    Vodka Chicken Parm
    Sam O.

From the home made vodka sauce to the fresh breaded chicken cutlet and house made semolina sourdough this is easily one of the best chicken parm sandwiches I've ever had! The drizzle of pesto on top takes it to the next level. It's well priced at $15 for the full sandwich however from pesto to hot peppers even lettuce and tomato was an additional $1-$2 fee which seemed excessive. Hot peppers especially is a condiment that should really come with the meal at a spot like this. Overall great service and great ambiance inside the space!

I ordered the Philly cheesesteak on semolina sourdough and it was fantastic. The bread really sets this sandwich apart--crispy on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside, with a subtle sourdough tang that adds great flavor. The game changer was the sesame seeds that gave just a little nutty flavor but not too overpowering. The steak was tender, well-seasoned, and packed generously, with perfectly melted cheese in every bite. A unique and delicious take on a classic cheesesteak. I'd absolutely order this again. Pictures don't show how amazing the sandwich is so definitely stop by & try it!

We got the Philly cheesesteak and fries. Did not disappoint!! Love that everything is cooked in tallow and is seed oil free. The ingredients are top tier and well sourced and it shows in the quality of the food. Delicious cheesesteak. Fries were great and abundant.

Totally unhygienic Italian sandwich shop. Just when I was leaving an employee stepped out from behind the counter and decided to hug a pet dog As for the sandwiches, they were rather on the heavy side with too many unhealthy and fattening ingredients. I will not be back!

Saw the IG hype and went to try it out. They had a line so that's a good sign. They are known for the in house freshly baked bread and the fries cooked in beef tallow. We ordered the Philly cheesesteak, chicken parm with vodka and pesto sauce and the beef tallow fries. Parking sucked so ordered it and ate it right in the car in front the place. No time wasted! The bread was good but teeth beware because that exterior had a tough crunch. The philly and chicken parm were good but nothing that really made it stand out. Enjoyed that fresh bread and wouldn't mind having that straight with some good buttah! The fries were super skinny almost like little match sticks. The beef tallow flavor was good and maybe the flavor could stick better if the fries were slightly bigger. All in all a good spot.

The eggplant parm sandwich (to go)

They finally opened!! Well, their soft opening and we were able to go in and order something. Although, when we got there it was around 6 ish pm so we were told they ran out of fries, their chicken parm sandwich, their philly sandwhich and more. This didn't deter us , we decided to go with their eggplant parm and meatball sandwich. Once we ordered we just waited like everyone else did. The staff member would call your name once your order has been filled. We saw how busy they were but were able to be very friendly and greeted people as they came in. Once we got our orders we went to our apt (so close by) and opened these bad boys! We saw how the filling was almost falling out of the sandwich but they were strong enough to not break apart. Btw - they make their own bread so it makes sense that they ensure that their bread can handle whatever fillings will be going in between the sandwiches. Anyways - the eggplant parm first - Amazing! There weren't huge chucks where you'll be pulling them out as you take a bite. They were made in such as way that every time you bite into it, you get all the filling in one bite and in every bite. No slipping and sliding. For the meatballs - they are HUGE! in the bread. They were also amazing and while I personally love both, I think I like the meatball more. It was seasoned well, not salty and the meat is tender Also - the meatballs are all beef! I asked! My bf said the bread hurts his teeth but he could just have sensitive and weak teeth lol cause for me I thought it was fine! Only giving it a 4 stars right now cause I'm waiting to try their chicken parm and philly. They are legit right across from where I live so I'm excited for their offical opening. Oh, for one sandwich it's about $17 and while at first you might think it's a lot. Keep in mind, they make their own sourdough bread! That machine cost money! But one sandwich deff will get you full so I think it's worth it! Plus if you get the combo (if available) it'll be like 21 or 22 dollars - not too bad in these day and age. This place for sure is worth going to.

    Philly Cheesesteak Combo (~$23)
    Aya E.

