Customer service is kinda rough here. "We have enough work, we don't need your bike" Is what I was told in person after I was given the run around for 3 days cus they are closed Monday and Sunday. And told them I need it back same day is that a problem, was told by someone "not a problem" won't be coming back, staff seems to switch over every time I come by, which Has stopped and started taking my bikes to a much higher quality shop in the local area, I suggest check around and try other places. *Updated* Not reliable or honest. Diagnostics on my bike wasn't run. It came back damaged and I was told it was like that when I dropped it off. I was charged for warranty work and had to get the manufacture to tell them to cover it under warranty. (Warranty work usually pays a pre-negotiated rate that's lower than customers are charged) *UPDATE* You charged me for commissioning, you said the motor probably needed synced. You offered to refund me the money after I went to Zero, but I didn't want to drive out there again for the cash. The bike spent nearly half a year at dealers, it isn't even about just how long you had it for before wiping my logs and not giving me a diagnoses for the dates and times provided. You said a firmware update would fix it when I picked it up and it was "good to go". It wasn't. Wish I could trust that it's working fine now, but I don't believe anything you said, as others have warned me. Buy back? Bro, I asked for a refund, Zero said they were reviewing the request, then the ghosted me for months, forcing me to hire a lawyer. I politely asked them for an update every two weeks. I bought a helmet cam so I could record the bike TURNING OFF WHILE RIDING REPEATEDLY. Losing lights, drive power, dash, brake lights, etc. for several seconds while it rebooted. Video I provided to you and Zero. Along with video of the dash freaking out and stranding me. Also, the bike failing to maintain 70MPH, reducing to about 40MPH on the highway while I increased throttle output to try and not die. Then randomly deciding it wanted to go full speed again a minute later. It wasn't even about the money, and especially not about buyers remorse. As you said, I bought a loaded DSR the next year. Then an SR/S premium with 12kW charger last year. Then an Energica Eva Ribelle this year. I'm spending 25K+ a year on bikes, I don't give a shit about 10K that I would have gotten simply selling it, I *COULDN'T SELL IT BECAUSE I WAS AFAID IT WOULD KILL SOMEONE* It is true though, I did ride it for thousands of miles while taking it to several dealership and waiting for chargers to be replaced, then there were no dealers within range for about a year (coleman of woodbridge dropped them after it took months to send my onboard charger out, I should have Lemon Lawed it then, but was dumb and kept giving Zero chances), then your place showed up on my map and I let you have a try at it. First time I was promised the shutdowns would be fixed, it was the charger's fault! lol. I thought that was an odd diagnosis. Then a bunch of "it's fixed in this firmware update". Nope, kept happening, and I kept recording it. Zero hated it being shared on social media. I've been telling everyone to go get their Energica in NC, they've all been very happy, along with me. Surprised at the good reviews. Put simply, the owner doesn't honor his word. Had all kinds of problems with a bike I purchased last year including title and mechanical problems. Don, the owner, promised me two oil changes to compensate for the issues. When it's time for the oil change he never replies. Bad for him because I was planning to spend $500 and bring a friend who is interested in purchasing a motorcycle. Don lost thousands of revenue so he could save $50. I want to support my local businesses but only if they provide a service that the community needs. With so many motorcycle shops in this area there is no need to patronize poorly run ones. Went down to cyclemax Feb 2020 to purchase a 2014 Street Triple R. The price was beyond competitive and I felt like I stole the bike. The owner, Don, was extremely helpful and honest. He even pointed out minor blemishes on the bike that both my friend and I didn't see. We ended up hanging out at the store for almost 2 hours chatting and sharing a few laughs. Absolutely garbage. I'd give negative stars if i could. I never thought a simple oil change would have my blood boiling so bad. I've never met a more incompetent group of people. I really wish I read the reviews first. When dropping the bike off, they said they'll call me before 4pm to let me know it's done or if there is anything else that's needed. I dropped it off at 10am(opening). All day went by and I didn't hear anything. It started coming up on 3pm, so I decided to call to get a status(will it need more repair, is it ready, etc.). They aren't open on Mondays, so i need to know if it's staying over the wknd. The guy that picks up(Chris) says it's ready. I said cool I'll be there soon. When someone tells you it's done, you would think it's done and nothing else is needed. Given the first interaction with them something was telling me otherwise. I'm in an Uber on my way over, so I decided to trust my instincts and call again. Chris now sounds unsure and says I think its done but let me check. My blood is already starting to boil because this guy just told me it's done an hour early. It's not like you can turn around and go home in an Uber, but you shouldn't have to. He comes back on the phone and says I'm not sure if it's done and transfers me to an endless phone loop going back to the menu 8 times. I had to call back and by that time