I have been going to Airport Vet. For my cats since 2005. My cats had no issues with Dr Kelly or Dr Victoria. I also enjoyed our visits. Fortunately for them they have retired. Best wishes to them! I took my cat to Airport Vet a couple weeks ago. We were put in the euthanize room, then the tech wrapped her in a towel and took her away from me! I was told to wait in the room and they would be back with her. The vet came back with the tech and Onyx wrapped up. Oh do not remember if the vet introduced herself. Had three syringes but don't remember is she said what they were. Today she was scheduled for a follow up shot. Again I wanted to go with my cat but the tech said I'd need to make another appointment. The first appointment cost $387+ and today was quoted as $46 but they wanted to charge me $57.60. So my thoughts are they are not friendly and way over priced. Maybe you may go back with your dogs but not your cat. Not returning! read more

In Destin for a bit from out of state. My pup is undergoing chemotherapy back at home and was in need of follow up bloodwork. Airport vet was close by to us and was willing to see us as long as we had his vet records sent to them prior to the appointment. I was pleasantly surprised at how much they reviewed his records before his appointment. They were sweet with my pup and efficient. It was a positive experience overall and I'd definitely return if we ever need to. read more

We were in town with our pups and one of our dogs seemed a bit out of it. So as a precaution before the weekend and driving back to Atlanta we headed to Airport Vet to see if it was something serious. They were booked solid but told us a good time to come in as a stand by. Wowza were there busy. You would think they were the only vet in the area. But after visiting with the doctors I understand the demand. Small practice but they were able to squeeze us in very fast. After a few tests we found out our pup had SARDS. Essentially she went blind in 4 days. She was compassionate and gave us the name of a specialist in Atlanta. And to top it off (she didn't have to) she didn't charge us. We will never go anywhere else when at the beach. Wish they were local in Atlanta. read more

There are not many great Veterinary options in Destin, but out of all of them this one seemed like the best option for my 4 pets. Dr Lyon was great along with technician Kait, receptionist Cara & Tina, but I did not care for any of the other veterinarians or staff working there, for a handful of reasons. After spending about $700 on labs, diagnostics, specialty foods-I took my golden to see a more reputable vet in Pensacola for a second opinion and it turns out that he has stomach cancer. The veterinarian at Airport told me my dog was healthy and fine and I was looked at like I was being over dramatic and making his illness up. My dog had lost a significant amount of weight, was not eating, and vomiting 2-3x a day-oh and the mass on his stomach is very obvious to see on X-ray, but somehow the veterinarian at Airport overlooked it..... Thank goodness I took him in for a second opinion. We will not be returning to Airport Vet. Just an update on our sweet boy Benning, he had to be euthanized October 21st. I took Benning in for the first time to be seen by Dr Haeusler on August 29th! She ran bloodwork on him, took xrays, the whole work up, and told me he was FINE & HEALTHY. Two months later we had to euthanize our sweet 8 year old pup because he had lost so much weight, couldn't eat anymore, and was vomiting about 5-7x a day! Our hearts still ache and we miss our boy every single day. If you care at all about your animals, do yourself a favor and DO NOT let this veterinarian care for your pet! read more

This vet is AMAZING!!! I took my yellow lab Bella here yesterday after noticing a abrasion on her right back paw! Like many puppy families our dogs are like our babies so immediately made an appointment and took her in! Staff was so welcoming and kind bringing her water and caring for her! Wrapped her up with a DIVA bandage ;) and sent us on our way fast and simple! 10/10 recommend this vet! We have been part time residents in Destin for many years and used this clinic for several issues for our dogs and boarding. We called because of a serious issue with our 8 year old Lab, who was lethargic and sometimes non-responsive, and they said they could not get her in for over a week. We took her to another clinic that agreed to se her right away and called them back to ask Airport Vet clinic to forward her records so she could be seen and they refused. I don't think we'll be using this clinic for any service again. read more

Kudos to Airport Veterinary Clinic for having caring, compassionate employees! I was driving on Hwy 98 last week and saw a tiny kitten stumbling across the road in the midst of heavy traffic and construction. I immediately stopped my car and found the poor little thing bleeding from the nose and paw. I stopped traffic for a minute, got a towel, wrapped he/she in it and put her on the floor of my back seat. I proceeded to call Airport Vet, since they were the closest vet, and asked if they would take in an injured kitten. They said yes! I drove there and found the kitten was very mobile and jumped out of my car when I cracked the door open. 3 techs from the clinic climbed a cyclone fence to retrieve the kitten. I had to leave for an appointment, but I called later and found out the kitten was going to be ok. A job well done! read more

