This was my first time at Ajo's. We went with a big group, and they were able to accommodate us in one of their back rooms, which was nice. Our server did a great job taking care of all of us and was super friendly! The food and drinks were good, but the tacos were a little greasy. I love coming here and reviewing this location again. Happy hour is really good & doesn't break the bank. Tacos are satisfyingly good. There were 2 servers, I think one in training. These ladies were wonderful & patient, accommodating 7 of us. Here for happy hour. They weren't incredibly busy but enough people were also in the restaurant as well as their outside patio. we used to LOVE coming to Ajo Al's and for a while we went weekly. then came the pandemic. We went back several times after the pandemic but the turnover was so huge it wasn't the same. The communication between the waitstaff and kitchen seemed non-existent. Sour cream on the side ended up INSIDE the dish and for a while it was just difficult to eat there. Then it got better for a while. Then we went back again today, wife is allergic to lettuce ordered tacos with NO LETTUCE, what she got was Tacos with LETTUCE, but NO CHEESE or TOMATOES (mine had all three as ordered). Server B confirmed NO LETTUCE when taking the order. Order was delivered by a different wait staff member. B did stop by and saw my wife removing all the lettuce from her tacos but said nothing. I've seen him there before, so he's not brand new. B we usually tip 25% but not today. we didn't stiff you, you don't deserve that, but if you want to succeed in life (no matter the gig) learn to listen and pay attention. It matters. So Al's we've been coming to the Glendale location since 2018, but we probably won't be back anytime in the near future. We've given you lots of chances. We will just eat at home next time we want Mexican food. We will miss it, but not if you can't get it right... read more

Ordered the Chicken Salad Carbon via Uber Eats, and it arrived right on time. I've been craving--and enjoying--this salad since the late '90s, and it's always been consistently delicious. Unfortunately, this experience fell short. There was no avocado, the chicken was overcooked--dry and chewy--and the mushrooms and onions were so overdone they were unrecognizable and lacked any real flavor. We have been here a couple times and can get a bit busy. The food is definitely worth the wait. This evening we were able to get seated right away. Zoe was our server and she was amazing. Great Mexican food with great service. The decor was festive for the holiday season. The staff were all very friendly. I visited with friends during happy hour which has some decent deals. The "mini" margarita is actually a decent size for a good price. The free chips and salsa is excellent. It had a good level of spice for me which I enjoyed a lot. For an entree I ordered the carne asada burro. The flavor of the meat and filling was exceptional. The only downside was I thought the tortilla was a little tough at times but was a small issue. I also tried my wife's enchiladas which had a great flavor of the chicken and the enchilada sauce. Overall I would definitely come back again for another meal. read more

I had the worse food at At the Ajo Al's at 90th street on 4/22/26, the food they provide as takeout they should be ashamed of. I order 4 shreded beef tacos had any garnish were lukewarm. I also ordered 2 ala carte beef tamales there exceeding dry and looked like they had been under a warming light for hours, the Husks were dry and the meat was also very dry and un-appetizing. I have been to other locations (shea) and it was much better. I think they should re-evaluate their takeout services at this location to make sure they meet the standards of the quality of food they serve inside the restaurant. read more

We ate here recently and had a great experience. Our visit was during on off time, which turned out to be a great decision. We stopped in between 2-3pm and there were maybe 3 other tables that had people in the whole restaurant, it was very relaxing and enjoyable since we were able to hear each other without a bunch of background noise. The service was great as well, did not have to wait long for our food and he checked on us just the right amount of times. As for the food, I've been here before but I think that this was the best the food has ever been! We started off with a green chilli cheese crisp, which has just the right amount of spice without burning your mouth off. For the main course, I had the quesabirria tacos and they were delicious! Cheesy goodness and was served with a side of rice and beans, it definitely won't take me as long to visit this restaurant again, I recommend them if you're in the mood for good Mexican cuisine! read more

We had not been to Aho Al's in a very long time. We met our daughter and son in law and to granddaughters here for an impromptu get together. We had already eaten , so we didn't order anything. The waitress was very pleasant and helpful. Service was impeccable and always aware of what was needed without smothering you. I got take out of just one of the pizzas for dinner and it is always delicious. Pizza Del Mar is our favorite guilty pleasure. Cheesy and a little spicy. We got the small one this time as last time when we ordered the large it was too much for just two of us. While it tastes great, the price is a little steep - each slice had one shrimp and it costs $24. We ordered online and the timing was accurate. Friendly pick up at the front door. Indoor and outdoor seating had plenty of space. They do offer a specific rewards program within their restaurant which I thought was a bonus. I visited Ajo Al's on a busy weeknight but with their ample parking and substantial interior seating options you'd never know! A couple immediate observations about the restaurant: it's loud and casual. This place can suit all ages and there were several large groups in attendance. For food we ordered the Mexican pizza and the beef chimichanga with red sauce. The Mexican pizza is huge and can easily be split with 3-4 people. The chimichanga was good but not exceptional, the main reason behind the three stars is that the price is high for average mexican food. The food was a little bland but adding the salsa from the complimentary chips and salsa provided a nice flavor. My group had exceptional service and were impressed with how attentive and kind our waiter was. Overall, it's a solid weeknight Mexican food option if you're a local and like the classics. read more

We had Ajo Al's cater our grandson's birthday party on Saturday August 2. The taco cart was a big hit and was small enough to go through our gate and onto our back patio. Andres did his magic on the grill and griddle while Daniel took the lead setting things up for service. Both of these gentlemen were very professional and personable in spite of the 110 degree heat! Started this review sometime ago but never finished. We have gone to Ajo several times over the past years. We like their patio for family events. Plenty of room for the family and for the kids to play without interrupting other guests. Big Big plus. Lately we have met a friend there for lunch as he is close to this location. The servers are always very nice and receptive of our needs. Their food is always good, reasonable priced and served hot. I have not tried any other of their locations. This one is a long way from where we live so we do not go often. I believe anyone would be satisfied with their service and food. read more

Last month I had not too well of an experience here LOL and so the management asked me to come and give them a try again . I did that and this time the experience was phenomenal our server Gabriel had only been there for 3 weeks and he did a fantastic job the food was excellent we had the three Trio dip to Tacos cheese crisp with chilies and a chicken chimichanga .
