I asked this place for some electrical work in my bike and it has worked flawlessly. Really high quality craftsmanship and you can tell a lot of thought was put into making everything look factory. Totally fair pricing and for sure less expensive than a dealership. The work I asked them to do was more complex than it needed to be so they helped me understand a simpler way to get the same result and it actually saved time so I could get my bike back in less than 24 hours. Super disappointing experience. First off they don't answer their phone. second I took a 1985 motorcycle in for a DMV inspection, and the mechanic made all these ridiculous comments that I had to fix. One was that the turn signal indicators had worn off. This is so outside the spirit of the law and any other reasonable mechanic would know that. Said the fork leaked. It didn't. The prices on their equipment in the shop is pretty reasonable, so if you're just going for d gear, the value is good. Don't get service there from their mechanic. Both his texhnical and social skills are lacking. read more

Took my 2020 ZX14r for clutch cable and they said it shifted close to normal but they test drove and bleed the clutch line. He got a few bubbles out but nothing to write home about. Had to take my Vespa in for the MD safety inspection. I emailed ahead, I was later than expected (took a wrong turn) but was greeted and inspected right away. The shop isn't ready nor is the waiting area but it's a small operation just getting started. Glad to receive the great service and can't wait to see the place again when the gear shop is open. Looking forward to seeing the women's section which is a gem to find when you do. The owner assured me they are seeking out true women's gear companies. I've been researching the area for a bike shop and came across AK Cycles . From the moment I called in to make an appointment Amanda was able to book me in with ease and even reschedule due to the weather . Went in for chain replacement and when Scott reached out to make recommendations , he was able to list out what was necessary at the moment and what could be put off for a later date . The $40 tire change and balance price is a good one and I've had the service twice in the past. Today I went in with a Hawk GT tire that mounts to a single sided swingarm. The transaction started with the lie that I had to leave the wheel and tire and return later because the compressors needed starting. Shops don't bleed compressors down overnight, so that didn't ring true. I asked if the tire machine could handle a wheel from a single sided swingarm. The tech said yes but I can't balance it. OK, no problem. I had already dismounted the old tire and partially mounted the new one except the last bit. 90 seconds work for them with no dismount, no balance and no tire disposal. The price quoted was their standard $40. I tried to negotiate a reduction and was talked over and told they had to make a profit. I then indicated the price was OK but I would not be happy and would not refer anyone in the future. That was deemed a "threat" and so I was invited to leave. Make of it what you will. What I make of it is an outright lie, inflexibility, poor customer service, inability to see the big picture and price gouging. read more
