    Best breakfast burritos in Phoenix.
    Edgar D.

I'm glad i finally stopped by early in the morning. I've heard so many good things about the breakfast burritos here. And woah, this burrito is over 2lbs. It will feed 2 people easily. Best of all it's delicious. No processed ingredients to be found. They also have a vast menu to be explored at another time. Restaurant has a decent size dining room very clean. Old school decorating and inviting. Service was fast and efficient. It's conveniently next to the freeway for easy access. I will be back for further yummy food. Thank you.

I promised to update my previous review after trying the Carne Asada Burrito. I just finished it, and I am happy to report it is a good representative of the art of burrito making. Pros: Generous amount of carne No gristle, bone, etc. Good guacamole Good Pico de Gallo Carne is cooked and mildly charred Tortilla is thin and warmed Cons: Carne is a bit tough, but not too tough Flavor is acceptable, but the meat needs seasoning It's hard for me to separate my personal tastes for this iconic dish from just simply a well-executed burrito. This one was well-executed, but far from my personal ideal, i.e., the Southern California taco shop style I grew up on. In other words, it's a good burrito by most standards, just not the flavor I know and love. I like Carne Asada that has been marinated in garlic, lime juice, and cilantro, then grilled over an open flame. Many kitchens do that, and then, right before constructing the burrito, they heat the meat on the flattop, then chunk it and pile it into the tortilla. That's my favorite, and it will always be my ultimate standard. Regio's serves a good burrito, but just not my favorite style.

Chorizo, egg, and cheese breakfast burrito, with potatoes. Over 8 inches long!
    Michael R.

I bought a breakfast burrito there today, after visiting for the first time last week. So far, these were easily the best Chorizo, Egg, and Cheese breakfast burritos I've had in AZ. I also added potatoes, and I think they charge $0.80 extra for them. Yeah, it was delicious, hot, and filled with tender egg, melty cheese, and a meaty, nicely spiced chorizo. The flour tortilla is thin and has a little bit of char from the grill. All the right characters, in all the right proportions! I have to point out that I'm really not a big fan of chorizo. Most chorizo I've had tends to be very salty and greasy, and the spicing isn't done right. This is not the case here! The chorizo was excellent, and the burrito has an aroma that tells you "this is gonna be good". Don't miss the salsa bar. It's not large, and both times I went, it had one red salsa (perfect, with the taste of chile and garlic) and two green salsas (a chunkier tomatillo and a smoother jalapeño version, both absolutely delicious!). I used all three on my burritos. The burrito alone (no drinks or sides), plus a 10% tip (optional), comes to $14 and change, which I've found to be the going rate these days. I've paid the same for burritos that weren't even HALF as good, so I didn't mind the price. Plus, this one was thick and over 8 inches long. Generous portion size. I'm going back when I crave a good breakfast burrito, and I'm going to try a carne asada burrito and see if the good news gets even better! Stay tuned...

    Chicken tacos

My first time in Arizona and i had to try some tacos. So i came across this Mexican restaurant. The Mexican chicken tacos were so good! The chicken was super tender and flavorful, and the seasoning had just the right kick. The tortillas were warm and fresh, and I loved the toppings -- especially the lettuce and tomatoes. Everything tasted homemade and authentic. The service was so good they got my food out so fast and the foood was really hot. Now it is righr off the highway next to a smoke shop. Definitely coming back for more!

OMG!!! BEST CHURROS IN THE VALLEY! I just picked up a sausage breakfast burrito and churro for lunch and am so glad I gave Regio's a try. Their churros are hands down the BEST churro I've had in AZ. Most places that sell churros never put enough cinnamon and sugar. Regio's did not disappoint. It was perfecto! My order was made quickly and as fresh as you can get and service was wonderful. I'm so happy I gave Regio's a try! The sausage breakfast burrito was amazing as well.

