This was a great shop! I had a different local shop replace a battery in an "heirloom" watch and then it stopped working. They blamed the watch. When I took it to AJR to switch watch bands with another watch, they fixed it! I guess the battery wasn't seated properly. And, changing the watch bands was a big deal, and yet, they somehow did it! Right now, the building where they had been located is fenced off and under renovation or something so THEY ARE NOT LOCATED THERE NOW. And, I don't know where they went. But I hope they come back! read more

I've been dreading finding a watch battery replacement spot in case it's overpriced and doesn't go right. But couldn't wait any longer so stopped by this place. They were super nice and replaced 2 watches' batteries in 20 min for $20/battery. They were super nice. I will return to get my future batteries replaced. They also have a cute dog!! read more

The store is inside the rite aid, turning left from the entrance. I had a watch with a really tight back cover, and they were able to help me remove it to change the battery. It was really quick; I wish I had just gone here instead of trying to DIY. The installation fee was $7; I brought my own battery. read more

The reason I gave it a one star is because this building, where AJR was located is now permanently closed. It's a shame because he did an excellent job when I did take my watches in for battery changes. Not sure if they relocated, but if they did, I will continue to take my watches there for service. I didn't really want to write this review, but I think its necessary for anyone who brings a watch here for repair. This place is great for battery replacements, but not watch work. I brought in a watch and asked them to look at it as it doesn't keep time - only for 20 minutes. Also, the crown was not staying on. When I got the watch back 2 weeks later, they replaced it for 25.00 but didn't even look into it. I paid 75.00 on 4/8 for them to check out the watch.... when it came back three weeks later, there were still black flecks on the face. The counter person cleaned off the flecks and assured me the watch was repaired... It wasn't. I have many watches and didn't wear this one for 2 months, and when I did, it still only keeps time for 20 minutes. I have called them twice left messages that I paid 145.00 +25.00 to get the watch fixed and they never ever tested it. Watch out for this watch repair place. I am not happy and that's why I'm giving AJR 1 star. read more

My GF needed a battery and band holder thingy fixed on her watch. We walked in and they were SUPER BUSY, good sign! Expecting a long wait I went to get a burrito next door. Just 10min ago went to AJR to have battery change on new watch that Was in perfect condition it still had the plastic seal on the back. to my shock a woman started pounding the back of it to lift the back, unable to she continue With metal tools scratching the finish and surface I ask her to stop she handed it back to me offered to buff it out but still full of scratches. I spoke to her manager on phone who told me bring it to her in alameda her name was Anita and could not understand my frustration. This watch was in perfect condition it should me me that scratches it up not the repair place that's located in the CVS stores. Anita I have been calling u but you do not answer the phone. I am willing to travel to alameda CVS to see if u can buff out the deep scratches!!! read more

Bought a new watch on Amazon, needed to get the band adjusted. Called AJR, and a woman answered. Not very friendly, not very informative. I decided to go there anyway, since it's on my way home from work. She told me they close at 6. Left work early, I work until 7, and got there at 5:45. Nobody home! No sign, no notice, nothing. I spoke to the manager of the Rite Aid, which they are inside of, and she had no clue why they weren't there. I could understand if there's an emergency, but it wasn't. Just lazy people wanting to get home early. I was told they don't do much business anyway. I went to another shop the next day, got the band adjusted (for $5, not $10 like AJR quoted). I will never go to AJR, or the Rite Aid again. Not recommended! read more

After talking to and shipping my malfunctioning series3 smartwatch to Samsung, with no success, I went to AJR with nothing to lose. AJR repaired my watch in a matter of minutes, before my eyes. I came in today and asked for my watch band to be fixed - I had broken off the little piece that holds the band down as it wraps around your wrist. The very nice person behind the counter said not to worry about it and proceeded to find a piece that perfectly matched the color of my band and gave it to me, no charge. DON'T GO TO THIS PLACE. The assistant manager Nina ( I hope I spell her name right) broke my good working watch. I went to replace a battery on my watch. Then I realize it's still not working even with the new battery. So I went back there with two watches. One watch with the new replace battery and another good watch. Nina told me that the watch with the replace battery is not working watch. So I told her to move the battery to my other good working watch. She didn't listen carefully and start switching the movement of the two watches. I was shocked. I told her I only wanted the new battery move to the good working watch. So I ended with two not working watch. Then she tried to give me a deal to repair the watch for $60. I told her it should be free. She agreed and told me it will take 3 weeks. I went back and got my watch and guess what IT IS NOT WORKING. SHE BROKE MY GOOD WORKING WATCH. Please don't go to this place. read more
