EDIT: About 5 minutes after I left my honest opinion in this review, the same owner from the phone-call texted me threatening that he would not fix or help my father due to the review. The way this company operates is dishonest and attempting to intimidate a customer due to my honesty regarding the lack of customer service. His message about "someone else damaging the system" are also false in an attempt to avoid any responsibility for issues with the AC system. I edited out his phone number for the sake of his privacy. PHOTOS ATTACHED. Called and left a message to the company when I realized my elderly father's AC unit wasn't working in the peak heat of summer. The owner decided to call me back on his own volition after hours, began patronizing me and implied that I should be lucky that he's calling me back after hours even though he has 3 kids. He continued to argue with me despite us being the customer and trying to figure out how to move forward. I should add - during the conversation, I requested several times for a technician to come and inspect the HVAC unit - he kept arguing with me and repeating the same thing, that he thought someone had come out to fix it and he hasn't heard from my family since months ago. My father disputes this and says he was never contacted back. To move forward, I asked repeatedly for a technician to come out to just look at the unit and he said that someone "might come" according to *their* availability. He was very unconcerned despite me attempting to disclose the issues with the AC unit during temperatures of over 100 degrees and he acted with no agency to even inspect the unit. He then hung up the phone mid-conversation. Regardless of any issues over the product or installation, I expect professionalism and etiquette when it comes to customer issues and especially with a front-facing customer service role. This was one of the most problematic, rude, and aggressive men that I've dealt with and he claimed he was the owner. read more

Here's the good: our 30 year old system died and our house quickly reached 90°. Lee's HVAC was able to get a guy to give us an estimate within 3 hrs of calling and they were installing 36 hours after the estimate was made. It took about a day and a half to install. Their speed and efficiency was great. We are happy with the installed unit. Here's the bad: the technician recommended that we upgrade our circuit breaker so our unit could run at full capacity. Thankfully my husband is an electrician and knew that if we were going to increase the breaker capacity, then the wire also has to be replaced to hold the higher capacity safely. Lee's HVAC was completely unconcerned about this. I had to mention it to the technician, call the office, and finally get notice about our options a full day after the installation was done. We were not able to run our AC until two days later when we replaced the wire ourselves. Absolutely nobody was worried about our wiring except for us. Upgrading a circuit breaker on an undersized wire is a fire hazard, and running an AC unit at a lower capacity breaker puts strain on the new machine (neither are good and should both have been a concern to the company). We were basically told they aren't licensed to do electrical work, except that their techs do handle the electrical set up and were uninformed about the risks of running a unit on an undersized wire. Overall we were unhappy with the fact that our wiring was never looked at to confirm it was compatible with the AC unit before installing. They were happy to do the job and leave without checking to make sure it was going to run at a full and safe capacity. We would have had a bad situation on our hands if my husband was not proactive. read more

Lees HVAC helped us determine our 25 year old Unit had had it. I called Lee in the evening on a Tuesday night. He picked up, got a few pertinent details and promised to send someone the very next day. We had leaking. The next day as promised Edaan showed up and looked at our unit, took the cover off the air handler and was so kind and knowledgable as he explained the coils were rusted and a repair wouldn't make sense and would cost a fortune. He quickly looked around and did an estimate for a replacement unit and labor to happen as quickly as the NEXT day? What??? My jaw dropped! Did I mention it was summer!? His team showed up the very next morning and worked diligently to replace the unit and upgrade the intake system to be more effective! They worked quietly and were so polite. They took care of everything and made it look great, even programmed the thermostat! Someone in the office is going to assist us with testing and getting a rebate from LADWP?? I wouldn't have even known to inquire. What amazes me the most is a business owner picks up the phone in the evening to help a new customer and I don't even think we were billed for easily an hour of Edaan's time. Such pro's. Was given over phone quote of $75 to clean out units. Turns out they tried to charge me $75 to simply look at the units (not clean). I had 3 so they tried charging me $225 to simply look at 3 units. Extremely dishonest. Was told my control board needed to be replaced. Including labor which is probably less than 1 hour worth of work would cost $400 for labor & $ 900 for the control board. I was able to find the part for $135. So I decided to get a second opinion. The guy with in 2 min knew exactly what Lees HVAC guy, Raymond was trying to sell me. Dmitry, the second person to look at the work was able to fix the control board with 15 min. If the price seems too high always get a second opinion. All these positive reviews are by people who haven't posted much. Fake reviews perhaps ?! read more

BEWARE - VERY DISHONEST‼‼‼We had a terrible experience with Lee's HVAC. Our power went out and we couldn't get our heater to start up again. We called Lee's HVAC because they had good yelp reviews. Raymundo Alvarez, the technician came, and apparently ripped out our fuses, transducer, and transformer and he told we needed to replace the system for $13,000‼‼‼ I thought this was suspect as we were told just weeks before by our contractor we had a strong system that would last for years. When we got a second opinion, the technician said those parts were removed. ‍‼‼‼ SEE Ray's texts acknowledging the removed parts and Lee's defense and bill. We lived without heat for a month until we were able to get what they PURPOSELY DAMAGED fixed by a contractor our contractor rec'd. But our trust in humanity is hurt by Lee's. They never acknowledged what they did. Their only credit was they were nice to our faces and they gave our deposit back but never rectified the damage they caused. I was looking for 18k btu mini split for my bedroom. Lee's HVAC claimed that I could get most of the money back through LADWP rebate. I checked online and found out that LADWP requires the unit to service the whole home, not be a supplementary solution. I scheduled an onsite appointment, but they did not show up. They made my HVAC worse than they met it. They will offer a tune-up service of $30 but it's a trap. My system started freezing up few hours after they left. They leaked the refrigerant and almost destroyed my system. After many calls, they have refused to send anyone else in. Had to get someone else to fix their mess, and paid a lot for it. read more

This is a follow-up to my April 4 review, which I agreed to remove if Lee's HVAC honored their commitment to return for a third (since they missed the first two) appointment and complete the AC tune-ups as promised, including the complimentary service Raymond offered to make up for the earlier oversight. As I explained to the company, coordinating access for four tenants at the same time is extremely difficult. I managed to do this three separate times to accommodate their schedule. Unfortunately, during the last visit, Raymond missed servicing one of the apartments--likely due to rushing to complete all four units within a very limited timeframe. That said, I am choosing to give the company the benefit of the doubt. I have been told they are willing to return and correct the issue, and I am making a good-faith effort to trust that Lee's HVAC will follow through on their promise. I have requested photo documentation to confirm that the HVAC areas were properly serviced and cleared. I was promised by the office in a written estimate that the condenser units would be hosed down, though I have some reservations given the short amount of time spent on-site. My rooftop HVAC unit was leaking water into my hallway and my usual HVAC company wasn't able to send a tech right away because it was in the middle of a heat wave. I called Lee's and they were able to send a tech that day. But when the tech came, he misdiagnosed the problem and said we needed to replace the whole unit. He gave us a quote for $13,000 and did a hard sell. My usual HVAC guy came a couple of days later and fixed the issue for $300 and said the unit just needed a flush.