Big ass breakfast wraps (burritos). Service was quick. Nice salsa bar. Plenty of room in dining room. And I forgot to take a picture of the wrap - great! But it was solid 8/10

Was visiting from out of town and this place seemed to fit what we were looking for- they had good reviews, was a mom/pop shop, and they had French fries. The place was very spacious and all the tables were clean. There were four of us and everyone loved what they ordered. I got their rolled taco plate with a side of fries. Their rolled tacos were hot, fresh, crunchy and full of meat. They did not skimp on the meat in any of our dishes. The beans and rice were flavorful- probably the best beans and rice I've had at a Mexican restaurant. The guy who took our order was polite and answered the questions we had about the menu. You can see who is working in the kitchen, and it happened to be someone who looked like a grandma and a grandpa- maybe that's why the food tasted so good. We don't live anywhere near here, but if we're ever back in Phoenix, we'd def be back.

Chorizo/egg burrito with beans and potatoes

I hate to give this low of a rating but my burrito was just not good. Could it be a one off? Sure. Would I come back and try this place again? I would. Went in early on a Friday morning before work for a breakfast burrito. There was one guy already waiting for his food and a guy came in after to pick up an order. I asked for a chorizo/egg burrito with potato's and beans added. It's a nice hefty burrito. Came with salsas. The problem with my burrito and I'm not sure if this is how they serve them or it was just mine but the chorizo was sooo mushy. Usually when I make it, it's nice and fluffy from the eggs but the texture on this was absolutely disgusting. I honestly only took a few bites and I couldn't take it. I can't even give an answer on the taste of it cause I can't get past the texture. The gentleman that took my order was relatively friendly and service was adequate. I did have to wait a few minutes but that was acceptable. I don't think I'll try another chorizo burrito but I'd be willing to try something else and give this place another chance.

Bean burrito and two taco plate

Googled Mexican restaurants nearby and decided to give this dive a try (very glad we did). Not in the best of areas and also next to a sketchy pawn shop and smoke shop. There was also a homeless man who approached one of the front entrances and I assumed he was going to be panhandling but apparently he knows the owner and he graciously allowed him to get some ice and food. My bean and cheese burrito was very tasty and a good size for around 5 bucks. My friend ordered the two hard shelled taco plate and enjoyed it as well. Dining room is clean but very old. If pleasing aesthetics and decor is your thing, this isn't your place. If you want some good authentic Mexican food, I recommend it (try going during daylight when it is safer though).

Chile relleno wet burrito and carne asada burrito
    Candi L.

Very good food and salsa with a homemade authentic taste. The red sauce on the wet burrito was very good and not overpowering or greasy. The Chile relleno inside was very good and made perfectly. The carne asada burrito was also very good. The flavors of the rice and beans and other things inside were all complimenting each other and went well together.

Bean and cheese burrito so huge it's hard to get a good pic of it all, lol.

I found myself needing a late night snack and driving through south phoenix on my way to Glendale and came across this late night spot. They have a drive thru which was very convenient and the service was quick. Even at 9 o'clock at night the place was busy and lively. When I got my bag with my bean and cheese burrito, the first thing I noticed was how heavy it was, this was a big burrito! Not only was it big but the beans were SO fresh and the cheese pull in every bite was insane. If you're looking for a great bean and cheese burrito and find yourself in the south side. Check out Regios!

I was happy about the little purse hooks on the table (iykyk). The outside area, not so much. It's on the corner of a strip mall, there was some etched graffiti on the outside windows, which made you aware of the area you were in. (That's the reason for the 1 star deduction.) The place is very small! So yes, you WILL want to make a reservation. We went around 3:30 on a Friday and I would say 3/4 of the tables had reserved signs on them starting at 5pm on up. The receptionist was constantly back and forth looking at them and moving them around to make space for walk-ins. I would skip bringing your kids here. I didn't use the restroom so idk if that was nice or not. The food was fantastic! And the portions were big. The price matched the portions and quality in our opinion. It's hard to find quality food that's worth the cost lately. We enjoyed the chips and salsa. And hubby ordered a Mexican coke, and the server brought him a frosty glass for it. Everyone around us looked like they were enjoying their food. Our server was great. He chatted with us for a while when we told him about seeing the place on IG. He was grateful for the customers. But admitted, it's caused an influx of people and the 'regulars' have become annoyed. Which is understandable. We'd definitely come back if we're in the area but probably not drive that far out of our way again.

