I'm gonna tell you a dirty secret about Ohio, HVAC companies. In my opinion, most of them don't know what they're doing and at worst are thieves. I never said they're not smart. They know how to take it advantage of you.. Be honest, you're gonna do almost anything they say to make sure you're comfortable in your home, no matter what it cost. They will show you meters and charts and go into technical detail to add legitimacy to the bill. IMHO They're going to give you bs Bottom line in my case I had four different companies come out, and each one of them gave a different excuse of what the problem was and of course each had a very expensive solution. It wasn't the cost that really bothered me so much is that each company had a different take on what caused the problem and what's going to fix it. In snow it was was one of those "we got to see what we find in order to give you a quote" So when you hear something like you're out of refrigerant....or your equipment is out of spe,,,,,get another opinion!!! Simply the Best HVAC company I have ever dealt with in my entire life. Some of the best customer service you will ever encounter in the field. When you call, the phone will be answered by Brett. who is knowledgeable, friendly, and totally focused on solving your problems. So often when you call an HVAC company the person answering is a bad communicator- not so here - Brett is sharp as a tack and is actually the nephew of the guy who founded the company. The person who came to service our R22 unit (that we were told was unfixable) was Evan, the owner of the company and the son of the founder who started Airtronics in 1973. Being a small, family run company, allows Airtronics to make much more strategic and well-thought-out decisions than your typical run-of-the-mill repair co. Evan was like a cross between Sherlock Holmes and House M.D. Methodically he eliminated all of the things that could've been going wrong and knocked them off one at a time with humor, empathy, honesty, intelligence, and integrity. At the end of the day, he saved us from having to rip out and install an entirely new system which would have cost us 60 thousand dollars. His team of workers did a fantastic followup job and Airtronics has got to be one of the highest recommendations I have ever made on Yelp. I cannot recommend Airtronics more highly. I had an air-conditioning emergency in a prewar apartment with an older central air system that had been installed long ago by another company. Airtronics sent someone immediately, and accurately diagnosed and fixed the problem. It was a complicated situation and needed some follow up. Everything Airtronics did was necessary, excellent, and impeccably managed. Everyone I have spoken with or met at this company, from Brett who organized everything and coordinated all the follow up, to Billy who was the wizard technician, to Evan, the owner, who came himself to make sure that the diagnosis and follow up was correct, has been incredibly professional, very respectful of our home, and very communicative with us. Last year, on the hottest day in August, my central a/c virtually died. Through a yelp search, I called AIRTRONICS. Later that morning Evan's crew came out and my got my moldy dinosaur running. I had known for three years my a/c was dying, but each time that I had different company come in to fix another a/c problem none of those technicians instilled confidence in me that they could handle the replacement I really needed. After Evan's guys handled my quick-fix I decided it was time for the arduous task of replacing my entire system. I spoke to Evan, got a reasonable estimate then he went to work to install my new cooling system. What could have been a terrible task in my co-op was a breeze with Evan's expertise and quiet, clean installation; rarely have I been so happy with a vendor. Evan and his team are so amazing! They were the HVAC contracted company our building used (the one we had was terrible) for our office in the West Village. These guys did something on our floor via the building manager and they were so gracious and helpful even though we weren't customers. Easily one of the best companies I have ever worked with. Evan is incredibly patient and thorough in his explanations and every member of his crew was helpful and knowledgeable. Unfortunately our office AC unit had been installed by another company and had recurring issues, but even on the hottest of days Airtronics would pick up the phone and find a way to accommodate us. I was introduced to Airtronics a little over two years ago. My boss was looking at a commercial space for his business and was questioning the quality of the AC unit. Not wanting to get hit with a huge expense right away we needed an inspection. I did a Google search and was turned down by many companies since we need the unit looked at ASAP. I found Airtronics and was put in contact with Evan. I explained the situation, and he was more than willing to fit us into his schedule. Evan and his team were at the location the next morning, and their thorough report helped determine that this place would be the wrong move. Extremely pleased with the work I save this number and throughout the long process of finding a location I would end up calling Evan whenever we needed an AC unit checked. Recently it was the grand opening event at my boss's gallery. Of course, 8 pm the night before the AC decided to die. Once again I contact Evan and not surprisingly even though this was very last minute, and he was packed with appointments the next morning his team was there fixing the unit. This event could have been a huge disaster without a working AC unit, but thanks to Evan and his team the night was a huge success. I can't say enough good things about Airtronics and Evan. Whenever I have contact Evan, he always responds right away and has gone above and beyond to help me out. I have been scammed by 3 air conditioning companies in the last 3 years. Evan and his professional team came to my rescue in April, 2017 and fixed all my problems. They pressure cleaned all the coils well. They properly diagnosed the part ($85) that failed in the compressor (another company had wanted $4500 to replace the entire compressor). They even diagnosed the noise problem in another unit and fixed the vibrations with some simple pads. These are thoroughly professional and decent people. We're a creative agency based in a large building in midtown Manhattan. We were lucky enough to have found Evan and his team at Airtronics. They are professional, prompt, courteous and efficient. The helped us set up our unit for the Winter and came back in the Spring to prep us for the Summer. Called Airtronics after finding them online, and seeing other positive Yelp ads. I usually do not write reviews, but this company stands out and deserves a big thumbs up!! Our commercial 10 ton air conditioner wasn't working, and our usual hvac company could not fit us into their schedule. Upon calling Airtronics, I found they answered the phone immediately. Spoke to Brett who was friendly, informative, and very accommodating. He said a tech would arrive within 2-3 hours. Sure enough he arrived in less than 2 hours. The tech (Jason) was amazing. He found the problem immediately, and explained the issues in depth as he found them. Within hours a big problem was fixed, at a very reasonable price. I also communicated with Evan, the owner, who was also exceptionally nice, when I enquired about having this company do our preventive maintenance. Called and fixed in the same day!! When does that ever happen? This family owned business obviously takes care and pride with their customer service. If I could give ten stars, I would. Complete satisfaction from beginning to end.