Ordered: Philly Cheesesteak Combo (~$23): semolina sourdough sandwich with sliced ribeye, cooper cheese, sautéed onions; with French fries and canned soda (Coke Zero) Aya's take: From the teams behind Somedays Bakery and Chip City comes Massi's Sandwiches! They recently opened in Astoria and the menu is pretty simple. They specialize in Italian sandwiches made on their housemade semolina sourdough bread, and I was excited to give it a try! They weren't busy at all yet my order took ~15 minutes to be ready. I wouldn't have minded but the fries were barely warm and the Philly cheesesteak was no longer warm after finishing the first half. The sliced ribeye and cooper cheese are a great combination and the sautéed onions really cuts through a lot of the fat and greasiness. I'm a big fan of the semolina sourdough but I could tell it wasn't the freshest; it was slightly hard and chewy. I love that the French fries are fried in beef tallow but again, I wish they were hot & fresh! They got quite stale and lacked flavor after a while. It's a good one-time try for me; I don't know if I'd go out of my way to come back.

    Meatball Sub
    Anthony R.

We came here at around 5:45pm for their soft opening and we got the meatball sub and the Italian deli sub. We did want to try the chicks chicken parm and the fries but so much of their inventory had been sold out at that point. If anyone does get them please tell me how they are. The sandwiches on sight looked beautiful; however when peeling the aluminum foil off it's really hard not to get food on your hands - the meatballs are moist and saucy so it makes it pretty messy, but overall each bite out of the toasted bread was very good! I actually liked the Italian deli sub a lot but the majority of my group loved the meatball sub. I would definitely come back here to try out the earlier sold out items along with some extra napkins.

Most Asian…read morerestaurants in this neighborhood are fancy sit-downs, so it was exciting to see a quick, casual stop for Asian "finger food" (for a lack of better word) within my vicinity. Joju specializes in modern Vietnamese cuisine, serving meals like bahn mi, loaded fries, and rice meals. The menu recently added soy garlic wings, and since I am a fiend for Asian-style fried chicken, I of course had to have it. While all of the beverages looked tempting, especially their non-alcoholic soju refreshers, I needed caffeine to offset the afternoon slump that was about to follow, so I ordered a Vietnamese coffee. The wings were huge! It was notably crunchy, saucy, and juicy. There was a decent skin to meat ratio, (I so hate biting into a mouthful of breading), and the meal came out piping hot. It was clear the chicken had been fried per order. Those who know me know that I can't live without rice and would eat it with almost any meal, including fried chicken, so I did request it on the side, although the wings don't come with it. The man who took my order did me a solid and served it with mine, anyway. Good lad! I've been wanting to try Vietnamese coffee for a while now, and it was everything I imagined it would be. Sweet with a bitter backend - but not too bitter! I'm still new to coffee, and I pucker up at anything too intense. This was just right. My meal at Joju satisfied me, mind, body, and soul. I hope it is here to stay, and I hope that a shop like this is a catalyst for other quick Asian food stops to follow. Korean and Filipino restaurants - I'll be waiting!

There are a few locations, but I decided to visit this one because it was the most convenient for getting to and from home. I got there around 7:00 PM, which felt a little close to closing time since Google said they close at 9:00 PM, but it wasn't busy at all. In fact, I was only the third customer to place an order. I ordered the La Summer sandwich and added pesto. After sitting down and taking my first bite, I immediately understood the hype. Without a doubt, this is one of the best sandwiches I've had in a very long time. I'm not even a huge sandwich person when it comes to subs and deli meats, but everything tasted incredibly fresh. The ingredients paired together perfectly, and you could still taste each one individually. The only thing I'd change next time is the meat. I had no idea prosciutto was a type of ham, but honestly, it didn't even taste like ham to me. It was sliced paper-thin, slightly salty, and worked surprisingly well with everything else. Next time, though, I'll probably add salami just to see how it compares. Overall, this sandwich was a solid 10/10, and I will absolutely be back--whether it's to try a different sandwich or, if we're being honest, order the exact same one again with salami added. I will say it's on the expensive side, but that's New York City for you. Apparently, all of the ingredients are flown in from Italy. After tax and tip, I paid a whopping $28 for a single sandwich. That said, it was incredibly filling and definitely kept me satisfied. The workers were also really nice and accommodating, and the indoor seating was beautiful. The atmosphere felt like a fancy Italian café, complete with couches and artwork throughout the space.
