Hands down the best pizza spot in Astoria! We have been coming here for 20 years! The pizza is bomb! The garlic knots are awesome and it just doesn't get better than this place. I stopped by for our Valentine's Day pickup dinner last night ... obviously not going out especially since I just had a baby! I paid $31 for 3 pepperoni slices, one slice extra cheese and pepperoni, a chicken slice, 2 orders of garlic knots and an order of zeppoles. It was amazing! They're not cheap on the extra cheese, they make my slices just the way I like them; crispy, and the garlic knots are extra garlicky and not too oily! They have the same staff here. Always pass this place on the way to my gym - decided to have a quick bite with my dad! My dad's been going here for years!! The guy behind the counter was super sweet & hilarious!! We got a chicken souvlaki platter & a rice ball. I love a good rice ball & that is exactly what it was -- I hate when places leave them out for too long & they get oily! I have been going here almost my whole life. I love my friends behind the counter who always talk to me about our days. We have known eachother for so long and it's nice fo see all familiar faces everytime we go. I come here a lot for lunch or dinner. They have a whole back space to eat inside and during the summer time they put chairs outside to enjoy your food. The pizza is good and always fresh. They have one of the best chicken rolls. I usually order pizza from here and it's good. However the quality of the pizza is not always consistent. 2 out 3 times they messed up the order. One time they got the order wrong and sent a different but similar pie. Today we said well done and it's not and very watery. The pie still was delicious or else I would of sent it back. They had a good deal for pizza. We ordered the pizza, garlic knots, soda and buffalo wings. They lost a star because they gave us 1lt instead of 2lt. Eithet way that's better anyway who needs all that soda? I loved that the pizza wasn't too greasy. We got one half feta and one half pineapple. I was a little disappointed because there was barely enough feta on the pie. They definitely could have added more. The garlic knots were not overpowering at all. They were actually pretty big compared to most places I've been too. The buffalo wings with BBQ were made well done. I'm happy it didn't irritate my stomach. The inside of the shop is kept clean. I have lived on the same block as this pizza place for nearly two years and tonight was my first time ordering from them. I ordered a whole pizza for pickup and asked that it be "well done". I do not like soggy pizza crust. I arrived within the ten minute window of when the app said my order would be ready, but it wasn't. I had to wait over fifteen more minutes for my order. I wouldn't have minded if it was exactly what I asked for, but it wasn't. The pizza was not well-done and the minute I picked up a slice out of the box all of the cheese & toppings slid off because the crust was too soggy to hold it together. The taste was delicious, but I literally had to scoop the cheese & toppings back onto the crust with a fork. The place is cute and they offer an assortment of desserts as well as the normal pizza spot fare. I would try them again, perhaps to dine-in because the pizza did taste good. It just seems they do not listen to order instructions when placing the order through an app. Hopefully I'll have better luck next time. read more

I usually get peppers and onions on half and it's a generous portion. Only the artichoke topping is skimpy. It's just leaves. Not halves or quarters. I've even asked for pepperoni on just 1 slice and they do it. I've gotten a salad w grilled chicken many times and ask for the grilled chicken to be packed separately and they do it for me. Also generous portion. And comes with bread. I think they have someone new adding something to the pizza lately cuz I feel it's gotten a little better. Tastier. I think it's the sauce. It's not as bland as it once was. Delivery is fast. But I live close by. The place is clean inside. The pizza crust is a little thick and doughy. I always reheat it when I get it. The white pizza is a let down. Bland. And the sauce is just ok so dipping it doesn't help. The baked ziti - pasta was a little over cooked - but it was just fine. Cheesy and hot. My fiancé and I have lived in Astoria for 8 years and have probably tried every pizza place on Seamless, and Piazza is hands down our favorite pizza. My favorite is the Sicilian pizza (we often add pepperoni) - it's super delicious, flavorful sauce, perfect crust texture and leftovers reheat very well in the air fryer or toaster. Honestly, this place is a sturdy, reliable, workhorse. The pizza is solid and cheap, and they deliver within 20-30 minutes. They have great specials, and it is tasty (non-sweet) NY pizza. Is it Joes? Of course not. It's pretty hard to find that kind of pizza here in Astoria, but it is thin crust pizza that is slightly crispy but still soft with not too much sauce or cheese. I will never take any of these things for granted again. And so it is with great appreciation for all of the above that I write and recommend Piazza Pizza. It is so much more than "a pizza place" - it is in fact, a very very nicely appointed restaurant on any scale. The owner, George, has battled hard through these very tough times in his business to raise the level of his service and the quality of his product. Just last night my friend and I decided to "get out of the house" and dropped in at Piazza on the late side - around nine. No problem. No rush to get us in and out. Not at all. A lovely tall blond waitress went out of her way to make us feel at home and welcome, bringing us several different and fresh sets of glassware (as this is a byob - and thus a great value.) She presented a fantastic sounding list of specials as well. We noticed the large number of staff on hand, and how well trained they all seemed. By the way, the place is spotless, along with the restrooms. We ordered only a pizza, a large (The Gorgonzola - highly recommended.) It is not too large, but huge in flavor! We savored every bite. Yes, it is that good. George was pleased that we enjoyed ourselves and took time to explain the fresh ingredients that he uses. A bonus. This was a bargain, but we were so pleased at all the little things that we doubled the bill with our gratuity. We resolved to come back - often. This is a great place that hits all the notes! I love piazzas ! I really