My husband loves airway pizza and if you follow me you know he likes things plain so what do we order a plain cheese pizza. I love that its not to oily like other. Today we picked up a large pizza they do have delivery but we were in the area so we did carry out. I also wanted to try some tiramisu today so we grabbed one of those also. Sorry I was not a fan of this one, however the pizza was on point and very delicious. Cost around $27.00 not including tip. Service was good we placed the order over the phone, once we arrived we had a little wait time but that is because we got in a little early they do have a couple tables to sit at. Cashier was quick. Ambiance small like shop very quick paced. if you need a moment to order step aside so others can get in and out. They do sell by the slice also. I stopped in here while walking around the neighborhood and hearing some good reviews from friends. Inside the restaurant it's your typical no frills NYC pizza place that I picture in my mind. A bunch of pizza's, calzones, pizza rolls and garlic knots great you next to the register. There was cheese, pepperoni, sausage, some bbq wing flavored (couldn't quite tell) and veggie pies to choose from. Or simply order off the take out menu or from the signs overhead. I ordered a few cheese slices and they were promptly warmed back up in the oven before being served. To the left and slightly behind you when facing the register are chili pepper flakes, and additional things you may wish to add to your pizza. I added pepper flakes and off I went. The cheese pizza is just as I would have expected. Flavorful and a bit greasy and thin crust just like NY style pizza should be. Napkins are on the table for your grease soaking and finger cleaning needs. The tables are pretty clean as is the restaurant. The service is pretty quick for dine in at least. read more

Avoid this place like the plague. This is the first NY pizza joint I tried and it was very disappointing. ATMOSPHERE/ARCHITECTURE: N/A/10 I ordered delivery. SERVICE : 4/10 The order came within 45 minutes as anticipated. However the delivery man was not very pleasant. I gave him a $20 bill for the order and he scoffed it and handed it back to me, saying that the corner was torn and he could not take it. The bill had all the pieces in tact, with just a small tear in the corner. I was taken aback. Even banks will take a bill that has 60% of it's normal area. I was annoyed. I wasn't sure if I had another bill. He insisted I look. Luckily I had one. FOOD: 4/10 I ordered bacon pizza. Honestly, it didn't look so bad, but biting in the crust and kind of tough and chewy. Bad. The bacon was also hard and not very crisp or crunchy. And the BIGGEST pizza sin ever, the cheese tore off in big chunks, leaving gaping holes in the pizza exposing naked tomato sauce. Bad, bad. I ate it purely for the calories. PROBABILITY OF RETURN: 0/10 The pizza was bad. And seeing as that is their flagship item, I have low hopes for anything else. Have always loved a seafood pizza but could not find one locally. One day I walked in to airways pizza and was stunned to see that they had seafood pizza. Been ordering from here for a decade and never realized that my favorite pizza was only a few block away. Can highly recommend it, have been both my partners and my favorite pizza. If I have to say something negative it would be that it's a bit much tomato sauce, even if you order less sauce they give the same large amount. First of all, the pizza came with wrong toppings. We called and the owner told us that he will pick it up and make a new one which will take another 45minutes or so. We didn't wanted to spend an hour and half waiting for pizza so decided to have the one with wrong toppings. What was worse is that the pizza dough wasn't fully cooked and crust had wet sticky dough inside which was disgusting smelling of raw wet flour. The pizza itself was so salty too. The owner said they were very busy but that should not be an excuse of making uncooked, salty pizza. No matter how busy he was he got his full payment. The attitude of the owner was quite bad in dealing with the mistakes made by his store. Did not properly apologize, didn't offer any amount of store credit, and was just blaming on one of his employees. read more

This place has great pizza!!!! To be fair I haven't experimented a ton with the toppings. The cheese is consistently one of my favorites! It's exactly what you would expect from good quality NYC pizza. Same with the pepperoni it's so high quality! The grandma pizza is amazing if you are wanting a thicker slice. I even got the penne a la vodka pizza slice which was actually really good but I would maybe even prefer that combo separate in general. I did get mushroom once but it wasn't my fav honestly. If you stick to cheese, pepperoni or grandma you honestly cannot go wrong. I am waiting on my order from here as I write this. I seriously love this place and their delivery is so quick. If you order a pizza or sicilian pie it can be a complete mess. Too oily sometimes with the cheese literally drooping off or burnt from being reheated - They don't take pride in their food, its very sloppy and quite frankly they don't respect their repeat customers. Pretty good chicken rolls, Sicilians and regular cheese slices . Chicken parmigiana hero is good too , very filling , huge , heavy sandwich . Spinach pie is meh , way too much onion . Street parking is available . The atmosphere and decor is nothing special but quality is pretty good for the price , friendly service . Seating is available and I believe they also have a "restaurant" setting in the back . We did a take out order of a large pepperoni Grandma pizza, medium chicken parm pizza, can of soda ($1.50), and 6 garlic knots ($1.50 I believe). Garlic knots - skip. Pepperoni Grandma pizza - I had to look up what this was and it explained the pizza as having more sauce/cheese/bread. While it was thicker than a normal pizza, I did not notice more cheese or sauce than average. The chicken parm pizza was the highlight!! I have never had it, and it was bomb! Definitely recommend. At least the one I got was. For a pizza that has "everything" on it, it sure did not taste like it. I was disappointed and will not order it again. 1) Place looks clean. 2) Person who explained (up on me asking) what was on a Airway Special Pizza seemed a bit arrogant and annoyed that I even ask. This place seems like a "no none sense" place where they want you to place your order, give them your money, and get the F-out. Could make some feel a bit weird if you take it the wrong way. 3) Pizza, due to all the items on it, was soggy. Edges were crunchy. Pizza was lacking flavor. 4) Lemonade was good. I usually like it here; however, it always has an odd after taste at the end that I can't put my finger on what it is. Who knows what it could be. In any case, I keep ordering it so it is what it is. 5) Prices are okay. 6) I have had the Calzone. It was good. Over all, I come here once every now and then. So, for a quick meal it is good. We stumbled upon this Amazing pizzeria by the slice! We got three slices each. Grandma, Sicilian, and plain slice. They were all great but my favorite was the Grandma slice. Crust was light and airy and the sauce was sweet, tangy and overall delicious!!! friendly and helpful service. My first NYC pizzeria experience and it couldn't have gone better.
