I made my way to the back of the store before anyone acknowledged my presence. A woman finally asked if I was looking for watches. I replied that I was, and she pointed out the 4 to 5 remaining men's watches. One of the watches really caught my eye, so I pulled out my phone to look up its specifications. At that moment, she snapped at me, saying, "NO PICTURES!" Her tone was loud and caught me off guard, making me feel embarrassed. I quickly put my phone away, but she continued to lecture me about the reasons for the policy. She said something along the lines of, "If you were allowed to take pictures, we would just post these online." At that point, I was both annoyed and embarrassed, so I decided to put away my credit card and leave. It's no surprise that this place is going out of business.

After wandering the mall for a few minutes and getting quotes for watch battery replacements, I decided to search Yelp and found this gem. The store owner, Chris, was so knowledgeable and welcoming when I called him. He gave me clear directions on how to find his store and that they could easily replace the batteries on 2 watches that we needed fixed. His prices were significantly cheaper than anyone else that quoted me, and the batteries on 2 watches were replaced in 20 minutes (at most). In addition, Chris was so generous and spent extra care to make sure that we were satisfied with the service (even taking an extra few minutes to deep clean our watches, free of charge!). Kevin, the owner, took a significant amount of time walking me through the watch in detail--its age, condition, wear patterns, polishing history, bracelet stretch, and overall authenticity--without ever making me feel rushed or talked down to. What really stood out was the honesty. He had no incentive to tell me I did well on the purchase, yet he confirmed that I paid a solid price and explained, why. He also clearly explained what wear was normal, what was cosmetic, and what would (or wouldn't) be worth correcting. No upselling, no scare tactics, no pressure to trade up. Kevin went further and educated me on differences between older and newer Rolex models, case profiles, movements, sizes, and pricing tiers--especially when comparing dress models versus sports models. The store was busy, all associates were tending to other guests. That was fine, I shopped around while I waited for a SA to become available. Once available, the SA walked right past me to greet a Caucasian couple, as if I wasn't standing right there. SOO rude!! I spoke up and said, "Hello, I am here too." She said the couple was there before me. We arrived at approximately the same time, and a simple acknowledgment goes a long way! As I was on my way out a nice, older gentleman helped me & I ended up buying a diamond bracelet from him. Looking back I should have left that moment. A few months prior, I was a headline speaker for an event in this very store & the owner's daughter was dismissive of me & didn't want to take a picture with me. I asked her to join the photo with me & the moderator, after I noticed her hesitation. Mind you, she acknowledged & took pictures with everyone else around me. WOW! I recorded a video I plan to share on social media.
