Today I watched a woman try to change tags and get a stack of plates for $5 she yelled at the 2 men working because they simply stated " I am sorry but that price is wrong " they didn't humiliate her ( I would have) they said "I am sorry but those are $20 .. she argued and ended up yelling "BAD BUSINESS!!" And ran out to her car parked in the tow away zone ! Classic "karen" anyway ! That's not the point ! The point for me is ... the staff handled the situation with professionalism/ courage and grace .. BUT .. the best part is that tucked back on the left of the store are aluminum full and super sturdy full size chafing pans for .... .99 cents !! I kid you not !! Then sterno for .79cents !! What ????? I pay $2.50 at walmart and have to stack TWo pans to prevent them from collapsing!! Sterno is $3.99 !! Sad for you .. I bought them out thinking they were on sale !! BUT the knowledgeable staff told me that's standard pricing !! Ok so long story (well) longer .. great staff - great convent location- amazing selection - Super PRICES !!- and locally owned !! I love that they often host free events (both family friendly and adult oriented) and also things like fitness classes. There are places to take a seat and relax and there are some nice amenities and fun attractions like Shark Girl. There is ample surface lot parking plus there is the Harborfront garage. There is currently an indoor exhibit that is free (and air conditioned) about the history of the Erie Canal. There is also a canal boat, the carousel and the navel park. The one down side is that there seems to be perpetual construction. There are always fences, road blocks and other construction around. Great that development is happening, but it means that it might be a challenge to get around. A great place to enjoy the Buffalo waterfront and spend some time outdoors.

Throughout this time, I was waiting on a finalized dinner menu, which I was originally told would be provided in January but was not shared with me until April. Because I did not receive the necessary menu and details needed to move forward, I never signed a contract for the date and time that was being discussed. Despite this, communication continued as though the date and time were being held and finalized. Unfortunately, due to the lack of timely communication and formal confirmation, I lost the originally discussed time slot. The alternative time offered did not work for most of my group, resulting in many of my guests being unable to attend. Rachel was not kind or understanding about the issue and did not provide helpful support in resolving the situation, which added to the frustration. That being said, Captain Bruce Andrews was amazing, and the food was actually pretty good.

Please don't forget to protect the hearing of your younger little friends or children of all ages; please invest in good hearing protection for those more sensitive ears ~ they will thank you when they are older plus won't bother you with the constant "what did you say?". From one who suffers from it, it's not funny though many who do not suffer from hearing loss will always crack a [few] jokes. With as many static displays on the taxiway as they did up in the air, they did not disappoint with great displays zipping around the Falls area! We snapped our pixs outside the overly-packed base as often as we did off the base each day they flew in practice and not! If you think you can watch off base at some great places, think again! Many roads close to the base have the shoulders blocked off and patrolled by police to avoid traffic problems and unsafe driving conditions. This was in effect during each day of the air show. On Sunday the final day of the show, the base reached capacity (we were onbase and heard the announcement!) and that meant nobody ELSE would be allowed onbase! This is to allow base personnel to ensure safety and well-being for all of us spectators ONbase! To willingly exceed the base capacity, would result on them not being able to ensure the safety of everyone. Lots of activities for kids of all ages, with each aspect of the show on and off base coordinated very well! Off site parking was at two huge lots that I knew of, with lots of buses taking people from and to their cars every 20mins during the air show and after! Friday was an invite-only for military and retirees who are registered with the base RAO (good reason to let them know where you are!). I got my parking pass/invitation by mail a week before the show, and loved it. A bit of a problem during this special show as parked static aircraft blocked most of the runway/aerial view. During the remaining two air show days (the official air show weekend), that problem was resolved as they had opened up the taxi and runway area, plus the offending aircraft were moved. Be sure to bring headgear if the sun will be out (most likely), liquid drinks, snacks etc. Bags are allowed but everyone goes through security for access to the official air show observation areas! Lists of allowed/NOT allowed items will be published. You CAN bring in _empty_ water bottles and later fill with water at any of the various water bottle filling stations. Stayed tuned to news/papers for more detailed information as the show date nears. Am hoping next year the US Navy Blue Angels will be here as they fly a great routine after having seen them six years in San Francisco's October Fleet Week. Don't forget the earplugs for the kids pleeeeease!!!

For this party, we ended up needing delivery out to Cheektowaga, which the previous company would not do. I did a quick search and found Big City and we quickly got in contact with them because they delivered. There was no crazy deposit, they dropped everything off the day before and picked up everything after the party was over. Solid rental price, delivery and more importantly, great customer service. They earned our business and will use them again in the future.

Updated review 8/9/26…read more Another great WNY/Buffalo summer experience. I have increased my rating of the Moondance catamaran boat ride, leaving the Erie Basin Marina. Even though the boat does not sail out onto a Lake Erie as far as one would expect, $28 for a cruise at sunset especially is definitely worth it. The views of the Buffalo skyline, the lit up silo and the Naval Park, are spectacular from the water. Next year, I'm considering buying a season pass. This way I can enjoy the sailing anytime I want. as much as I want during the sailing season. Cocktails are reasonably priced on board. You're allowed to bring your own food and snacks from home. The music to accompany the tour was a little loud at first, but then turn down which was appreciated. The captain and his crew were friendly and gave good advice on before the sail began. The ramp from the dock makes it easy for those with disabilities to board and exit the ship. There are two bathrooms below deck. But they do require some stairs to go down.
