Extremely disappointed at the fact i visited one of my favorite pizza spots, i walked in and ordered a chicken roll. Not realizing that after i had ordered, i noticed the NYC Health "Grade Pending" which was strategically located at knee height on the side of the door where nobody will see it. Only reason i saw it was because i sat down to wait for my order. At $10.50 for a chicken roll, it can definitely be shared. The dough was soft but lacking a but is salt, chicken was not dry, moist, the extra sauce on the sidewas the money maker, vwey tasty, tangy, slightly chunky, i can see the oregano and feel the depth of flavors. My adviae to manage is to be be transparent with the public. People go in to support local businesses, so just be upfront. Dont be sneaky andhide your grade pending. Let the public make their own decision to whether consume your food or not. You make your consumers more upset by doing what you are doing now. Remember you took the grade, which means you need to care about what happens in the kitchen during production its not just about taking miney in and not caring about cleanliness. The public dis not give you the grade, you guys earned the grade. The chicken roll was good, sauce is great, good size but deceiving practices make for a poor execution which leads to a poor customer experience . Best, cheapest, most consistent pizza in Astoria! I love that they have a no frills mentality and their pizza is consistently delicious. Tiny shop but they are so accomodating and sweet. Over the past several years, I've ordered pizza for delivery and also eaten in their small shop probably 50 times. My favorites are the Hawaiian, the Chicken and Ranch, and the Margherita. Their pizza is honestly pretty bad, the crust is airy and bready with no chew, and they charge 5.75 for a topping slice. Avoid.

The pasta pizza is one of my fav types of pizza, but it's not the best one I had. They got lots of options. It's open late, so it's a great drunk spot. The onion rings are ok and would pass next time, but the fries were pretty good but not the best, but it's good quality for the price. The staff is very friendly and they offer delivery from this location. Love the open space inside makes it easy to be able to check out the different pizzas you can order. Their Chicken Bacon Ranch Pizza is to die for, and they have great rolls & calzones. Not to mention the awesome pasta options. Very local, opened for 15+ years to my knowledge. This is my girlfriend and I'd go to Italian spot in Astoria. We each order the same thing every single time that's how good it is. We order spaghetti and meatballs, penne alla vodka, and fried calamari, and each time it comes steaming hot and tastes amazing. The fried calamari is crispy, but not burnt, spaghetti has homemade tomato sauce and is cooked perfectly. The penne alla vodka has nice fresh pasta, and is creamy, delicious, and always hot. THIS IS NOW BLACKLISTED FOR ME. I placed an order for delivery here last night and wanted to share my negative experience to save others from this. I placed my order at 6:51pm, order confirmed at 7:00pm. Got a call at 8:18pm saying that the delivery guy didn't have a bike lock and wanted me to come downstairs to get the order. I live on the top floor of a 7 floor building so it wasn't convenient for me to not only wait 90 minutes for delivery and NOT have the food delivered to my door. If the food had been good it would have saved the whole experience. But when we got our pizza, it was squished and not even warm. Parts were cold and looked like it had been reheated. Not even fresh. If I had read the reviews from delivery.com, most of the above had similar experiences. I will definitely not be ordering from here again. read more

New to the area, great pizza place me and my girlfriend loved it

First thing you notice is the poor condition and dirtiness of the facility. Tables are crowded in the back, and each one is littered with plates, napkins or crumbs. There are no fountain drinks. No ice. There isn't any music and nothing to look at as you wait for your food. The bread is encrusted in garlic and olive oil. It was hot and pretty tasty. The salad was average. Their special dressing is okay but isn't really a standout. The eggplant Parmesan was pretty awful. It was soggy and drenched in a tomato sauce that was too sweet and without much seasoning. The cashier was pretty rude to the delivery driver. He asked him condescendingly if he had two eyes. "Can you read?" He shouted. I hope he can read this review. Gino's sucks. read more

I haven't reviewed this place in about 8 months, but since then I've visited numerous times. I apologize for the gap in coverage. Visit N: I came here with a modest hunger, hoping to get a single slice. It was a little late and the selection was diminished. They didn't have any marinara (Grandpa's slice) or buffalo chicken. I felt that same pang of secret happiness from months before that led me to branch out from buffalo chicken into marinara in the first place. On visit N, I decided try something completely new: a pepperoni wheel. This is a rolled up wheel of dough, pepperoni, and mozzarella. A simple idea, but with important implications for the cheese-dough interface. Because of the shape, a small amount of the cheese actually leaks through to the bottom of the wheel, baking into crispy brown, creating a pizza texture I believe I have experienced before, but never in this controlled of a way. Visit N+1: Came here and had another pepperoni wheel as well as a spinach one. The spinach version is also very good. I asked for hot sauce which they happily supplied. The sauce adds the necessary moisture and completes the equation for sublimeness. Visit N+2: The serving woman told me the slice was buffalo and I ordered it to go. When I got home, I found out it was actually chicken vodka, a vastly inferior slice. Visit N+3: I arrived near closing time and was faced with a complete lack of buffalo chicken, marinara, and pepperoni/spinach wheels. I got something new- a Sicilian style cheese slice with a carbuncle of extra sauce bursting out the center. Very good. To round out the meal, I also got a Jamaican beef patty. I had tried one of these several months back but had forgotten what it was like. The verdict: disappointing. The brown slop inside doesn't taste very good and looks especially unappetizing when it flops out onto your plate. Will avoid these in the future. read more

Ordered the 14" baked ziti pizza. It had the perfect amount of pasta so that the crust did not fall when picking up the slice. The fresh ricotta was a great touch. Slices were wider than normal. Stay away from this place - they lie and block your number when you try to call back. We ordered at 7pm and were told our pizza would take 30 minutes to arrive. We called at 8 and they said the pizza was in the oven and would be out soon. We called at 8.30 and had to use a different phone as the phone we used the first time couldn't get through. When we finally got them on the phone they said the delivery man had left a few minutes ago. At almost 9, we called again, having to use a THIRD PHONE NUMBER, and they said that the delivery man had gotten lost, wasn't answering his phone, and so they were now making our order... again. We went in to get a large pie and a cheeseburger deluxe and when the cook heard that I ordered a cheeseburger he threw his arms up like it was such a bother.