But I wanted something hearty after donating blood the day before at Phoenix Fan Fusion. I felt like I didn't eat enough to replenish all of the corpuscles I shed, so a hearty late breakfast was in order. I was pleasantly thrilled with my choice of Presidio Cocina Mexicana, as the late breakfast I ordered did not disappoint! I ordered the Chilaquiles, which are essentially breakfast nachos, and you have a choice of protein to add. I chose the birria beef which was perfectly slow-cooked and complemented the corn tortilla chips, cheese, and eggs superbly. I opted for both the red chile and green chile sauce which coated the chips along with a generous layer of tangy cotija cheese. I asked for the eggs scrambled and they cooked them just how I like them... fairly dry and in a thin griddled layer. Add to this mound of well-seasoned goodness a decent dolloping of Tapatio hot sauce (and salt and pepper on the eggs) and I had endless perfect bites of spicy, meaty brekkie goodness that brought delighted yummy sounds from my grateful gullet! This was quality food and the couple at the bar next to me raved about the Menudo, so it has all the hallmarks of authentic Mexican fare. It restored me from borderline anemic to my usual strutting rugged caballero self. "¡Arriba, arriba! ¡Ándale, ándale!"

I think I just found my new favorite Mexican restaurant!…read more The ambience here is charming. It's located in what looks like an old house, painted on the outside in a dark red paint. There are roses hanging from the ceiling, exposed brick, and colored lighting (would you notice more as the sun goes down). The wood ceilings really make this place special. There is a small bar in the corner. Don't forget to look up because there is a little door above with the guardian angel and children painted on it, and a couple of stained glass windows. From the minute we walked in, we were meeting with smiling faces. When you first walk in, you are inside the kitchen or at least right next to it. We started with a couple of drinks - a Corona and a Diablito, a sotol cocktail with lots of pureed mango. A basket of chips and a bowl of Green dip or brought to the table, and we were directed to the salsa bar back near the entrance. The salsa bar is fantastic, with several different kinds of salsa. We grabbed what tasted like a creamy tomatillo salsa, a pineapple salsa, a pico de gallo, and a creamy Serrano salsa. They were all so good that we couldn't say which was our favorite. I know that pineapple salsa just sent me over the moon! For an entree, hubby ordered a Sonoran burrito. He said the burrito was delicious, and kept pointing out how good the guacamole and side was. It wasn't especially big or small. I ordered the fajitas (steak and chicken combo) and the minute they came to the table sizzling, both my husband and I were surprised at how large this portion was. It was served with tortillas (you get your choice of corn or flour), black beans, and rice. The black beans were good - - I suppose they just tasted like black beans. I was surprised at how delicious the rice was because it's white and I expected it just to taste like white rice. But there was a creaminess to it and a flavor that I couldn't put my finger on but that I know was really yummy (butter, maybe? Cheese, maybe?? Idk). Good meat in my fajitas was super tender and the veggies were grilled just right. This was a really common really delicious meal. This place had been on my list for a long time and now that I finally been here, I'm kicking myself for not coming here sooner. The food was fantastic, the prices super reasonable, and it's set in a cozy, romantic setting. This place is going to be on a regular rotation for us!

