Simone and his staff are friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. I've lost count of how many jobs we've done together. When it came to installing new heat pumps in my own house, I chose them. We first got a visit from Simon Arnica himself. Warm, friendly and quite knowledgable. His office gave us the same friendly energy. Once we were ready to install our new mini-split system, his crew showed up on time, was very professional, and their work was immaculate. We were working with a high end contractor, and he said that they were one of the most impressive HVAC companies he's ever worked with...mostly about the quality and way they handled their business. BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE I called this company to fix my AC. They were not able to fix. They actually damaged the unit then tried to sell us another one. After we declined they only repaired what they broke then tried to charge $3100. Then they send their attack dogs from billing to spray with calls. I called them to see whether they can help with the issue I am having. No interest what so ever in even listening. "I can send you someone to come over for a visit. It will be $ 199 for the visit and $ 199 for the diagnostic" No one charges for the visit, the most is $ 150 and even then it is something you can deduct from the work. These guys want $400 to come say hello. The problem with these super simple units are so standard and so few, they could have listened and sent the right guy to fix instead. Good people...good work I live in Manhattan and had them install a split level Mitsubishi system with 2 compressors, 2 wall mount vents and 2 ceiling cassettes (the ceiling cassettes are awesome!). I would say the install was complicated as it took some custom work to mount the compressors and all the piping was done internally (not outside). They did a great job communicating through the process. The office and installer staff were super polite, courteous and helpful. Simon worked hard to accommodate the electrician's needs and made a strong effort to keep costs down. After installation, the system needed some minor tweaks, to which they quickly fixed. Great experience and I would recommend them. read more

Professionalism and service are both 5 star. I have an apt in the city, but live in Florida. I am only here part time. With that being said, communication is key to coordinate time of service. I had 2 AC-related needs at my apartment: a new AC installation to the existing Mitsubishi system, and also older units started leaking water, so I called Arnica for a maintenance visit as well. Simone came in for the initial visit, answered all questions and gave me installation options. Jackie from the office was very helpful with paperwork needed for our co-op management for a new AC installation. Anthony came in for the maintenance visit and did a fantastic job. He cleaned all the units thoroughly, gave tips for future maintenance and was very friendly and polite. Paul and another technician came for the new AC installation, they were on time, efficient, quick, did a great job, then helped with the cleanup too. My only wish that they had availability sooner, but I understand that it's the busiest time of the season. After screening a wide variety of HVAC specialist in the NYC area for the extension of my new business space's HVAC unit I was thrilled to receive such professional conduct and consideration from Arnica! From the incredible response time from the main office (Jackie is phenomenal at follow-through and getting you answers) to onsite visits actually on-time, not a 2 hour window, no, actually on time! Simone runs the show and does it very well. There's a sort of three-step process: Step One: Simone sets up a time that works for you to arrive on-site for a primary walk-through so he can had the right techs come out for the next stage. Step Two: Simone's team of installers visit on-site to measure and give a more accurate outline of buildout/HVAC needs - they were also on time and very quick to get the info they need. Step Three: The final quote is built off the installer's feedback, which Simone walks through with you, you then make the decision to approve before setting up the project scope. These steps were all at no cost as it qualifies as your consultation. If you have a heating & air project of any degree I would highly recommend Simone and his team because of their dedication to precision and quality work. read more

After 50 years of service from my old gas furnace, I was uneasy about navigating the new world of residential heating systems. Living in a four story brownstone added to the challenge. Had Arnica install my Mitsubishi Split System about 3 years ago with no problems whatso ever in that time ( By the way I Love this system) Then the condensate pump begin coming on every hour for 5 or so minutes at a time making a vibrating,grating sound for no reason ( it was winter and I wasn't even using the system) Techs came to see it and left with no prognosis,while another two weeks of pumping noise went on. Then Arnica had Neil come out and the pump was not working correctly so he installed a new one in the closet where one of split units is upstairs on an intereior wall. Back to normal now.. This is my first review, but my third service call from Arnica. They were very prompt and professional. The first call was about a strange smell coming from my Mitsubishi split system. They came and showed me the dust and grime all over the coils, cleaned it all up, and showed me how to do it myself. I was so pleased I wrote down their name to remember to call them in again, which I did; not for a smell, but because I saw a lot of dust and what I thought could be mold inside the unit; so I did not feel comfortable cleaning it myself. Again they were prompt and professional. But you get what you pay for, and they are not inexpensive. It cost $150 to clean the filters of one unit, and I have six. I will be calling them back again next year. read more

I did a lot of searching for a legitimate HVAC company for my PTAC unit that needed repair. The experience was smooth from start to finish; they were very professional and I even spoke to the owner, Simon, at one point, and he was very kind. I had messed up my certificate of insurance and had to reschedule w/ Arnica even though the technicians were already on their way to my apartment; they were all understanding and we just worked out another day. Certificate of insurance was returned very quickly to me, which made the whole process easy and smooth. Jay the technician was intelligent, hard-working, courteous and professional! I was very frustrated when I called Arnica, they had been out less than a month ago and the a/c at our office stopped cooling over the weekend. I reached the answering service but the owner (I assume) called back to say he would make sure someone got out to us the next day. Sure enough, the same knowledgable technician, Jay was in our office by midday Monday (today.) Turns out the unit needs a new motor which will be installed tomorrow since he has to pick up the part. They have a sleazy business model. They quote you $99 for the service call (applicable to the work), and then give you a very inflated quote for both parts and labor on the work itself. On the other hand, the tech seemed all right and they came the same day. Still, this is one of those deals where you feel screwed halfway through. Although they were busy ,they found a slot for me the next day. My tech was JAY. He was prompt and quite courteous . He found my a/c problem although it was a tight spot to access , he never complained and kept a smile on his face .A beautiful job done cleanly and properly . I just had Arnica install the newest model Mitsubishi ductless mini split system in my NY apartment. The install was not an easy one and other diamond contractors shied away from the job. My installer was Paul who managed to shimmy out on a slanted solarium rooftop 5 floors up and securely mount a large 130 lb. compressor. He also went out of his way by concealing the unsightly line set behind my walls. The Arnica team cleaned up after the job and went out of their way to clean up the mess left by the electrical team. The completed installation looks pristine and the amount of cooling these units produce is magnificent. Many others in my condo building on East 86th Street have used Arnica and are just as pleased. The owner Simone is hands-on and very involved in all aspects of his installations from start to finish and he continues to remain involved for maintenance down the road.