I'm already almost there. The heavy set one comes up to the desk and I can already feel he's going to justify the situation. He's looking at me like I'm in the wrong. I explained and he says "you expect Chris, the sales rep, to know what's going on with the bike?". Are you f***ing kidding me?? How/ why/who in the f*** would know Billy Bob's the service tech and Dickweed Dan is the sales rep. Take some mf notes dumb@**, so the sales rep or WHOEVER ANSWERS THE CALL can relay accurate info. It ain't rocket science. If he had just owned some faults, apologized and said we got overwhelmed, I could've accepted that. I'm not sure who the people rating this place 5 stars are talking to, but in most cases I'm going to bet its not the owner Don. I went in to look at a used bike and tried to ask some basic questions about the bikes history and he acted like I was insulting his mother and wasting his time. He was very short, and rude. He insisted the motorcycle did not have any accidents, but simultaneously acknowledged he had zero knowledge on the history of its drops (thus he could not explain any of the dents or scratches). It seems they cleaned up the fairings from scratches to try to get a quick sale, but failed to adequately cover up a crack towards the top of the tank (something that DOES NOT happen in a driveway drop). He also insisted I not test drive it more then 5 minutes. WTF. Never buying from this shop. read more

On Friday June 18th I called to schedule service on my bike. A guy named Chris answered and informed me that I'd need to call back on Monday to do any scheduling. No biggie. I eagerly waited over the weekend for Monday to arrive. Monday June 21 I called. Someone answered " hello ". I replied " hello". They replied " hello ". Thinking I had the wrong number, I asked was this Cycle Max. He replied " yes". A little taken back, I informed him I was told to call in today for service. He responded " I don't know who'd tell you that, we're closed on Monday's". Obviously a little annoyed, I said " okay, I'll call tomorrow ". Tuesday morning June 22, I called. Chris again answered. Took all of my information and assured a call back with in 30 minutes. Needless to say, I never received a call before the close of business. I called back Wednesday June 23. Chris again answered. To my amaze, he had ZERO record of who I was or the service I needed. Said he'd been too busy, but would take my information and call me back before the end of day AGAIN. Well, that once again never happened. At this point, I was pretty much set on not begging these people to " take my money", but wha't the heck, Iet me give email a try. On a side note, I emailed another Motorcycle repair shop the same day and got a response with in 20 minutes. As of today, August 16th, 2021, I've never heard back from CycleMax. With over 24 years in Retail, 14 of which as a retail manager, and just a normal guy/customer looking for help. I find this absolutely unacceptable customer service from CycleMax. Honestly, I can't even call it " customer service" as I received none on five separate attempts. Service was great and I appreciate them going the extra mile helping me load up for the long trip. Note: Some dealerships will either not list prices or markup knowing they're going to haggle with customers....Not here. I am relatively new to this area and needed some new tires for my Duc Multistrada Pikes Peak. Some friends had told me thay had a good experience at Cyclemax and since they are about 5 minutes from my house and I like to support local small business since I own my own small business, I called them up. I was given a very good price quote for the tires I wanted (Dunlop Roadsmart IV) so I ran over and ordered them. I was notified a few days later (3 days I think) the tires were in, so I ran over again and picked them up. Every one I had contact with on both visits was friendly and treated me with respect. I like to be as self reliant as possible (and most shops won't touch my 20-50 year old bikes these days) so I do most of my own service and I have a manual tire machine. The front went on easily but the rear (a 190/55/17) was so big and stiff I just couldn't get the first bead over the rim. I have several vintage bikes and the new tires always slip right on without issue...but not this time. I'm leaving on a 1K mile trip this weekend so I called Cyclemax around 4:30 PM on a Tuesday (they close at 6) and asked if they could mount the tire for me. I was asked if the wheel was off the bike (it was and the old tire was already removed) and how long it would take me to get over there and was told to bring it on. The mounting fee was very reasonable and a half an hour later I was back home remounting the wheel on my bike. Oh...and BTW the price was better than from Mr. Bezos (who doesn't need any of my money) or any other online dealer. So that's a Win-Win-Win and I'd say that deserves a 5* review. read more