I ordered the veggie tacos with roasted sweet potatoes (skin on, which was absolutely the right call), pepitas, feta, and all the right toppings. Whoever prepped those sweet potatoes deserves a raise because they were cut into the perfect sized pieces. Every bite had a little sweetness, a little crunch, a little saltiness... it just worked. My dining partner ordered the barbacoa tacos, and I didn't even have to ask if they were good. The involuntary "Mmm..." after the first bite answered that question. Four tacos disappeared in record time, followed by, "I could've eaten two more." That's about as glowing of a review as you're going to get. Now let's talk about these tortillas. Handmade. Corn. Tortillas. Are you kidding me? They're the kind of tortillas that had me question every tortilla I've ever eaten. Soft, fresh, and somehow they manage to steal the spotlight even with everything else on the plate being so good. The chips and guacamole were excellent, too. The chips have to be made in-house and they disappeared at an alarming rate. The salsa that came with them had this smoky, fire-roasted, chipotle flavor that kept me reaching for another chip... and then another... and then suddenly I realized I'd eaten way more chips than I intended. The bottled table salsas deserve their own paragraph because they completely confused me... in the best way. They bring three to the table... a green, a red, and a darker red. I kept tasting them individually thinking, "Okay, these are alright." Then I started mixing them. Game over. On their own, each one was solid. Mixed together? That was the magic. I don't know if that's what they intended or if I accidentally stumbled onto the perfect combination, but from that point on, every taco got the salsa trio treatment. The only tiny hiccup was when we first walked in. We were greeted, asked if we wanted menus, and sat ourselves. We waited for a bit thinking someone would come take our order, only to realize it's actually counter service. Once we figured that out, everything was smooth sailing. Not a big deal at all... just something first-time visitors might want to know. Follow the sign "order here" I also loved the layout. You can actually watch them making the food, which somehow makes the wait even harder because everything smells incredible. Two tacos ended up being the perfect light meal for me. Could I have eaten ten? Absolutely. Those two statements can both be true. Meanwhile, my dining partner polished off four barbacoa tacos and was talking about ordering two more. We only ended up here because another place happened to be closed, and honestly, I'm glad it worked out that way. This ended up being one of those meals we keep talked about on the drive home. Oh and the bathrooms?. I walked in and immediately thought, "Whoa... this is a cool bathroom" The lighting had this pinkish-purple glow that made me feel like I'd accidentally wandered into a trendy lounge instead of a taco shop. I honestly wasn't even sure there was regular lighting in there and I didn't look... because the vibe seemed so intentional. Finally, the music. .. upbeat, dance-worthy, the kind that had me bouncing in my seat while waiting for my food. Between the atmosphere, the lighting, and the music, the whole place had me want to hang out a little longer. Zero regrets. I'll absolutely be back... and next time I'm ordering more tacos.

All of my three daughters and my wife felt so cool with their drinks and loved every sip. Our friends said their food was good and one of which got the coolest pineapple drinks we'd ever scene! Along with amazing chips and salsa we are very excited to come back and get some food as this is a stellar top notch seafood place with amazing drinks people and an all around experience

This review is for the totality of the experience…read more I made an advance reservation at Alma Scottsdale for a mid-sized group of 7 to celebrate a special occasion. Our party arrived right on time for our reservation, but we were not seated until 15 min later because our table was not ready. It took about an additional 15 min to get tap water for the table (there was not enough provided anyways), and to place our orders too another ~20 min. The food did not arrive until 30 min later. For context, we eventually learned that the restaurant was short staffed and the bartender was also operating as our waiter. When the food finally arrived, there was a mix-up on what was delivered. We had checked with the staff who delivered one of the dishes: we ordered the "wild mushroom" side, but what we received did not look quite like it. We asked clarifying questions x2, but were assured, "no, it is the wild mushroom." Turned out, it was the mushroom empanada that was delivered to our table, which we originally did not order. The management did rectify the situation upon the conclusion of the event when we were paying the bill, but to us, it felt a bit accusatory as if we intentionally wanted to cause a huge fuss about the final total, which was absolutely not the case. The food in general was delicious. If this was a more standard dining experience, it would have been 4-5 stars just for the food. The service was very subpar, and really colored the entire experience negatively, therefore the two star review. I understand that staffing shortages happen -- fine. My family has worked in food service as wait staff for 25+ YEARS, so I am empathetic. But for management to ring up our bill and then come confront us in an inflammatory manner, making us feel like we were wrong, on an occasion to celebrate something special, was extremely disappointing.
