Dr Wight is the most talented and intelligent Veterinarian I have ever known. He surgically repaired a hepatic shunt on my 4 month old, 4 pound Bichon that was on deaths door with liver failure. What a wonderful veterinarian and staff! We were afraid our little Maltese was going to die. He had disc problem. Dr Wright operated and solved the problem. He then informed us that there were other discs that could be problematic. He gave us specific dietary and exercise for after the rehabilitation. We dropped Wesley off each Monday and Claimed him each Friday. You could tell the staff were wonderful with the animals. Wesley may have a limp but he is alive and happy! read more

No one loves visiting a place that has both "Vet" and "Surgery" in its name, but if your dog has an ailment that needs to be seen by a specialized vet, this is the place you want to go. My pup has a history of back issues, and of course, while I'm visiting my folks in Florida, she decides to subject herself to another injury. Frantic, I start calling around trying to find a Vet that could treat her IVDD issues, since that requires either an MRI or CT machine. Luckily, I stumbled across SurgeryVet and Dr. Wight and his amazing staff. He was able to get Zoey seen immediately. He was compassionate, asked questions and really listened. He performed a number physical response tests on her before suggesting costly scans. He sat with us and made sure we understood the diagnosis and treatment options. At no time did I feel rushed and every question I asked was answered in a knowledgeable manner. Fortunately, we caught this back injury in time to avoid surgery, but the Dr. suggested laser therapy to alleviate swelling and pain. Knowing I was in from out-of-town and had limited time to treat Zoey, the doctor asked me to come in over the weekend to treat her with laser. They are usually closed on the weekend but the doctor went out of his way to make sure my pup got the treatments she needed. He also talked to me about a new treatment that Zoey would be a candidate for. He explained it in detail and mentioned it was new to the market and as soon as he receives training he would give me a call to discuss it further. The staff is all smiles, friendly and professional. They remember Zoey as soon as I walk in the door with her. They also seem very concerned for the well-being of Zoey and her recovery. The doctor has popped in to check on Zoey when his staff is administering the laser. Had Zoey needed the IVDD surgery, it's an all-inclusive price including physical therapy, which is awesome. I have gone through this surgery once with her and it would have been a dream to have the PT included in the cost as it's something your pet HAS to have after an IVDD procedure. Dr. Wight and his staff have wonderful bedside manner and top-notch facilities. Their prices are reasonable. I'm happy to see a place like this exist in FWB. read more

I am not one for writing very many reviews but I think everyone should know what I experienced while bringing my little dog Clyde into Veterinary Surgery Service. Clyde was scheduled for an ultrasound with a fine needle aspiration of the liver. Clyde was checked in and not long after was taken to the back for the procedure. Minutes later a staff member told me that Doctor Wight would like me to come into the procedure room so I could see what he was viewing on the screen while performing the ultrasound....Let me just tell you what I saw in that room really blew me away, I couldn't believe my eyes. There were 4 staff members around my dog ( not because he was acting up) but because they were trying to make him feel comfortable and that everything was okay. They were working as a team, one staff member was at Clyde's head consoling him while another was at his feet and two petting him and talking to him soft and sweet at his side. I am so glad that I witnessed what I saw when walking into that room, and I really think you will be too. How many times have we taken our furry little loved ones somewhere and as they are led behind closed doors we can only hope they will be treated with the same love and compassion, we feel towards them. Dr. Michael Vitucci is a phenomenal surgeon - he and his staff took incredible care of my German Shepherd, who had a fist-sized mass extremely close to his spine. I was referred to him by my primary vet, who said the surgery was too complex for a routine outpatient procedure. Every step of the way, Dr. Vitucci explained what was happening; from the CT scan, radiology reports, the surgery itself, and following up numerous times. I cannot say enough good things about this clinic. First, the woman who answered the phone when I made the appointment to get a mass removed from my best friend was super reassuring and educating-so much of a relief considering the vet who referred me here was not so great on the bed-side manner. The minute I spoke with Dr. Wight's team, I knew one thing was certain, I was referred to the right place. I had been asking various vets for two years about a growth that initially tested benign and was told often to "leave it if it's not bothering him." As the years and annual checks came and went, the mass grew larger. Finally last month I said no more I had the money to test again, and did. The fluid that came out was different this time and within 2 weeks I was scheduled with Dr. Wight for surgery on my buddy. For those of you who know this is your best friend and are scared of the surgery or outcome-he will not steer you wrong. They did a whole panel the day of, ekg, chest X-rays, and blood work so that he knew whether or not my dog was able to handle the surgery and anesthesia. He updated me along the way and I got great news about the surgery. Removed it, sent him home with a drain the next day and Ben (my dog) has been acting like nothing happened. This mass was huge! Do not assume that it's too big to be removed! Ask. I only had to give my dog one pain pill the first day he was home and two days worth of anti-inflammatory. We are awaiting the pathology report-but even if it comes back as soft-tissue sarcoma, we have options for a cool vaccine that uses your dogs' tumor to create a vaccine for prevention of regrowth! He's so cool and I feel so thankful for this man and all of the techs that helped us along the way. I highly recommend this team-and if I'm writing this, just know I wouldn't steer anyone wrong. This is my best friend. He's been with me for 9 years and I was so sick about the procedure. Dr. Wight is fantastic! Thank you to all-and this is not a sponsored or paid endorsement. This Veterinary Surgery Service is my worst nightmare. I was referred to them by a Navarre Vet Hospital. I had a French Bull Dog that needed to have a heart scan. When I went to the office they took us in this room and had a sheet of paper with all kind of charges totally $1800 or more. I told the vet tech and also the vet I only want the heart scan done and nothing else. The Vet tech had me to initial Heart Scan only. When I spoke to the vet I told him the same. The vet proceeded to also do an X-ray without consent. When he returned with my dog he said she had an enlarged heart and would have vet to give her meds. Something was not right with her she threw up and was acting very tired. I told the vet tech and she said she is ok she is just tired from the test. When I left the office I only got a couple of blocks and she died. I took her back to the vet office and the only consolation I received from the vet was I guess her heart was worst than I thought. He did refund me for the test that was not authorized. I had a feeling when I first went there to run why I didn't I will never know. So please if anyone walks in this place and feels the same please turn around and leave. I have lost a very precious part of my life that I will never get back due to Greedy Heartless, Non-Caring Veterinary! read more

This place is amazing! Dr. Vitucci was recommended by my primary vet. My little maltese was severely injured and needed surgery to repair her broken jaw. The procedure was explained in detail and to be honest I was so disappointed that her bottom front chin would have to be removed because of the condition of her bone. Dr. Vittuci assured me he could make it look good but in my mind I just couldn't picture it. I am completely blown away! I'm telling you it looks fabulous! If I didn't know what she's been thru I'd never even know part of her jaw is missing, her chin looks so natural. This surgeon is brilliant and he's a self professed perfectionist and it really shows in his work. If your pet needs surgery this is the place you want to take them, and rest assured they will be in good hands with Dr. Vitucci and staff.
