Now I did do as the baker suggested and let it get to room temperature in 100° weather on the ride home. I think that it pretty much came up to room temperature. The frosting was soft, but it had a horrible taste, and the cupcake itself not good at all. I guess I just should've walked out when I saw the cases were more than half empty. That's my fault but I wasted five dollars on a regular size cupcake with a dry cake and the frosting that tasted like it had been in the refrigerator for three weeks. I don't think I'll return.

We ordered half a pound of the sea salt caramel cake cookies and a half assortment of the M&M and Reese's Pieces butter cookies. I was able to check in here on Yelp and snagged four free chocolate chip cookies. When we went to checkout they said we got to spin a wheel (honestly can't remember the purchase threshold) but I spun and got a free cupcake. I opted for the Boston Cream cupcake. We have had all of the other items before but I was extremely excited to try the cupcake and had it with lunch. The cake was so soft and spongy and the chocolate ganache topping was so rich and decadent balancing the cream filling. We learned that the inspo pic she found on Pinterest was AI generated and the lovely lady at the front helped us figure out a cake design that worked with our budget and matched her aesthetic. Last year I ran out of cake because I didn't know how to cut a two-layer cake, so this year the cake was in separate layers, with a cardboard layer in between which was an incredible help to me.
