100% Authentic review -- real customer here .... and Let's start by saying that I cannot recall the last time I was able to leave a 5 star review for a nail salon. Emma, the owner, is extremely talented. She delivers on what she says she can do in terms of quality. I am very hard on my nails, and for the past 2 years, I have consistently dealt with broken or lifting nails within 7-10 days of a fill (so frustrating). During my first visit, Emma and her team explained that they use superior products/technique that would provide more longevity to my fill. I had heard this countless times from techs at different spas, so initially I disregarded the claim. Her assurances were legitimate though -- I CANNOT believe how well my nails last. Over 3 weeks and they still look gorgeous without lifting. In the photo I shared, she recreated the exact design I'd asked for, and the pic was taken 17 days later, still looking flawless. I can easily go 3-4 weeks before a fill and the nails hold up. The teams speaks perfect English, at least Emma and the gentlemen who answers the phones. This helps so much in terms of understanding client goals and expectations. They are quick, Courteous, and very professional. I am a HARD customer to make happy, as for 2 years I've dealt with one disappointment after another despite different locations/techs, meanwhile paying higher and higher prices for quality that continues to diminish. I am thrilled with this spa, and now drive 30 minutes to see Emma. I know the location is relatively new, and I just hope that as they pick up, the quality standards are maintained. read more

I usually go to a place in Port Charlotte but I broke a nail today and decided to try this place that is very close to my house. I was a little nervous because there were a few bad reviews from years ago but the business owner responded to them and said it was under new ownership, so I decided to try. And I'm so glad I did. Emma is one of the new owners and she did a beautiful job on my nails. She was smiley and kind to everyone who walked in. Her husband was also very nice and helped Emma manage the customers any way he could by removing old nail polish, answering the phones or providing conversation with the clients while they got their nails done. I spent $100 at AJ Nails and Spa expecting quality service, but within a week, the gel polish started chipping. It was embarrassing. I called to explain I couldn't come in right away due to work. When I returned, they told me "I was past their 7-day policy and I was "like" 10 days later" and only fixed the most visibly chipped nails(3). I explained my concern that other nails were also starting to peel, but they refused to fix them. I didn't come there to cause a scene--I just wanted my nails fixed. Instead, I was made to feel like I was trying to get something for free. I felt dismissed and uncomfortable. Now my manicure looks uneven, and it's embarrassing at work where people see my nails all day and ask where I got them done. I was really hoping for a good experience and decent service, but unfortunately, I didn't receive either. It's frustrating to feel like I wasted my hard-earned money, and after how I was treated, I just don't feel comfortable returning. read more

Even though they were bearably friendly, the nails I walked away with were horribly filed. They weren't even filed to a point that made them seem like they were filed. When I walked in I saw VERY HIGH pricing, but did not see how low their quality was. When I got my manie/pettie they were rude and would not let me turn on my vibrating chair. I was with my little cousin for her Christmas present and she accidently wiped part of the nail polish off. The lady there yelled and told me I hade to pay and extra 5 dollars for her to redo it. She threw the nail polish in my lap and told me too do it myself and walked away if I was not going to pay the 5 dollars. I had to get a man to do it and she wanted a 15% tip. Some of my nails are only painted 3/4 of my nails. She really rushed on my 4 line design and it looks like a 4 year old did my nails. I paid 50$ for the horrible job. I will never be going back there even for a children's nails it was a horrible experience. read more

I had been going to Crystal (owner) at AJ Nails for over 3 years and it was the best. I went in one day to see about getting a gel fill (always $20) and I found the whole place changed around and a different owner. He took me right away and did a very good job on my nails BUT!! when I got the bill, it was $5 MORE and when I asked him why the extra charge, he said because my nails were long, not that it should have made a difference but they weren't. I told him I wasn't paying it and he said OK, I will take it off THIS time but know that NEXT time, it will be $25. I told him there would not be a next time and have not been back since. I wish I knew where Crystal went because I would gladly follow her. :( read more

Two weeks ago I got a pedicure with my sister and mom as I've done in the past without a problem. No more. I have a spot on each side of my heel that became deep, sore wounds which are still healing. The treatment was very rough. The technician applied a stinging topical solution. No apology, not a word, no explanation. Corners were cut off several nails leaving one foot with a normal straight cut across and the other foot with diagonal edges on the nails. It was a horrible experience then and for the following two weeks as it just got worse before it began to heal. When I asked the manager for an adjustment or a refund he denied me and suggested my feet were sensitive. Not so. He said the techs all had at least ten years experience. I doubt that. He said accidents happen. Once is an accident, twice is carelessness. I won't be going back and I suggest you do the same. read more

I asked for a facial, what I got for 60.00 dollars was just a bunch of rubbing of creams. No cleaning of black heads. When I complained at check out I was told I didn't have any. I got home and I cleaned out the 15 that I could see. No steaming no magnifying glass and no looking thru a very well lighted room. People seem nice except the lying about no blackheads. I would not recommend this place ever. I called to complain again and all I got was a sorry no offer to fix the situation so beware not honest or customer service ordinated. read more

This is absolutely the WORST nail salon I have ever been in. Employees NOT friendly at all. My experience today helped me make the decision to NEVER go there again and to let others know to BEWARE if they choose to go there. The problem today started when I asked them to change the channel on the TV (I and my daughter were the only customers in the salon at the time). They handed me a remote that did not work, so when I handed it back to them I just asked them to turn the TV off and the employee began to yell at me telling me that the other customers wanted it on and she went on a yelling tirade that lasted several minutes.....but there was no one in the salon but me and my daughter at the time. She continued to yell, in Chinese so I could not understand her. I asked who was the manager and she said "we all are". I asked for the owner's name and all 3 employees refused to give it to me. I will find out who the owner is, it pays to be an attorney, and I will report this to the owner but my guess is the owner feels just like them and doesn't give a hoot about the customer. They just lost 2 customers in one swoop today and I will do all in my power to let others know about this place so they can make their own decision not to go to this AWFUL place. read more