I've never ever had such bad service in my entire life.....! I brought my bike in to have the carbs clean. It took them 7 weeks to finish the job can you imagine 7 weeks for a carb job? My bill was $696 for a carb job after 7 weeks of waiting. When I got to the shop to pick up my bike I waited for 1.5 hr for them to check me out even though I called 1 hour before to let them know I was coming. This shop is totally UN-believable. It looks like the reviews for CYCLEMAX is about a 3.5 (as of August 2019), and that's about a fair assessment. I purchased a used motorcycle from CYCLEMAX just over a year ago, and can break out my buying experience and quality of the product they sold me in two categories: Quality of the Product: I purchased a 5 year old muscle cruiser with about 10k miles on the odometer. So some mileage and wear and tear, but the motorcycle looked to be in good condition, and an independently pulled vehicle history report showed nothing major reported. After letting the motorcycle sit over the winter and putting almost a thousand miles on it between last summer and today, I can attest that they sold me a mechanically solid bike. The bike has not leaked any fluids, engine has run strong, and tires have held up well. So if you're worrying they'll sell you a dud, my experience was they sold me a mechanically fine bike. I would, however, caution that I don't believe they change out fluids, as they claim in all or most postings on their website. The owner (who did my paperwork and checked me out himself) mentioned that they had changed all the fluids as well, and I did not find that to be the case. I have so far changed the brake fluid (the existing brake fluid was very old and discolored), the final gear fluid (which was low and neglected to the point where when I initially opened the port to flush it, maybe two ounces of old grayish fluid dripped out, shiny with metallic shavings), and the oil/oil filter (oil was a dark brown/black color). So the previous owner had obviously neglected really basic maintenance, and the folks at Cyclemax didn't really bother to make up for it by doing these things before selling me the motorcycle. I've also changed the spark plugs, which were mis-gapped and in need of replacement. Net-Net Assessment: They sold me a bike in good mechanical order that needed some basic maintenance done to it, in order to make it a reliable daily rider. And I would buy a bike from them again. But I would recommend that if you are not mechanically inclined to take it somewhere get it conditioned after purchasing, because they aren't conditioning it prior to sale. Quality of Service: I initially emailed/called with a sales associate prior to coming in, and ultimately ended up working with the owner on the final purchase. It's a little annoying they gave me such a hard time regarding taking the motorcycle for a test ride, considering that the Harley-Ducati dealership literally down the street let me set up a test ride within minutes over the phone. Also, the owners attitude could use an adjustment. I initially thought maybe he was just having a bad day, but judging by the comments on here, his customer service skills are consistently lacking. With that said, when I purchased the motorcycle, I was fresh out of my motorcycle safety class, with a newly minted license, and wasn't yet confident in my abilities to ride a new bike home through unfamiliar roads. So the owner did end up driving the bike over to my house (about 6-7 miles away), as a favor. For which I am grateful and really appreciate, and made up for the attitude. Net-Net Assessment: As long as you don't take the owners attitude personally, he ended up being a decent guy, and the transaction was easy and smooth. They don't negotiate prices, and sell at the listed price, which some ppl love and some hate. Overall: If you're looking for a decent bike and a place with lots of selection, Cyclemax may fit the bill. As a first time rider, I was able to purchase a motorcycle at a low enough price to test the waters to see if I would continue riding, but also was able to buy a bike I could grow into. Bike is in overall good shape, but was in dire need of basic and slightly more advanced maintenance. But after flushing fluids and a tune up, the bike runs super smooth, and no complaints. read more

Let me say, as a new bike rider and owner I could not be happier with the service from the shop. They are knowledgable and personable, which goes a long way when someone like me has hundreds of questions to ask and no one to ask them to. The pricing is fair, they always make sure to give me lots of options to fit what I'm trying to do and are happy to explain the differences. I am new to riding and have found the only shop I will use. These guys are great. They are fair with pricing. I brought my bike in for an inspection and new fork seals. I needed a new rear tire. I paid for everything and it was about.$40 more than the estimate I got for just the fork seals from one of the big shops.They weren't snobbish about my choice of bike. I took my bike there on my birthday for new tires, they showed me a badly worn sprocket (it was just like the photo of badly worn and dangerous sprockets). They spent many hours calling around trying to find a new sprocket and seemed very upset that some places were going to price gouge me. Basically they offered some good advice about my bike to a new owner/rider, went above and beyond and made every effort to get my bike ready and safe for my birthday weekend. Please let me begin by saying I signed up for yelp JUST so I could write a not BS assessment of Cycle Max..or at least my experience. If you own an older (pre-'90s) motorcycle DO NOT TAKE IT HERE. This is my story: In 2012 I was able to get my first real motorcycle from a friend. After messing up a carb rebuild project, leaving the bike non-running, I decided to take it to Cycle Max to get it to running order. I described the condition of my 1981 CB125s. I needed a new battery, petcock, and carb needle. Don (the general manager) told me it shouldn't cost very much and would also include the following: valve adjustment, chain and wheel alignment, carb needle install. He kept saying, it wont cost a lot and that we'll do x,y&z to it. So thinking they were stand-up guys, I brought the bike over. ISSUE#1: He never gave me a written estimate of how much the repairs would cost. ISSUE#2: He never gave me a REASONABLE time frame for when the repair end. ISSUE#3: I would be told to call every week for an update. It was the same answer "we're waiting on a part" for more than THREE MONTHS!!!