Located at the old Arctic Roadrunner place near Fireweed, this place was recommended to me. I stopped in a little after lunchtime and met delightful Marigold. I ordered Mochiko chicken w/ garlic rice & pancit. It was prepared fresh and quickly available for my takeout. The price was extremely reasonable, a ton of food for under $15. The owner Tino came out and shared with me his journey with restaurants in Anchorage. This lovely Hawaiian themed restaurant was clean, attractive, and big enough to host parties. They even cater! This was not only a personally delightful experience, but when I got home, the food was out of this world and plentiful! I'm telling the world about Ohana's! Definitely recommend to any human being on the planet. The staff is extremely kind and welcoming, as I was entering the restaurant and ordering, I could really feel the passion they have for their business, not just from the eye-pleasing interior, but also from the mouth-watering food they have. Their menu has a lot of variety, choosing from Filipino food, Hawaiian food, or even a fusion of both! I tried the Mochiko Chicken w/ rice and mac salad as well as the Halo-Halo from the Filipino menu and it was absolutely perfect and very fulfilling for the price! The portions are huge and extremely well valued, I couldn't even finish the Mochiko Chicken meal in one sitting. The quality and taste of the food is phenomenal. The Mochiko Chicken was savory and the Halo-Halo was perfectly sweet. The restaurant made me feel like I was home and comfortable and the staff gave big smiles, the bathroom was even cleaner than any restaurant I've been to. (no exaggerations at all was said). Was in Alaska for 9 days and we stopped here to get Hawaiian local food. I gotta say this was the best food we had all trip. Everyone was impressed how the laulau was better than most at home in Hawaii. Filipino food was on point as well. Met the owners and he was so nice. I saw a TikTok & the next day stopped by for lunch. Soooo good. Very affordable. A family 5 ate for $70. The $5 Friday bowl was great. The man running the counter (I'm guessing owner) was very friendly, & gave us a rundown of the menu. Service was excellent. read more

Ordered the sisig and 1/4 lb lechon kawali on doordash it's SO good! Our go-to favorites at AJ's are the lechon kawali plate, bento box and lumpia plate. Hands down our favorite Filipino food spot! read more

1st time checking out this little hide away spot and we were absolutely delighted!!! MG had amazing customer service- came out fast!! and the food was fulfilling literally and figuratively!! Crab wontons were actually filled, pork lumpia had amazing flavor with their mae ploy on the side. We were blown away by our kalbi beef and chicken katsu curry entrees with pancit. Bursting with flavor and may I reiterate hefty plates! This place hit every mark & is absolutely worth your dollar! $$$ we will most definitely be visiting again soon! :) read more

Found this place on a walk around town. I ordered the lumpia plate from the Hawaiian menu. There is a Hawaiian, Filipino, and fusion, as well as breakfast all day menu. My plate included 7 pork lumpia and 2 sides. I chose and received a generous helping of Mac salad and pancit (pancit had cabbage and bean sprouts). It was cooked to order and ready in 10 minutes. The owners and family are so gracious and kind. The restaurant ambiance is pleasing, well kept, and clean. This is tucked away off Arctic Blvd and about 25th ave, don't miss it. The food was outstanding. Absolutely delicious with perfect portions for the price and the service was a delight. The lumpia specifically made me so happy. I took it to go on a walk home on a cold winter night and it was still steaming hot 15 minutes later when I tore the bag open. What a gem. I'll be back to try more of my favorites. read more

Aj's has replaced Jeepney. This review is for their Arctic road location. I visited on a busy Friday lunch hour, when they were also soft opening their $25/pp lunch buffet. Their interior is comfortable, but seating is extremely limited. We opted to order to go instead. Service was friendly and the wait for our order wasn't long. Initially, one of our orders was missing and we needed to call from home to make arrangements. Aj's was professional and had a replacement plate waiting for us. In total, we ordered a lechon plate, 2 mochiko chicken plates, lumpia, few Hawaiian sun drinks, and an ube milk. Portions were great. We loved everything with the exception of, the mochiko chicken that was fatty/chewy. Mochiko chicken I've experienced prior, is usually closer to the consistency of popcorn chicken. Sadly, most of our mochiko chicken was wasted. We plan to return to try their other menu items. read more

I was so disappointed with this meal. I am craving Filipino food particularly longsilog. I ordered it as a takeout. The lady even asked me if I want a garlic longganisa or sweet. I said sweet. Went home and was so excited to try. The longganisa is not the typical reddish color and the meat was so ground up that the texture was off like eating a hardened pate. It was also sour to taste. First off, exceptional customers service from the cashier/waitress up front. Noticing my to go order was delayed heavily for a reason, she refunded the order and still included the Khalua Pork plate for free. I ordered a spicy mochiko chicken with Mac/garlic rice. The chicken is the right amount of sweet, spicy, and garlicky. The kalua pork bowl came with garlic rice, salsa, egg, and a good amount of pork. Prices are reasonable and portions are above what you'd expect in the Anchorage area. Will continue to come back. read more

We ate here yesterday and ordered liempo plate, it was good however the pancit could be better. It looks pale and the taste is bland. We also ordered spamsilog and longsilog for takeout. They even asked me what kind of longganisa I want, i said sweet. However, I was disappointed when I opened it at home. It was not the regular longganisa I am familiar with, the reddish color with sweet glaze. This was not sweet at all and the texture was weird, it was too ground up it's like eating a liverspread that hardened and there is a sour taste to it. Review on the "Hawaii BBQ Plate." Unfortunately I was dissatisfied again with OJ's Ohana Kitchen again (dubbed Jeepney's on DoorDash and not to be confused with Jeepney on JBER). The most expensive item on the menu but leaves the consumer with the least satisfaction when all said and done. The kalbi had little to no meat, I was basically chewing away on fat. The chicken itself had no flavor or marinade to it whatsoever. I was just eating away at flavourless grilled chicken. I'm disappointed because I was a huge fan of Jeepney when they were over at Old Seward and I eat at the location on JBER all the time. However, I'll never eat at AJ's Ohana Kitchen/Jeepney on Arctic ever again. read more

I order the Katsu curry, this was my first time here at the Arctic location. The chicken was over cooked dry. I had a side container of curry which about forth of a cup but was so water down is had absolutely no flavor and only coved about half the order of chicken. read more

When food got to our table off the bat you could smell that something wasn't right.
