    Front door to suite
    Laura I.

What a cute hotel!! The email reservation experience was pleasant and we didn't feel like just a number. We got to email with a friendly person who was very helpful with all of our questions. The front desk was also pleasant during check in and the front desk lady even helped me wheel my luggage to the room. The room was extremely spacious, and the kitchen had everything we needed for our 2 day stay. The Livingroom had a lot of natural light and open space. The decorations throughout were modern. The bed was comfortable, but we did have an issue figuring out how to operate the lights on the nightstands (and I'm a techy person). Also didn't realize that there were blinds we could use until the second night as they blended in (so thankful we found them). We highly recommend this hotel because of it location, large and clean rooms, uniqueness, accommodating staff, great bar, and food. It's the total package! We didn't try the bar until our second night. I will write a second review on that. It was very good and we highly recommend! Note- We had a mishap that happened during check in- the suite that we had reserved was not available (the person ended up staying longer). The manager was quick to intervene and make is right for us. A little bummed the fireplace didn't offer faux fire which would of been perfect. Also, thought that the living room, TV, picture frame, and fireplace were at an odd angle. These little things were not significant enough to affect my rating!

The rooms did not look like any of the pictures online. The bathroom was so small it could barely fit one person and your knee touches the door frame when you sit on the toilet. The shower had terrible water pressure, making it very difficult to shower. The person at the front desk said they would send someone to work on the shower pressure but no one ever came. There was also mold caked into the grout in the shower, by the shower door and along the walls. We asked about the room servicing policy and was told you have to pay for daily servicing if your stay was less than 6 days. Probably why the rooms are so dirty. Can't remember the last time I stayed at a hotel that charged extra for daily cleaning. Also the wifi was spotty and not working most of the time. Will not be back. Highly not recommend.

I cannot emphasize how good our stay was. I highly recommend this place. I was looking for a hotel or apartment for a month long stay in Philadelphia for my family and Aka was exactly what I needed. They recently renovated so their facilities are new and spotless but what stood out the most for me is the service. Their staff were outstanding and helped us whenever we needed them, at any time of the day with speed and efficiency. The doormen are always here to help you carry your things or to run to you with an umbrella when it rains. The front desk were reliable and excellent. I would like specifically thank Mahika her help, she was tremendous. We are leaving Aka happy and very satisfied.

Marble bathroom with lots of extra shelves

Definitely one of the nicest hotels I've ever stayed in; certainly the most spacious. All the rooms at this hotel are "suites," and many are used for extended stays. But these aren't your typical "corporate" suites, these are stylish and elegant. It felt like we were staying in a small apartment (actually it wasn't that small), and my husband remarked that it was like the flat in "Dial M for Murder." There was a large entryway/sitting area, and then a living/dining room, separate kitchen, and also an office/study. The bedroom was also quite large and the marble bathroom also had ample space. I could have lived there! Of course, this is not a hotel if you're super budget-conscious, and we only ended up staying here because most hotels were booked (Eagles/Redskins game, some type of medical convention), and we're too old to stay in dumps when we travel. It still ended up being less money than I would have expected to pay, and I absolutely felt like we got our money's worth. It was in a great location in Center City, just across from Rittenhouse Square Park. We had plenty of restaurants, bars, and shops right at our fingertips. We walked all over the neighborhood and it's just so damn charming and appealing. We're so happy to have stumbled onto this hotel chain. Definitely a happy accident, and we're planning on staying here again on our next trip to Philly.

They may seem like the same, but they're actually quite different. While both breeds descend from the Old English Bulldog, the American Pit Bull Terrier is a cross of the Bulldog with the Terrier. They crossed these two breeds to create a more muscular and agile dog that could perform better in bull-bating and ratting. The Pit Bull is recognized as part of the Terrier family while the American Bulldog is part of the Molosser dog family. The temperament of the American Bulldog resembles that of an English bulldog. They are a gentle and affectionate dog that gets along well with children and can be regarded as a large lapdog. They can prove to be friendly dogs and very family-oriented, especially if they are trained at a young age. As I said he's 12, with arthritis and starting to lose his hearing and vision. He limps around, at this point the beloved Lab would maul him to death. He's too old and arthritic to hurt a bird at this stage of his life. Great stereotyping going on. Money wasn't an issue nor my credit, I'm a physician assistant and make quite a nice livelihood but I'd rather live in a hole in the wall than automatically rejects me on a dog they never met. Yeah it definitely won't be by any properties owned by you.

We've dealt with recurring HVAC issues, including days without functioning AC during the summer and inconsistent or nonexistent hot water during the winter. Maintenance requests often go unanswered or take far too long to resolve. Other ongoing issues include: * Trash chutes and compactors regularly backing up, creating awful smells and sanitation concerns. * Elevators frequently out of service, with residents getting stuck inside. * Mold in the gym bathroom. * The list goes on. Communication has been just as frustrating. Since GY took over, there have already been two property managers. The first left after giving notice. The second stopped responding to my emails about ongoing building issues, and I later found out from the front desk that he had quit as well. Residents weren't notified, and now there's no clear point of contact to address serious concerns. It's incredibly disappointing because this used to be a great place to live. The location is excellent, and under the previous ownership the building was run well. Since GY took over, the quality of management and maintenance has declined significantly. For the amount residents pay in rent, the current conditions are simply unacceptable. I rarely write negative reviews, but prospective tenants deserve an honest picture of what living here has been like since the ownership change.