@!@? ISSUE#4: They will choose the more expensive repair options to recoup losses. Instead of replacing the entire carb assembly which require little labor, they chose to buy ONE part that cost more than the carburetor was valued for (cost of carb needle & labor vs. installing a complete carb with minimal labor) ISSUE#5 Again after 3 months they did NOT call me once to tell me anything about my motorcycle. I left 2 cell phone numbers to call me. Anytime I was there to ask about it, it was always "we're waiting on a part"...apparently "good busines" means its better to repair a motorcycle by ordering a motorcycle part once every 3 weeks. (not like the customer actually WANTS to ride) I finally got a call after 2 and half months of waiting just for them to tell me they're waiting on a gasket. ISSUE#I lost track... the Kicker....After 3 months of waiting..Don said they DIDN'T adjust the valves like the promised to (since I was PAYING THEM TO), the chain and rear wheel WASN'T aligned, and he charges me an EXTRA$70 for labor over the original 100 he quoted at the 2 month mark during the waiting period. He DID NOT bother to teel me the work was going to cost more, he just had the techs do it regardless of whatever the hell I wanted, but the question is WHAT THE HELL DID I PAY THEM FOR?! At one point he realized how he underestimated the cost of labor. That is complete BS coming from "professionals", the customer (me) has to pay MORE because Don does not know how to run a business correctly. They spent 3 months on a project that should have only taken 3 weeks max (replace carb needle, install new battery, install new petcock) I can understand paying more for good work and fast repair times but 3 months + $70 more labor + half of the work = complete and utter BS. BOTTOM LINE, Be an asshole to Cycle Max because they won't think twice about charging you more for crap service. Maybe I was a fluke by damn, they went all out to screw me over. First, let me start by saying that if you are looking for a very reasonalbe priced 50cc TaoTao scooter in Montgomery County, this is the place to go. The sales process was simple and pretty straight forward. They take care of the titling and tagging of the scooter and for a small fee, they even delivered it to my house for me. Here is where I had my issue with them. Being a first time scooter buyer, I was not given pertinent information about caring for the scooter, other than being sure to get the oil changed, which is basic common sense. So after not being able to immediately ride the scooter for about a month after purchasing it, I had no idea that that if it sits without being started or driven, the gas can drain down into the carburetor and cause damage to it, and that is exactly what happened. Obviously this caused issues when I was finally able to take it out and attempt to ride it. The scooter kept shutting off and just would not function at all. That same day, I contacted Cyclemax and explained what had happened. The owner Don, spent a couple of minutes on the phone with me before he imprudently said, "I gotta go." Since I had no way of getting the scooter to the shop, seeing as though they had to deliver it to me, I was trying to find out if it would be possible to have it picked up and taken to their shop for service. I was pretty much told that they were booked for weeks and it would be "a while" (in plainer terms, it's not gonna happen), before someone could "possibly" come to pick it up. I called again the next day to see if they could tell me when someone would be able to come and pick it up. Again, I was told, "We are really busy and I gotta go." I was extremely disappointed in the poor customer service that this business offered. It is as though they just do what they can to make the sale and after that, you are on your own. I ended up calling another place who offered mobile services and came out the SAME DAY to service my scooter. Because I was not informed of the mistake of letting the scooter sit with gas in it, I ended up having to pay an additional $200.00 on top of what I had already paid for the scooter, to have a new carburetor put in. I was not very happy. Again, if you are looking for a reasonable priced 50cc scooter in Montgomery County, this is the place. But if you desire excellent customer service and a place that will take the time to listen to your concerns and do what they can to help you resolve them, then stay far away from this place. They will not get my patronage in the future if this is how they will continue to treat their customers. Oh, by the way, this was about three weeks ago and I have yet to receive a phone call from them to help me. Perhaps next time, I will invest my money in a better brand of scooters and get better customer service. read more

Well I just can't say enough about the guys at Cyclemax. After being told by a mechanic that my old Silverwing needed a carb rebuild for over $600, I rode it to Cyclemax for a second opinion. The guys there solved the problem with a new air filter and spark plugs. They are as honest as the day is long and won't try to sell you anything you don't need. I came there with not big problem - I accidentally put the air in my hydraulic clutch. Guys there were busy but they solved my problem less than in two hours. I was really surprised and I appreciate it. I will go there again. read more
