This guy Mike P is slithery to say the least. I made the mistake of paying in full after he did initial days work. Totally trusting. Big mistake. 2 months and multiple follow-ups later, I had to call Edison township police department, and then, they called him. Only then did his guys show up and finish one critical part. He never finished the external light fixture, but did charge me in full for that. DO NOT HIRE HIM. Very bad. I also googled him after the fact, and found that he was arrested on some charges. read more

My husband hired this company to install a complete HVAC system in a house that we just bought. Upon some negotiation, they agreed on a price that was obviously too good to be true. Mike and his guys came out almost everyday the first week, and seemed to have been progressing rapidly with their install. On the Friday of the week, we were informed that the job would be finished, and the remainder of the payment was due. I went into the house, and paid the remainder and was told that I would be receiving the receipt via email. That was September 1; today is September 25, and Mike has seemingly disappeared, and we never did get that receipt. The HVAC was not completely installed, as the machines do not produce heat, but we can't get Mike to come back out to finish. Do yourself a favor, and don't get scammed. Unfortunately the promises Mike made were over promised and under delivered. I am still waiting on responses and completion of things he promised, and even has written down. He hasn't followed back up with the Stafford for a permit paperwork. He refuses to come back to the job or contact us back. I made a big mistake on paying in full. I didn't write this review on a whim. I've been following up for months with texts and calls. Lesson learned, but don't want other customers to get burned. I was thinking about posting the full conversations and texts online for customers to see, but I'll hold off those for the BBB complaint. I hope he doesn't screw other contractors and homeowners like I got screwed. Crazy thing is I gave him chance after chance to make things right. I'm only giving 1 Star for his wonderful crew. Had work done by AJR. They rewired and installed hvac system.... they completed most of the work. Had some issues getting work completed... getting reimbursed for the incomplete work... I will keep my review updated in next few months. read more

The service from AJR was outstanding. Mike is one of the friendliest and knowledgeable contractors I have ever met. I recently renovated my home and contracted all the aspects of the construction. The initial electrician that came in and took a great deal of money from us and never finished the job. Mike was very understanding, reassuring and I can't stress it enough... friendly! His guys were both professional as well; clean cut and polite. Our recessed and custom cabinet lighting looks amazing. Our basement was completely re-wired and fully functional. Most importantly; wife and I felt comfortable with Mike and his guys in our home... spent just as much time talking about both of our kids as he did working for us. read more

This guy Mike, was supposed to get my electric going on one of my rental properties... I paid him $300 to certify that the electric at my property was safe for PSE&G to turn on... He was supposed to get a cut card, get the permits needed to so. It is now the middle of June. He's been telling me that he's on it, taking care of it, etc... He keeps telling me that he's sending me the paperwork. Then he told me he had the inspection, the city approved, and now just have to get PSE&G out there... I call PSE&G, they said they have no approval from the city. I called the City, they said they have no record of a cut card being pulled. I'm not out $300, at least 2 months sitting with a vacant property... DON'T hire this guy / company! read more

We've used AJR Mechanical on 3 separate jobs in our home. I found them to be 100% reliable, reasonable and worth every dime. The owner Mike is responsive and was a hands on worker on all of our jobs.
