What a bad experience! I came with my daughter and granddaughter and we wanted to be pampered and it literally was the worst experience we ever had. I honestly really liked this place, I just live too far away to come here anymore, and as much as I like them, I don't think they're worth the 40 min drive it would take me... that probably sounds pretty confusing, but this place is good for the price, but not outstanding. I've had good and mediocre services here as well as an excellent service that had me going back for as long as I lived near their salon. The customer service is ok, I wouldn't say good or bad, just neutral (meaning they aren't kind or rude). One thing I really liked about this place is they have punch cards for the amount of money you spend each time to eventually get ten dollars off... I'm kind of sad about that because I had gotten really close to getting the ten dollars off when I moved, but like I said, not worth a 40 min drive. I gave four stars instead of three because I have had an excellent service before here and I think the manager tries his best to keep the place good enough to bring people back. I've been coming here since moving to Sarasota 9 months ago! At first I would go to Jennifer who does an amazing job at acrylic nails and pedicures and then I started to go to Tony when I switched to dip powder on my natural nails to keep them short. Jennifer and Tony are very detail oriented and my nails always last 3-4 weeks without chipping or breaking off. The prices are reasonable and I can't recommend those two enough. It's worth the drive for me! I also really appreciate the fact that they don't play any kind of radio music. It's very relaxing and their tvs always display some cooking networks so it's pretty entertaining. read more

I used to have a good experience at this location, but went in this time and asked for a gel mani & gel Pedi. They needed to remove my existing gel and acrylics . They gave me a price and then changed it three -four times while I was sitting in the chair. They were laughing and talking to each other while performing the service and at the end of each laugh, it was a price change. I finally just asked them to use regular nail polish and forget the nails. I had no problem with the price, but the communication, constant change and rudeness. Do yourself a favor and go to Best Nails on Fruitville. They've got the best customer service around and it's a much happier environment. read more

I went to A J Nails for pink/white Shellac on the day of my wedding. I was told they were using Shellac when actually they used another gel polish with Shellac. Unfortunately, the knock-off gel polish ruined my nails when it needed to be removed. The nail technician at a REPUTABLE place soaked them as you are supposed to and they are supposed to buff right off. No, they didn't. She spent quite awhile filing off the gel polish which made my nails quite thin and flimsy when they have always been very strong. A J Nails ruined the health of my nails by falsely advertising that they use Shellac. If this had not been my first time getting Shellac, maybe I would have noticed the bottles on the table were not all that brand. The take home message is - Do NOT go here if you want name brand Shellac. The gel polish they use is difficult to remove and will ruin your nails until they grow out. They are also overpriced compared to nail salons that actually use the Shellac brand. read more

Overpriced & awful! I came here for "Nexgen Nails," which apparently was bought by the current owner. The technicians may be wearing masks, but nothing else in this place is clean nor sanitary. I was rushed in and out and the entire experience was unprofessional and underwhelming. A nice, but completely incompetent man did my pedicure. My nails were cut, but not filed and are jagged. After the dreadful attempt at polishing my nails, I was rushed out of my chair (although there were many empty stations), and told to place my feet under the fan to dry. Then, after very little time had passed, I was told my nails were dry. A few hours later, I actually inspected my toes. Most of the polish was off, and there were spots on my nails that the polish never touched in the first place. Also, $28 for a basic pedicure is too much, but for an unacceptable one, it's disgusting! During this time, it would have been nice to see someone wiping chairs and nail tools with disinfectant, but nothing was attended to!!! read more

I went here 3 times. Got charged 3 different times for the exact thing everytime. An acrylic fill with gel nail polish. And quoted a different price over the phone when I call. When I said something the 3rd time. He didnt seem to care. Started to Debate with me and not try to keep me as a customer. 3rd time I sat in someone's seat and got a trim on my acrylic woman couldnt even shape my nails evenly or almond shape how I had them when I sat down. They even argued with me that's was my it was my fault for "washing my hands too much" and that I need to pay $50 over again to get my nails done. So I got up and walked out. Horrible customer service and they talked amongst themselves and made me feel like I was at fault and was trying to get a freebie. read more

Terrible experience, first time there and I was rushed to pick a color, I was getting a gel polish manicure and she did my nails in 10 minutes, she was very fast and did terrible job... didn't paint all the way down to the cuticle and didn't paint the whole nail there was spots she didn't even paint.... and then on top of all that like I said it was my first time there and I didn't know it was cash only tips so when I went to fill it out on the receipt and she goes "oh we only take cash tips but there's an ATM in winndixie next door" which I thought was extremely rude..... just overall terrible experience and I will never go back! read more

Went in to have my acrylic nails removed. What a nightmare. The male nail tech did a horrible job. He removed part of one nail down to the skin and I left the shop with a bandage on that nail. He attempted to remove the acrylics by pulling them off instead of soaking. He eventually soaked them for about 10 minutes which wasn't near long enough. You can still see the acrylic in some places on a few nails. I wouldn't recommend this shop if my life depended on it. Bad news. read more