enjoy their food & how they literally make anything and more that's on the menu. As long as your ask for it ! What I love most about this place is their staff, those guys are so awesome. They have phenomenal customer service at piazzas pizza, that's what keeps me coming back really. Killer scrumptious slice joint. Off the beaten path, so never jam-packed. If they have it ready, try the grandma slice. With a Snapple it's only 5 bucks, and a perfect little meal. Buttery foccacia crust with paper thin tomatoes, sliced fresh mozzarella, julienned strips of roasted red peppers, a drizzle of olive oil, all sprinkled with fresh basil leaves. If I could give this place a zero I would. I get a call from the delivery guy telling me he's got a pizza for me, Ive never ordered anything or dined at this place before. I then get an angry call from the counter person at the restaurant telling me that I ordered a pizza, he tells me it's my phone number therefore it was I who ordered it. He insists that nobody can take my number, flawless logic, when there's a high chance someone gave him the wrong phone number or just decided to mess with the restaurant using my number. He sarcastically tells me it's alright and hangs up the phone. I call back to verify just what address they delivered this pizza to, and it's not even my address. Of course I tell this man that it's not right to harass me like that, conversation gets heated and he hangs up the phone. Tried this place for the first time today and it's amazing! Pizza was huge, well flavored, reasonably priced, and basically perfect!!! I ordered a plain cheese pie which was the perfect NY style pizza. I also ordered 2 orders of zeppole which are Italian doughnuts with powdered sugar...SOOO good! The price for the large pizza was $15 and 4 pieces of zeppole are $1.50 I highly recommend this place! Where's the sauce? This was some of the driest pizza I've ever had. The crust was thin and crisp. The slice itself was large in portion size. There was a decent amount of cheese but the sauce was missing in action. Based on that I opted not to try any of the other food. Pizza has three main components; dough, sauce, and cheese. If you're missing one of those components It makes for an unbalanced slice. We ended up going to another pizzeria down the block that knew the deal. There must the SAUCE! Overall it's one of the larger more spacious pizzeria's in the area. There are several tables where you can sit and it has more of a restaurant feel than the small places that only have a few booths or places that are just walk in and take out style. There is also a bathroom for customers which is a plus because some other nearby pizzeria's can't accommodate. If you have a larger group, or a family with kids this would be a more convenient choice in terms of the location and space but it's definitely not the best pizzeria in the area. read more

Being lucky enough to live in Astoria, I am at no shortage of great places to eat. Pizza is plentiful, with establishments ranging from midtown-dollar-esque slices to high end artisanal pies. Piazza is somewhere in between. They do a very respectable slice of cheese, but also have a few more adventurous selections on the counter to try. I agree with many here that their buffalo chicken pizza is delicous, and the chicken and broccoli is quite good as well. If you're looking for change-your-life pizza heaven, this isn't it. Astoria's pizza scene is a difficult one for me to navigate. The pies in this 'hood are either extremely oily with floppy crust or delicious , but over priced gourmet pies. Sometimes a girl just wants a comfortable and delicious pie and nothing more. Piazza's Sicilian pie is where it's at people!!!! With deep, golden crust, and not overly greasy their Sicilian pie is a win. I prefer this pizza to the traditional NYC rounds I have tasted and it holds up during delivery! You can expect to find your pie intact and not jumbled against the bottom of the box. I would recommend ordering it with extra sauce though, the crust is over powering otherwise. This is my go-to pizza and pasta place for delivery in Astoria. It always arrives super fast and hot! Probably the best pizza I've found in Astoria. The large pizza is HUGE, while the small pizza is big enough to fill two! The buffalo wings are always good, never soggy, always crispy and delicious, The pastas are also great. The Fettuccinni Alfredo is phenomenal, especially when you add to it. Chicken or shrimp are great in it, but you have to add vegetables. It comes with broccoli, mushrooms, and asparagus... Two stars is a bit generous....and only because delivery was quick, the prices are cheap-ish, now I know where to get Taco Bell-style food near me, and they may have other items which are decent. Howsomever, this is an encyclopedia level of "You get what you pay for." Though, with the pesto dish, rip off. Order bolognese (with fettuccini substitution), and linguini pesto (add chicken and veggies). They made the substitution. But both pastas were beyond overcooked, as in fell apart when trying to transfer from the delivery container into a bowl. Near mush consistency when eaten. Bolognese was loaded with liquid smoke, and tasted just as fake. Pesto was fine, but vegetables are frozen green bean/corn blend from a bag (possible from a can...couldn't tell...and had to hunt to find a few little mini nubs of chicken (honestly, could hardly find any). Really not sure either can stand up to being reheated for lunches (as they were intended to be). Might be a complete throw away. Maybe the pizza is decent. Forgot to mention I ordered up a steak quesadilla. There was what I presume to have been steak....cheese....and two tortillas. Taste just like taco bell...but "homemade"? Delivery. Arrived 10 minutes or so outside the estimated range. Cheese is lukewarm and no longer melty, and sauce is actually cold to the touch. Dry and stiff slice (see pic), and there's a weird veggie taste to the sauce. The mozzarella sticks unfortunately apear to be the generic, mass-produced, tiny frozen ones - zero stretch to the mozzarella and no discernable taste. I've never understood why nearly every single pizzeria uses this same disgraceful product instead of making their mozz sticks from scratch - they take minimal effort/ingredients and the spike in quality from frozen to housemade is very noticeable. I'm guessing the big cheese distributors just throw them in with the orders. Giving 2 stars instead of 1 in case this was a fluke. read more
