recent heat wave. I was given Airflow's number from a close friend of theirs. ludicrous , rude, non existent service. I have a less than year old air conditioning system in my condo - it stopped during a 90+ heat wave.. finally someone came out from Airflow .. rude man insisted that the issue was a unit that needed cleaning , had frozen and needed a new filter. he left at 6 p.m. ..leaving a mess on the floor behind him. and not fixing the unit ! the air stopped about 11 p.m. I rang at 6;45 a.m. & reached the answering service (WHO has an answering service in 2016 !?!?) they promised a call back .. cut to 10;55 a.m. I have now run 5 x no callback. I had left my home & mobile #'s - at 11;03 a.m. there was a message on my home phone (the previous 2 calls had specifically stated that I was out & on my mobile) telling me that NO ONE COULD COME OUT UNTIL MONDAY .. UNACCEPTABLE !! It is now Sunday at 12 ;15 noon ... and no call, no attempt to get someone out. Unfortunately we have some type of warranty with these people but as of tomorrow I will be seeking a means to get out of this & go elsewhere. Very bad experience with this company. They asked me to pay $683 to find a leak in my air conditioner that I was able to see by just looking at the unit. I declined their $683 offer and asked them to just solder the leak closed and fill the unit with R22 freon. They charged $650 to charge my air conditioner with 8 lbs of freon; a shocking cost for freon considering other companies I called charged half that amount. Unfortunately I checked the cost after letting them fill the unit - a lesson well learned, always check prices first. I will never do business with these guys again. I consider their sales tactics deceptive and their prices outrageous. read more

We had interviewed several AC installers before we had encountered Airflow. What impressed us the most about Airflow was that Gabriel had took his time to measure the house before he gave an official estimate. Other installers did not spend that kind of time, and some contractors had even asked us what we were willing to spend for this project without taking any measurements. Another aspect we liked about Airflow was that they always answered our questions and concerns about the project, and they promptly returned our calls. When it came to the quality of work, Airflow did an excellent job. The installers were always punctual and polite. They did an outstanding job in cutting the plaster ceiling to install the ducts, and they managed to finish the project within three days. I cannot say enough great things about this company ( AKA as EJ Service). I have several rental properties in LA and use EJ for all of the maintenance and repairs. They are always prompt, clean, and honest. They give me options that do not break the bank. Yesterday, at my personal residence, our Lennox system died. We called EJ right away but they could only come the next am so we got another company to come our right away. As it turns our, EJ was better priced and got the "special order" part within ONE HOUR ( the other guy said it would take 48 hours). Better price and quicker--yeah--EJ rocks. Good and honest a/c repair. My roof a/c unit started to make noise and I feared expensive parts replacement. They came out day after I emailed them; in 10 min diagnosed loose compressor motor mount, tightened that and a bunch of other bolts. It now it hums like new. Didn't try to sell me anything and charged me their basic repair call fee $159. They are worth a try. read more

I thought Airflow was terrific. The upstairs of our home was too warm in the summer and we wanted to fix it. I have a degree in Mechanical Engineering which means I understand air conditioning. Gabriel didn't try to sell me new air conditioning, but rather suggested a two zone system. This was the right answer. I was a little skeptical though because my roof pitch doesn't allow a lot of room for ducting or people. He gave me a fair price and I agreed. He sent two very pleasant young men to do the job. They arrived when they said they would, worked their butts off, and finished when they said they would (actually faster than Gabriel's estimate). Despite them saying this was "the second most difficult" job they ever did, there was no complaining, no bad language, and they cleaned up everything. The two zone system works great. Of course my AC went out on 4th of July weekend. I live in the Valley and AC is a must. I called to leave a message at 11:30PM and was pleasantly surprised they had an answering services, I talked to a live person and scheduled a repair person for the next morning. The company called the next morning at 9AM and the technician was there at 10:30. The technician Joe was professional, very knowledgeable, and fixed our unit. He topped off the freon, cleaned the coils, replaced a cap, and explained the process. He had us up and running in under an hour.
