Gather 'round, good people of Grand Rapids!** 'Tis I, your humble town crier, with news most dire from AJ's Family Fun Center, where the miniature golf course doth lie in a state of disrepair. On a fair Saturday afternoon, I did venture forth with my daughter and her beau, seeking merriment and sport upon the greens. Alas, what we found was naught but frustration and woe. The tee boxes, uneven and askew, did cause many a ball to veer off course from the very start. Though the greens were mostly fair, the holes themselves were in a sorry state, with broken or missing flags on all but two of the eighteen. The signs that should guide us were shattered, and the spinners that add challenge were but broken relics of their former selves. Twice did our balls become ensnared within the obstacles, and on the sixteenth hole, a dozen players before us did halt their play, for their balls were trapped and would not release until I, with great effort, did free them from their prison. Our complaints to the attendant were met with indifference, as though she were not paid enough to care for our plight. The arcade, a cacophony of noise, did drive us away from further games, and the cost of nine dollars for such a course seemed a grievous overcharge. Verily, I say unto thee, I shall not return to this place of discontent unless I hear tell of new management or grand improvements. Thus ends my tale of woe. OMG!!!! All the staffs were so great!!!! It was my son birthday, and he had his birthday crew with him. I didn't have but one other adult with me besides myself. The staffs rode some of the kids I had on the go karts. The manager gave us top tier service. We had dipping dots, drinks, pizza, and ice-cream and a good time!!! I would definitely be coming back. All the workers were super friendly and kept a smile on their face. My son got spoiled by all the members there. Thank you all so much!!!! read more

Went here during the spring break special that included unlimited go carts, bumper boats and mini golf for three hours for $25. Even included pizza and pop! Two of the arcade games weren't working properly but staff gave was accommodating and gave us our coins back. Staff is very friendly!! Would definitely recommend. My friends daughter had a lot of fun and was a happy camper! read more

A lot of the arcade games are broken but I do have to say this is the first place that I have ever won the right case for deal or no deal. Putt putt is nice with little riddles at each hole as well. read more

Wow this place has changed for the worse! Used to come here every year and got unlimited go karts and had a blast. now it's over 20 dollars for 2 rides this is so sad. i thought this place was about fun. unfortunately i will not be coming back with my party of 20 people. read more

Lots of disappointments today! -child met height requirements, wasn't allowed to drive double go cart -many machines out of order -approximately 1/3 didn't put out tickets -waited in line to redeem tickets/slips for prizes redemption. We were told me have to wait until the line is down (assuming selling tickets and coins). Doesn't make sense because we were paying customers too. The kid was happy tho. read more

we took our 2 great-grandkids ages 6 and 10 there tonight. We all had a great time. we golfed, rode bumper boats, rode racing cars, had hotdogs and slushiest, played arcade games. All of the employees we interacted with were very helpful and pleasant. a great family activity center. we will have to take more of our tribe there this summer. thanks employees. read more

We came here because it was close by. First off the go karts attendee wasn't going to let it run because he didn't have help - I understand for safety but there were 2 people at the cashiers with no one in line. One fellow came out to help and the boys were able to ride. The slick track was closed( not aware until after we bought our tickets)because of malfunctioning equipment. The rides we were told were about 4 minutes each- ends up they were only 2-2.5 minutes long. Not really happy that we were told one thing and the attendees wouldn't extend their time. This place is poorly ran by upper management/owners. I always see stressed out teenagers overwhelmed with the amount of customers and problems with games. A lot of the games here do not work but they don't tell you that. The games will eat your money and you'll feel discouraged to get your coins back because the line to the counter is horrendous. The mini golf is cool though. I would give higher if I saw more engagement with management to ensure the place is ran properly. The batting cages are new and pretty awesome. Before they would not work at almost every lane, or the machine would constantly jam. read more

A reasonable "mini amusement park". I went for the first time with my 6 year old and the primary attraction for him was the go-karts. Actually, it's nice that they have 2 different tracks; one for the smaller tots ("kiddie karts") and one with larger single and two-seat go-karts. $6 per person for about 5 minutes around the track. The worst part about the go-karts is the disparity in quality. Some karts appear to be poorly tuned and others of the exact same type can literally go 2-3 times as fast (with similar sized adults in them.) This leads to some frustration if you are placed in one of the slow karts repeatedly. Still, my kid just loved riding with me, so I didn't dwell on it. The "Bumper Boats" are fun - essentially an outboard motor attached to an inner-tube. The miniature golf gets a C+. The arcade is small, but most of the games work. The food choices are slim, but what you would expect. I also saw batting cages and I chuckled while recalling the batting cage scene from Happy Gilmore. The kids working there were friendly, for the most part. I wasn't very taken with this place, but my little guy was so excited, I'm sure we will be back. read more

This place is fun overall - maybe this means that I am old but it's a tad annoying watching the teenagers who work here - some are a bit b!tc#y and quite disengaged. I understand it may not be your dream job but when you choose to take a job in the public eye you should try to be decent & respectful. The kids did the go-karts and the time allowed was very inconsistent. I felt bad for 1 of my nieces, the guy took a long time putting on her seat belt but she had to stop at the same time as everyone else. Seemed to me like they could have gone a little longer, there wasn't anyone else there. ' Oh well, the nieces & nephews had a blast so I guess that is what counts! read more

AJ's Fun center was a great experience! The miniature golf course was wonderful, a couple holes were almost underwater however but overall I'd give it an A. The only reason why this gets 4/5 stars is BC there was like no one working on staff inside. The one lady was very nice and patient with us but it just took a little while to get food. Awesome place. Except, we were told incorrectly about what to do with our tickets. We were told to come back in only for go karts and baseball. So then we had trouble with golf until we realized we were told wrong and for told you go inside. And go karts you don't go inside for permission. And we weren't told until we purchased our tickets that there isn't laser tag here at this location. read more

This place is okay. Food is not good, it's not much of a menu other than frozen pizzas, stale nachos and pretzels. The batting cages are a bit off on the balls. The machines in the game room almost all of them ate your tokens. The bumper boats were okay. We didn't stay around long enough to mini golf but you usually can't go wrong with a mini golf. read more

Fun place! But there isn't much to do, aside from the amazing mini golf course, the go karts are slow and short and the employees are kind of rude and aren't welcoming, id walk up to the front desk and they would be talking to each other not even acknowledging the customer.
