First, I will say that Mala the owner is a sweet person and very loyal. I mistakenly had forgotten about an order that I had placed with her in August 2015 and didn't pick it up until March 2016. That kind of customer service is hard to come by when dealing with tailors these days. Also, she is pretty good at what she does and seems to have great prices compared with local competitors. This lady does a good job but she's SO frustrating to work with. One of the times I called to confirm an appointment she said I didn't have one even though i both wrote it on the receipt when she set up the appointment and put it in my calendar while I was at her location and saw her write it down. She was also very flip floppy about saying I needed my dress steamed and I had to pay someone else to do it, next appointment she said she would do it then the last fitting she said it didn't need to be steamed. She also got busy upset I came early to my first appointment​ (I live 45 minutes from her and finished the errends I was running) and I came in about 10-15 minutes early to wait and she insisted on helping us and not letting us wait and at the time my appointment should have started 3 other people came in to be fitted to which she said was family and could come any time. We decided to try her one more time and my husband called to see if she could get shirts done by a certain date to which she said she could on the phone but when we got there said she never agreed to it but then agreed to do it anyways and have at least one shirt done by the requested date. Long and behold when we got there to pick them up NONE were done. She told us to come back in 30 minutes and they were all but 1 done. Again the shirts we're done well and for my husband which is great but it's very frustrating to work with her. I don't know that we will go back again. read more

Not only is Mahla an amazingly talented tailor, she is a warm, funny, and kind person as well. I dropped my wedding dress off for alterations (hem and bustle.) My dress was very complicated, with a 7-layer skirt, and I wouldn't have trusted it with anyone else. In addition, she created a beautiful double bustle, gathering the under layers separately from the delicate upper layers of the dress. The upper layers were gathered in a gorgeous four-point arrangement. I couldn't believe how beautiful it looked, and how easy it was to do myself. I've been to other weddings where the bride's bustle had a single attachment point, and either broke or didn't lay properly when the mother tried to bustle the dress, so I was nervous about this happening with my dress. Mahla definitely exceeded my expectations, and I would recommend her shop without hesitation. My only suggestion would be to bring your dress in a dress bag if possible -- my dress had a lot of loose pieces of thread stuck to the bottom. It's completely understandable that this would happen in a tailor shop, of course. read more

First the pros: Mahla's work is very well done. I looked over her stitching after getting my business suit back and she obviously knows what she's doing. The sleeves on my suit jacket were shortened and looked like it came from the factory. She also knows clothing and styles and has strong opinions on how a suit should look. That unfortunately is where the trouble starts. Cons: As a shorter man I didn't want cuffs on my pants and only wanted a slight break above the shoe. She insisted pleated pants need cuffs and she knew how to hem pants. When I got them back they had two full breaks and the cuffs. I accepted the cuffs but told her I really only wanted a slight break. She said she'd do what ever I wanted but showed she was annoyed with me. I also asked her to sew in a boutonnière loop on the back of the lapel. She said no, my suit didn't need a loop because the lapel would hold it in place. As I was willing to pay for it, I don't think she should have argued with me. In the end she charged me 30% more than the written price on my claim ticket. She is a very nice, but very busy person with a strong personality so I'll give her the benefit of the doubt and say it was an error due to her rushing ... this time. Price for hemmed pants, waist brought in one size and jacket sleeve length reduced - $69, written price was $53 before tax. Conclusion: If you are not sure exactly what you want done, just that it needs to look good, Mahla is your tailor. If you've done your homework and know what you want, she'll do what ever you ask and do it well, but you can expect to get some attitude and possibly a price hike. read more

Mahla is AMAZING! I fell in love with a gorgeous black velvet Calvin Klein dress, but the only available size was two sizes too big! After confirming that she could alter the dress to fit me, she asked when I needed it. Of course, I needed it within a week for a big event! She called me the next week, when it was finished, just as she had told me that she would. I was unable to pick up the dress that day, and she really went above and beyond to accomodate my schedule, insisting that I should try on the dress to make sure it fit properly. Imagine that! This place had great customer service, it is just one lady who works here but she is very nice and truly cares for the customer. The prices here are pretty fair, too. My slacks I got hemmed cost me $12 dollars and my suit jacket cost me $40.00 in alterations. I got my hair cut and came back - she handed me the garment and flatly refused to let me pay her for it. The repair was lawless. She said it only took her a couple minutes, so she wouldn't charge me.
