Asked for an estimate, and the guy came out and immediately said they couldn't do the service unless they could touch every board in my house. I questioned this after doing construction most of my life. Most houses are double walled, so I couldn't see the point, and called Bull! Well my opinion was they couldn't do it because it was a plantation house that poor people lived in, and they considered it to be a no pay account. My wife came home for the inspection, and the contract inspector that was to do the estimate judged her, and our house by what he saw. Again this is a plantation house, that we want to last a while. Unfortunately this company sends out inspectors who judge whether you can pay for their service, or not. After speaking to the inspector on the phone, It was clear he thought that our service wouldn't be paid for, and therefore he was not interested having his company waste their time on helping us, as obviously we wouldn't be able to pay. I think it is sad that a company like this that wants to help people with pest problems(termites), is so quick to judge their customers, and their worth by their residence, and their perceptions. The heading says it all, as good as it gets. I was desperately looking for a last minute termite inspection. Called 4 companies, these folks jumped up and with-in minutes I had a call from the inspector that was at the complex ready to do the inspection. Never had such good service, right from the first phone call. I highly recommend these folks for your termite inspections, fast, friendly and efficient... My job can be very demanding but this folks like this on my team, I can get it done with ease! Give them a call, you won't be sorry! read more

After paying for service we received a warranty that states, 2 years call anytime for an inspection if you suspect they have returned AND there is an annual inspection. I called and the lady on the phone rudely cut me off and asked, "what are you seeing?" I replied,"wings". She said, "there is nothin we can do about that, everyone has wings". I am stupefied as the person who gave us the original quote from Akamai pest six months ago said that when we saw wings 2 years prior, that is when we got infested and should have done something then. So, to get our business they said one thing, then once they had our business, they were too busy to check on our house-as the warranty states. 12/20/18 Update- Christine, new owner called me to renew my two year contract. When I relayed the problems I had and the lack (none) of service I received she reviewed my file and was extremely apologetic. She offered to reinstate my warranty for one year. When we found the first signs of termites, we had it spot treated. When we found the second we got worried and looked for a more rigorous solution. We live in a condo, so tenting is not an option. Alamai has a treatment that comes with a 2-year warranty. It's expensive, but came highly recommended by an architect friend who had his historic home treated by Akamai during his renovations. Called Akamai twice before they returned our call because we have termite droppings in 4 different places at our house. Three of the four places have been treated 2 or more times by Akamai and we still have termites!They told us they can come on Sept. 30th- 4 1/2 weeks out. This is unexceptionable in my book. Especially since we have been with them for approximately 6 years. The one area of our lanai has 2 boards eaten away by termites that we discovered this right after our yearly inspection was made. Who is going to pay for that? This is not the first time we have been treated rudely by this company. About a month ago the girl called to cancel our appointment because somebody did not come into work. She wanted to reschedule us for 2 weeks later after we had already waited 3 weeks on them. I said that I wanted to speak to a manager. When he called and talked to my husband he said that if we were unhappy with our service from them we shouldn't renew our contract. Well guess what- we are not going to renew. I doubt if I would recommend Akamai to anyone just from our past experiences with them. read more

I am writing to warn others about their deception . What 's unfortunate is that the homeowner wasn't unhappy with the orange oil treatment itself . Tony Galimba called to say he had an appointment when he didn't , then he lied when he told me ( a guest in the house ) that they were just going to inspect to make sure there wasn't any further infestation and just sign this paper here to say we came and inspected your house . When they left ( got my glasses out ) , it says that the homeowner signed up for a new contract and owes $750.00 . That must be why they won't return phone calls , because I'm sure that they get people calling in response to their lying . Shame on you ! I would have referred other people to you . It would be so much easier if you had just been honest and not deceptive . In the long run it only hurts your business to be deceptive and lie to people . read more

Fraudulent, deceptive, dishonest business practices, thousands charged for services not needed or provided, condescension, sarcasm, no responses to phone calls or letters, refusal to correct unfair charges, refusal to honor contract (with mathematical errors and missing signatures) when new termite droppings appeared after only one treatment was made in just one small spot. After the initial treatment we found droppings about five months later. We called the office to schedule an appointment (it was within the warranty period), but the call backs were spotty and we weren't getting an appointment date. Finally, we spoke with a supervisor, but she was condescending and belligerent; made us feel like we were the problem! Why anyone would keep her on staff is mind boggling. Anyway the crew came out and they were just great - what a contrast! Recently we found more droppings and called for an appointment and after several promises that a technician would call it was more than three weeks later when a supervisor called to schedule an appointment. We have no problem with the field crew, but this is the second instance of long delays just to get an appointment! We really regret selecting this company. read more

After 3 weeks of asking to be contacted for my new home I got a call. The excuse was they have been very busy with existing customers. If they're too busy for new business then I'm not interested. 2 others have already responded with quotes before these guys even called back. The caller was not impressed and quickly hung up not caring about the terrible impression. Had the orange oil treatment a little over a year ago and it DOES NOT WORK! Am constantly finding termite droppings and have had to call them to come back at least five or six times. Every time I've had to take time off work to let them in. The technicians they send are usually nice, but takes days and multiple calls to get a call back. Waste of $1800! Don't do it! read more

Like several other reviewers, these folks do NOT get back to you in a timely manner! Took 2 calls to have someone finally come out. When they did come out they tried to sell us on a complete house termite....when we were only asking about 1 bookcase. Have never heard back from them with a quote. Wrote an email and they didn't respond. These people don't care about new business....and I'd hate to think what happens once they've got your $$! They need to quit putting so much $$ into advertising and take care of their internal customer service problems. read more

Buyer beware! This company is a sham. If you're a first time customer you'll get service, friendliness etc however for repeat visits or call backs.........forget it. I have been calling for 6 months and got one call back with no name or contact number. Tony the owner is a nice man with good intentions.