As far as vets, I take care of animals for other people and have taken them to different vets, but I personally would NEVER take my animals to any other Vet. Dr.Kelly has taken care of 4 of our animals and had to put two down. She has more compassion than any vet we had in Nashville and any or any others here that I have visited. I've always had very positive things to say about Airport Vet, that is until today. Today, I spoke with the office manager, an angry and insulting lady, whom I had never spoken to before. The problem concerned a bill that was paid in full, at the time of service. Now, four to five months later, the manager called and told me I owed an additional $120.00 due to being undercharged for some pills, for my pet. I told her that had I known the pills were $129.00 I would have declined the purchase. (As it was, I purchased -basically- the same pills, Cosequin for dogs, at Wal-Mart for $12.97). My upsetness concerned, not the fact that I was being dunned for a mistake by Airport Vet, but the rude attitude of the manager. After explaining the whole story to her, she reprimanded me by intimating that I knew I was cheating Airport Vet because I had to know the pills were more costly that what I was charged. (Yes, really). I explained to her that I did not eyeball the line items on the bill, at the time of service, but just looked at the total and paid. Traditionally, even in a restaurant, I look to see if the total is in line with my estimate of the charge. When I go to Wal-Mart to shop for food I do not look at every price before, or after, I pay. My experience in shopping for food allows me to look in my cart and come up with an approximate cost. Only if my bill turns out to be not in line with my educated guess do I question the food bill. I do the same at restaurants. Right or wrong, smart or stupid that's what I do. She didn't believe me and said so. She asked me what pharmacy could I go to and get 60 or 90 pills for $9.00, the original price for the pills on the vet bill. I told her that I'm charged exactly $9.00 for a three month supply of many of my daily medications. (Her question was not relevant to my "estimate" argument.). However, she wouldn't give up. She continued her abusive harangue by telling me there was no way I didn't know the true cost of the pills. I told her I was offended by her insinuations and by her offensive tone. I told her that, because of her, I would not be returning to Airport Vet, where I had been going with my pets for almost 15 years. She said that was fine, but I needed to pay the $90.00. Sad how a bad employee can hurt an otherwise fine establishment. I told her I was not going to pay, so I guess I'll be getting a letter form a credit collector. Other than this crazy lady, Airport Vet is a great place to bring your pets. read more

We moved to Destin from Ohio in 2015. Our dogs are family so I think we scrutinize a vet more than a doctor for ourselves. Our first experience with Airport vet our little 5lb papillon hurt her toenail. They had us bring her right in and Dr Haeusler removed her toenail and taped her up in pretty pink tape fit for the princess she is. They were so wonderful there. We have seen every vet in the practice I think. Dr Ratcliffe was with me when we had to let our 13 year old foster fail go. She and the vet tech were so kind. Early in April, we had an incident at our house where one of our dogs went after our little papillon over a chew. We had to take the little papillon to the ER vet and she lost her eye. They did surgery and sent us to our "regular vet" the following week. Leia's stitches/eye kept filling up with fluid and I can't count the number of times that we called and they had us bring her in so they could look at it. They drained it once with a little surgery while we waited (with anesthetic), tested the fluid but then she eventually had to have the entire eye opened to see why it kept filling up. Dr Ratcliffe, Dr Lyons and Dr Haeusler ALL worked on our little girl to get her thru this tragedy AND to help her mommy and daddy get thru this. Tina, one of the vet techs is the most amazing person as well. She hugged ME when I cried seeing my girl with a drain tube out of her eye, she held our little girl even when she could have put her down. She takes her from me and I am not sure sometimes I will get her back.And I about fell over one day bringing her in so they could see her eye to be told there was no charge. I may not have found a doctor for myself BUT I love this group of ladies from the front desk....Tara, Whitney, Tina, Brittany, the doctors and if I left any one out or mis spoke names I am so sorry.... read more

Dr. Lyons as well as the other doctors and staff provided great care for my cat. He was there for 8 days with a urinary blockage, I was expecting an outrageous bill, but it was less than half of what I anticipated! In addition, they were always available to give me updates when I called, and I could visit him anytime. Best of all, they were able to resolve the problem without surgery or invasive treatment, and he was able to come home a healthy kitty! read more

Awful experience bringing my cat there, brought him in on a Thursday, needed to stay the night, came in on Friday and they said he wasn't ready but Saturday they would call and we could bring him home. That never happened so at 12:15 we called them only to be told they closed at noon and are closed Sunday so what should've been one night turned into 4! They never apologized for not calling and charged us for all 4 nights! Will never go again read more
