But, I hired Maksym Kiporuk who goes by either Max or Kip of Kip home improvement. Max is C-15 licensed for flooring and floor covering, bonded and insured (CSLB 1114647). I found him originally on Thumbtack and came highly recommended from customers who he completed jobs for. He was new to Yelp. His pricing was very fair for the high quality of work his crew of 2 do . Max manages the quality and finish and communicates with you throughout the install process. My daughter selected Republic Brazilian Tigerwood which is an AC3 grade water resistant laminate flooring from Pro flooring in Sacramento. Kip did pass his contractor discount pricing on materials to us which was lower than the cash price a consumer would normally get otherwise. My daughter had a new construction Beazer home. He did the demo of carpet, laminate, removed baseboards and found using a Tramax style moisture meter (V1-D1). Normal reading of 12-15 in different areas, he was expecting 7 or below which is normal. So he treated the whole area with Silka MB which is a moisture barrier which turns the concrete a blue color and dries overnight. Moisture cannot come up once that is applied. It was a 4 day job. So 1 day for demo, grind. Leveling and sealer. Followed by Silka MB moisture barrier on second day. Then put down a Quietstep silver moisture barrier and laminate install over the next 2 days. The floor is floating so expect a little gap on the sides which gets covered by baseboards. His cuts and transitions from his team were good. His team cleaned up each day. Took a leaf blower and cleaned garage and driveway. They did a nice clean install. No damage to any walls or doors. They did reseat the closet doors and kindly received an Amazon package when we were kind enough to put inside a room. They caulked the gaps around the baseboards and cleaned up after themselves. Kip came the last day and made a few corrections to the caulking, cleaned, took payment and left. I would wholeheartedly recommend Kip to anyone looking for a flooring licensed contractor. His work is 5* and his team takes pride in their work. His pricing is also very fair and he passes his contractor discount on materials to you which is lower than the consumer cash price. Overall you will receive a quality install at a fair competitive price and peace of mind as he is licensed, bonded, and insured and an overall nice friendly guy as is his team.

We first hired Chris about 2 years ago to do our countertops in all 4 bathrooms which we were very satisfied with, and called him back for a quote for our kitchen in 10/2024. We took forever to decide between several kitchen quotes, but Chris won us over after being so open and patient with our numerous design requests and changing our mind multiple times. Plus, he was able to preserve our old cabinets and custom make new cabinets to match perfectly while most others could only work with pre built cabinets. Construction finally started 3/2025 and was completed in a very timely manner, about 5-6 weeks. He and his crew were always very professional and respectful as we worked from home for the entire project. They draped a huge plastic barrier between kitchen and living room, completely sectioning it off to prevent dust and also came in only through the back door which we appreciated. We set up a makeshift kitchen in the next room over and they moved our fridge to that side so we could still use it. We were so impressed with the work on the kitchen that we asked him and his crew to redo our laundry room at the same time with leftover countertop from the bathroom job 2 years prior! A few highlights: - The custom hood for our vent was perfectly crafted. I sent him an inspiration picture and it ended up looking exactly the same. - The backsplash was done superbly, with a herringbone behind the stove and a vertical pattern elsewhere. Due to the unevenness in the tile design, he suggested it be laid without spacers (he still put a few spacers when absolutely needed) and it turned out beautifully. - He had no issues with removing side splash and texturing and painting over it. Most other contractors wanted to put backsplash on the side which is easier for them but doesn't look as "clean" for us. - He and his team were very open to minute details for the finishing touches. As we read in a previous review, Chris is a perfectionist and he showed this every step of the way. - He didn't hesitate to walk us through things we didn't understand, like how the different lighting would work with the transformers. The under cabinet and glass cabinet lighting turned out so well! - The painters he used also did a great job, and were in and out in 2 days. They used a very high quality paint and did multiple coats. - Of note, we had previously remodeled our kitchen floor and pendant lights separately before the job with Chris, and he was able to shave the height of the new cabinets to all be the same height on top of the new floor. Overall, we couldn't be happier with our decision to go with Chris and his team for our dream kitchen!

I thought that seemed reasonable so I cut them a check. Something to note, my house has no big trees around as it's a new development. Further, the gutter is connected to a third story deck and there aren't leaves or vegetation up there. When we had our first strong rain, I noticed that the rain gutter was stopped up. I called JWS to see if they could address. Left a VM. I did get a call back a few days later from a woman named Brandy. She left a weird VM for me saying she was going to contact my HOA. I called her back stating the HOA does not need to be involved. I paid directly to JWS to fix a problem and that the issue still existed. She said she would need to talk to the owner and get back to me. After a few weeks went by, I called her back and asked what the status was. Her response was pretty flat that the owner was not interested in addressing this issue, that my rain gutter probably got clogged with leaves, and I was looking for a free gutter cleaning. I re-explained the issue but she said the owner wasn't interested but that I was free to hire someone else to do the job. I asked if she planned on ever calling me back (as I had to call her back) and the answer was that they hadn't gotten around to calling me, even though it was clear they had made up their minds immediately . It seems like they had no intention of calling me back. Here's the thing. They solicited me to do the work. I didn't ask them. I paid them money and they didn't address the issue. And then they were rude about the resolution. It was very unprofessional behavior and a total turn off. While they did a good job painting my house, this issue has completely turned me off from using their services or recommend anyone use their services.

He claimed he was going to remove door knobs and hinges when painting the interior doors, he did neither and got over spray on hinges, knobs and within 2 months the paint was peeling off around some of the knobs.

He worked with us on color selection and gave fantastic suggestions (and tips!) based on our "coastal" style - including painting the front door a color that would really pop! We selected coral for the front door, and painted the exterior of the home a lovely, beachy teal with off-white trim. We couldn't be happier and after all was said and done, LOVE our home! After a year of outdoor projects, this was by far the best money we could have spent; it made the biggest impact on our home and the neighbors love it.
